Morning all
Well, it's finally raining here today
, still the gardener in me says the plants need it and at least I won't have to go and water the allotment
Off to work today, and then I think it will be leftover chicken in a white wine sauce for dinner.
Hope everyone has a good day, and hugs :grouphug: to anyone who needs one xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever

Good morning everyone! Had a fab weekend in *London Town*. We saw Mary Poppins, which was superb - much better than the film. Had a meal courtesy of Mr T's tokens, and MIL bought the train tickets with vouchers that her council gives them to encourage people to use public transport. :T
MIL gave me lots of plants from her garden (primroses, alpine strawberries, veronica, poppies) so need to get them in today.
Bought some paint, so I'll start on the woodwork in the spare room. DD wants the room finished for the weekend, as she's having friends to a barbeque and sleepover to celebrate her birthday.
Happy Birthday to Stef and Mr Churchmouse  :bdaycake:
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

Had a night of really crazy mixed up dreams, involving loads of people who are now dead, like my Grandma. Woke up at 3am in a panic!
Another lovely day here, we haven't had rain for about a month.
Back to work today, rol on weds afternoon when I finish! Terrible isn't it, wishing your life away:rotfl:
Glad your cat came back Amanda, they do that sometimes. We had one go missing for two weeks, then one morning there he was sitting by the french doors, miaowing to come in!

Morning All
Dry but Greyish here. Been up since 3.30 am. Just not tired, usually get this way when not working. DH needs for more sleep than I do so we either go to bed at the same time and I get up and watch early morning Sky TV, or stay up later at night and then sleep through. As long as I feel fine (which I do) then I don't bother. Never think to log on here before 6 though
Happy Birthday Stefejb and Mr Churchmouse:j :j
CCstar - when I do get ktired then I just announce I am going to bed, and get out of the way of the world. I don't know if DH comes in to check on me, as once asleep I am virtually unconscious, which is probably a good job as my DH snores for England, but I never hear it unless I wake up!
(((((((((((((((big hugs)))))))))))))))))) to al lthe none sleepers.
Glad you enjoyed London Pen-Pen.:T
I'm dreading tomorrows weight in Amie and preliminary yesterday showed 2lb - inthe wrong direction! I need to decide what diet to follow. I had some real success with Atkins a couple of years ago, but even though I was fine on it and even had my cholesterol checked and it was fine, I keep worrying about the health aspects. On the other hand whenever I seem to eat bread, even limited amounts of wholemeal, then I seem to put weight on, so it may that I have to decide to go that way again. I am considering the two bowls of Special K/Skimmed Milk and an evening meal for this week, but that will take some will power I think, and you can eat more with Atkins. Never easy is it? This sitting with feet up to rest my leg is not helping the weight loss either!
I have to admit I enjoy Mills & Boon books too Kyle I know they are simple reading, but when they are just to put you to sleep or give you something to get away from the world with, and you have not got the brain power/concentration available its great not to have to work to hard to drift away. They are not my only read but they have their place.
((((hugs)))) to anyone who'd like/need one.
Have a good Monday

:bdaycake: Happy birthday Stefejb and Mr Churchmouse :bdaycake:
Hugs CC and PP
Well I was an absolute slug this weekend, so will have to catch up this week. It is a bit humid here, late yesterday it really looked like a storm was about to break, but it didn't. I half wish it would as I love that "just after" sensation when the air is crisp and clean. Always makes me feel better. Do thunderstorms act like giant de-ionisers or something
I packed the growhouse with as many pots as possible last night, just in casr, so now I'm dithering whether I should take them out or not.
Right I WILL clean that manky kitchen floor before I have my shower. And try to find something to take to work for lunch as I [strike]forgot[/strike] was too idle to make the mushroom pate I was planning to do yesterday.
Ooooh! last time I cooked chana dhal I froze the water it had cooked in. Yesterday I used some of it to make a loaf, it is delicious! Next time I'll cut back on the sugar I add to feed the yeast, I think the starches from the dhal must do the same thing, which is great, lower GI bread
Does anyone else use liquids from cooking foods in their breadmaking? What else works?
Bye for now
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

Good morning
Looks like several of you didn't get much sleep for one reson or another - hope that doesn't mean you end up feeling 'groggy' all day.
CCStar - hope you get it sorted with DH soon, I hate that feeling you have when you have an unfinished / no made up arguement.
Penny Pincher - Whats the essay on? Good luck with getting it started - I always put it off until the last minute and then panicked!
StefeJB -Happy Birthday!!
One of the beds are made
DH made it up yesterday for me, so most important job for today is to get the other bed made today - and I will do it, unlike on Saturday when I just spent the day on my bum:D
Have to take the kids to the library today as I discovered that the books they have are 2 weeks overdue! Other than that, it's just doing whatever is on the Flylady thread.
Dinner tonight is the old fav - butter bean stew and dumplings!! I think we eat this almost every week! BM is busy making the lunchtime loaf and a load is in the washer. Hope it doesn't rain - the forecast was for sun, but it looks very cloudy and 'yellowish' out there....very much like rain.
Have a good day, and hugs for those who need / want them.0 -
Good morning everyone
Happy birthday to stefjb and Mr Churchmouse. Hope you each have a great day.
Racy it feels quite humid here too although it is grey and miserable. Its amazing how energetic I feel when the sun is shining, so like you, I have been sluggish this weekend as it has been overcast all weekend.
W**k today and DS is back at school. He told me that he is beginning to worry about his SATs and that I should *make* him sit down every day after school and do some revision. DD is quite disciplined that way (unless she is on holiday of course  ) but DS does have to be nagged somewhat.
Have no idea what I will cooking for dinner tonight as I haven't taken anything out of the freezer. In fact I don't even have something to use for my lunch today. Very unlike me.
Have a marvellous Monday. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."
