Make money for Xmas challenge 2014 £0/£2700 -
Count me in for January please:)
A budget for the month of £200 my actual budget is £240 but I am wanting to save £40 of this towards a vac sealer, which should help me with saving more money and wasting even less:j
Grocery budget covers me ds2&3 and Dd, plus DBf on weekends and ds1 every other weekend. Includes all food, cleaning, toiletries and medicine.
Planning on a use up month for January so this should help keep the bill low:) quite a bit of Xmas food left and lots frozen, hopefully will be able to pick up some YS bargains this month and already have a £7.50 off £50 spend voucher to use in sainsburys, so will be stocking up on baking supplies and toilet roll and other bits that we always use so it won't get wasted:) good luck everyone xNovember NSD's - 70 -
Not doing too badly, spent just shy of half my budget, got 25 days to go with already 13 meals accounted for

Will need some more dog food though and maybe some nappies in a smaller sizeSW member: 09/01/2014

Hello
£80
I am new to this forum and am very keen to use it to support me in curbing my spending and boosting my saving.
January Grocery Challenge looks like a great place to start as I fritter so much at the moment on take always and by not planning ahead.
Should also help reduce my wine intake and help my attempts at Slimming World.
Please put me down for £80 for January. This is just for me and includes all food and cleaning products. Will try to make it cover toiletries too. Excludes drinks and meals out (I have a resolution to be more sociable), but includes take always and any winenetc for home consumption.

I am sending DH to Mr T today as our NYE meal out has been cancelled due to the restauraunt mesing up the time of our booking so we are having a M&S BBQ chicken joint, corn on the cob, HM spicy wedges and salad followed by ice cream at home instead. I have everything in but the salad and a bottle of red wine for DH.
DH has been sent for the salad, wine, milk, DW tablets, bananas and veg oil and is complaining that I am sending him for a full shop! You can tell how often he does the shopping:p
I peeled and froze 5 black bananas yesterday to make choc banana bread when we have eaten the current sweet mountain.
I have also meal planned for the next 14 days to take me to the end of the month and on my shopping list so far is a jar of redurrant jelly. I am aiming not to shop again until the weekend at the earliest, Monday if I can manage it although I nee to check if I have a veg box coming on Friday.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
Well so far so good! I've only spent £4.85 in Lidls on some much needed basics. Staying with family tomorrow and Wednesday so no cooking or buying!! Still trying to get my head around meal planning but think it may be easier once the holidays are over and back to a normal routine - or is that just an excuse?!!
Wishing you all the very best for 2013 x0 -
Morning,
we need some milk today, so might pick up the couple of bits that are on my list as well, though they're not essential, so we'll see!
Quick question about onions, I seem to have millions of them lurking at the bottom of the fridge, so was thinking about freezing them, but can I just chop and freeze them or do they have to be cooked first?

I slice them and in zippy bag raw, as going to be cooked and softened anyway I find no deterioration in flavour.Do I need it or just want it.0 -
