    I've been Money Tipped!
Learn from me folks! :o It has been said many times "Failure to plan is planning to fail" I have been brought down to earth with an almighty bump this morning! I haven't taken part in the monthly grocery challenge for a long time, just picked a figure out of my head really :o £200 for the month, thinking oh that's £50 a week - I can do that! then realised it is a 5 week month duh! ok that makes it £40 a week but with all the Christmas food in that is manageable! Then I remembered that I had yet to take off the £50 I save for a quarterly Costco shop! and the £26 for the 2 organic boxes on order! (actually 3 were due but I have cancelled one of them) so £76 to come off! So now I have £24.40 a week to spend Eeek! I am going to stick to it though as the freezer is full, so no better time really! It will make me use up what we have, maybe trying out new recipes to use things up. I have already popped about 15 home made ready meals into the freezer (using up the turkey) soup, curry and turkey a la king and some sliced meats. Just the 2 of us and our little dog now with odd visits from the grown up kids and dgc so should manage. I have one or two evenings entertaining friends to dinner as well (I love a challenge) :)

My housekeeping doesn't go in until the 4th but I shall run this from the 1st as I need to start saving immediately!

    Good luck everyone!

I slice them and in zippy bag raw, as going to be cooked and softened anyway I find no deterioration in flavour.

Just had a £5 spend in market, now got a huge stew in oven for tonights guests. Have ingredients for dumplings and some tinned spuds I can saute so that should feed us all.

Also have a big mince pie left over which we can share, and some cream to pour over.

Hope they bring some beer

I am extremely short of money this month so I would like to try to keep shopping to an absolute minimum. Yesterday I did a freezer and store room inventory: DD did an A$DA shop for me too. She spent £23 on basics and DS2 is buying me some fruit and vegetables from a wholesaler today. My aim is for £120 in Januaryfor 4 adults, 2 dogs, 2 cats and 8 hens. Not sure how on earth we will do it but do it we must.
business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

  • Little spend in the butchers £10.56. My NSD's went right out of the window once I finished work for Christmas so hopefully January will be cheaper and more NSD's. Finger's crossed.

Added up spends so far from 21st Dec - £59.78 leaving just over £60 for the rest of the month to stay on budget plan. Will have to be very good for the rest of the month and stay on list at all times rather than going off list by £3-5 as tend to do before
final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333
