Our veg box grower has said same thing. The weather has been so bad that they haven't been able to get a lot of the potatoes out of the ground so they are just in there rotting. It has been the worst year in loooong time for most farmers! That is definitely going to impact our food pricesHome Schooling mum budgeting for 2 adults, 2 teens, 2 little ones & 3 cats

Hello all and hopefully everyone has a lovely New Year!
I'm going to go for £130 this month. This year (2012) my average monthly spend was £130.46.
My aim is to decrease money coming out of my account but as long as I can maintain what I spent in 2012 in 2013 I'll be very happy, considering the talk of food prices going up.Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300

I had several boes of these to use up when my Mum died. I did use some as normal but used up a lot in stews and casserolles. Cubed pork in Minestrone was especially nice, chicken and mushroom made a good sauce for chicken breasts and beef and tomato were ok in a curry.Slimming World at target0

DH popped to Mr T's to get a few bits, spent just over £29 but hopefully we shouldn't need anything much for the rest of the week.0

I have set a target budget for January of £300.
Started before January as I needed some shopping.
Spent £40 in Lidl - lots of cleaning stuff, loo rolls and detergent so hopefully won't need much more this month. I also took advantage of the £1 deal on Branstons 4 pack of Baked Beans and bought the maximum of six.
Then onto Tesco and spent a further £42 on food, £5 on conditioner and tissues and £5 on a birthday present and card.
So a total spend of £92. Hmmm! I have spent a third of our budget already. Hopefully I have bought enough staples to see me through the rest of the month.
Dinner tonight was Potato mashed together with sauteed onions, peppers and sweetcorn sprinkled with cheese, served with the remains of past their best vegetables from the fridge and turned into a salad. There was enough to put a portion in the freezer and husband and son loved it.
I am feeling pleased with how things are going. I still need to learn to resist temptation (the 2 lots of Gu desserts at £1.79 each were a little unnecessary) Portion control and over indulgence are going to be the main challenges for my family!:DStashbusting 2019 - 230/3000 -
Hi, can you put me down for £30 for the month please.
There's just me and I have loads in the freezer, so should be manageble. Hopefully will be less.0 -
