I've ordered a Vax All Terrain Cleaner in the Vax sale, reduced from £400 to £160. I'd been tempted by the sale anyhow, and when my Dyson died this weekend, it seemed like fate.
This new beastie promises to scrub and wash my flooring. With my clan of cats trekking through the house, such a service is very tantalising.
I find myself now perking up at every courier van that drives past my house. Father Christmas was never so eagerly anticipated.
I wonder if it will indeed clean my house as promised, or if it will go the way of the things that I yearned for in my childhood, so wonderful and glorious, like
- the jumping beans (turned out to be a ball bearing in a pill capsule),
- x ray glasses (couldn't see much of anything, let alone extra) and
- sea monkeys (they were tiny shrimp-like things, no smiles, no eyes looking directly at you to interact, no crowns, no happy mummy and daddy families like in the adverts).

Lol, not got one, just a dyson. With a RRP of £400 I would sincerly hope its good but probably not a magical buying a dream product like the adverts would make out. It wont make world peace, a harmonious family, after a couple of uses it'll still be a drag to haul it out and it wont make your house super huge, brand new everything and incrediably neat & tidy. But don't let me dampen your spirts. It is crazy how magical they can make things look for children on tv & in certain catologes.0

We bought a Vax when we moved house. It was (and still is) magical. It turned the brown carpet in the living room back to orange! It was very theraputic watching the carpet change colour right before my eyes.0

I'm 29 and recently, while excitedly awaiting the delivery of my new Harry Vacuum reluctantly admitted I must now be an adult.
I still got one with a fun face though.0 -
Londonsurrey, you are one party animal:D
PS I love my Dyson animal, I remember the first time I used it after a 'normal' vacuum, it was so exciting I had to go and tell Mr Bugslet!:o0 -
Thank God it's not just me !0

My old carpet cleaner couldnt keep up with the amount of muck bought in with my dogs. It was only a cheap thing and meant to be used occasionally only it was used more often than i thought it would.
Out went the old cheap thing that kept bunging the water inlet hole up and in came an all new, all singing all dancing carpet cleaner that does the job brilliantly but its huge and way too heavy for me to use. I wasnt with him when he bought it i was too busy cleaning up dog sick!
My vacuum cleaner. Well he got that right. It was one of the cheapest but its light and doesnt struggle with the dog hairs and whats more, i can use it with ease. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
LOL londonsurrey, l'm just the same. When l ordered a vax floor steam cleaner l couldn't wait to get it open and working.
I also took photos of my rotary washing line when l'd washed all the babygrows and vests etc for the baby l was expecting. Well, l'd waited 8 years for a baby and the clothing was perfectly white and so tiny, to see it flapping away on the washing line was very exciting. :rotfl::j
