As a result, I've signed up with Riverford to have a veg box delivered each week. Does anyone else use them? I've found other companies that do the same so will see how this first box goes. It will add £16.95 into our weekly shop but I will plan my meals around it and I'm sure the other bits we buy will come in at £40 so should still be in our weekly budget. I'm also adamant that every last bit of vegetable will be used - even if that means having savoury mince on Wednesday night so all bits can be used. I'm quite excited about the first box coming :-)
I use Riverford and love them, we get the small box every two weeks at the moment although I always check the contents of the boxes and change to the favourites or seasons boxes if I prefer the contents!
Great for meal planning too as you know what you're going to get in general unless they have to substitute something!Grocery Challenge 2019 YTD-£820.46/£7200(11%)

First shop of the year.
Spent the grand total of 3.49 on black olives and tomatoes which I needed as I'm just about to start stewing a very large sack of onions where the odd one has started to go soft. Will freeze the results and add in peppers, anchovies, toms and olives. Hope not to spend anything else until next week0 -
Great news on the spending today, vet bill was free as we decided not to go down the operation route as he is pretty healthy and happy in himself at the moment!
Did top up on food and hay for the month and bought some vitamin c drops as recommended, but I have a separate pot for piggies stuff so no effect on the groceries today!Grocery Challenge 2019 YTD-£820.46/£7200(11%)

£1.65 spent on cleaning supplies needed
And £13.80 on fruit.
Am hoping that will be it for this week (might need a bit of milk but we're trying to add a lot of raw to our diet and cut back on non vegan food so may cope without)

I'd like to join in please! I've read most of this thread, and will catch up on the rest tonight.
There's only me and 2 cats, but I spend FAR too much on shopping and have FAR too much stuff - half of which ends up in the bin.
My freezers not very big, but I have a second one that I have inherited from my Nana, so I shall get that plugged in so that I can do some batch cooking and stock up on frozen stuff.
I'm also a new WW member, so need to keep all my cooking quite healthy where possible. I've never been very organised either, so both this challenge and being a WW member should hopefully make me more organised with meal planning, shopping etc.
I've no actual idea how much I spend per month, so I'll be generous and set this months at £200 for everything (need to go Cosco for Cat Food & Litter), then drop it down next month.
I have a diary to note it all in, a second purse for grocery money, and a trip so save for!
Thanks in Advance

Oh honey, so, so sorry! You're having a horrid time, saving money would be the last thing on my mind.
I hope it all resolves itself in the way you want it to for you
