    (New Year's Resolution).

liz-paul - I routinely use cuppa soups and packet soups instead of stock for soups and casseroles. I bought a load from AF for that purpose.
The total includes food, cleaning supplies etc. for me, father, husband, son and cat. I can't have NSD as I always pick up my father's paper.

DH spent £17.06 in Mr T on the list I gave him plus a giant can of red bull to use as a drinks mixer (vile stuff) and a large jar of jalapeño peppers. This should last us the rest of the week.

We had a lovely NYE meal and I would definitely have the M&S BBQ chicken joint again.

    Happy new year everyone :)

Yes, you can freeze the ham, providing it hasn't been frozen in a cooked state before.

I had a shop today - total around £36.50, so a third of my budget gone....and still 5 weeks to go. Now I remember why I stopped doing this challenge :rotfl:

But NO! I will be strong, I will not wimp out :o

I have half a Christmas cake left, anyone [STRIKE]fancy it?[/STRIKE] know if it can be frozen? - it's a fruit cake (no alcohol), with marzipan and icing. I'd like to slice it and freeze it if poss. Can't face eating another slice now, and the size of my stomach is telling me not to, anyway! :(

    LB xx

I opened a smallholding magazine today which has a recipe for hm wine/port using leftover christmas cake. pm me if anyone is interested. Also one for a table wine from Brussels Sprouts!!!

I am super thrilled that from Christmas day til today I have spent less than £30 vs a year ago it was approx £140 a week. I feel so proud of myself!!!

Today is meal planning day, I have sooo much food, so need to ensure that there is no waste and every bit is used up in the coming days and weeks.

Have a lovely day folks x:)

Happy new year all, today is day one and I have no reason to spend any money so hopefully kick the month off with a NSD. Have to go and pick some orders up from T and A tomorrow so will have to spend as I need rabbit food.

My plan is to make January a use it up month as got lots of whoopsies on the 24th December and was on holiday for the last week.

I have 300.00 in Asda gift cards and want to see how long I can make this last. I am aiming for 50.00 a month until it runs out,

My challenge is to buy nothing unless it is mega reduced or a too good to miss offer. The freezer an cupboards are loaded
