I so love getting the new gadget that I have spent ages researching and whatnot. It's such a thrill opening it and using it for the first time :).
Not got anything like that at the moment but am massively excited that we are getting our hall stairs and landing done soon and I will have walls upstairs! At the moment due to DH only ever doing half a job, we have walls on the inside and beams on the outside of all the bedrooms!
We're also getting a shower which will be fab :D

I'm considering getting a food processor for Christmas. Can anybody tell me whether I'm likely to experience a thrill such as you have described here when acquiring such a thing? Is there a particular brand I should go for?

Please bare in mind we gave away our smoothie maker after just two uses because it was a pain in the !!!! to dismantle and wash.

I look forward to your replies!

I've got a Vitamix and I can honestly say it's the most exciting thing to happen to me for years :rotfl: It does away with most of your other kitchen gadgets and I use mine at least once every day.

It's a very expensive piece of kit but a doddle to use and it self-cleans....you just half fill the jug with warm water and one spot of washing-up liquid and turn it on for 30 seconds, rinse out with clean water and job done!
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

I must confess that the self cleaning bit sounds so wonderful that I'd categorise it on the level of kitchen !!!!!!!

Oh now kitchen gadgets.....it was a near orgasmic experience the day I got a Robot Coupe.

Ahhh yes...all those evening since I've owned it, in front of Masterchef with a [STRIKE]bottle[/STRIKE] glass of something chilled, dry and white thinking to myself "I could be doing a white truffle veloute right now."

I happened to be in a branch of John Lewis' when the salesman was doing a demo with a Vitamix. Serious, serious kitchen !!!!!!. He made hot soup, then ice cream, then chopped stuff up for composting ... I must have stood there for half an hour. Way out of my budget though lol :o

On no!!! Why??? Why? Why did I have to go and google that?? Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? I am now totally LUSTING after one. AND the worst thing is that we have a trip to Lakeland planned for this coming week. I was only going to get a heated airer for my daughter (and whilst on the subject, can I just say that this is the BESTEST BEST thing I have in my home at the moment!), but now I might have to get a Vitamix as well.

Must learn NOT to google "stuff" after reading about it!! :D
  • it made sense to try out one that sucked and scrubbed!

my husband said much the same thing early on in our relationship... ;)
