I've discovered 4 little pots of Activia yoghurt in the fridge with a bb date of 23/12... Anyone think they would still be ok to eat/use in smoothies/cooking?
I`m not sure if I would risk it, as it`s quite a bit out of date. Maybe sniff it and a little taste just to see.Grocery Challenge 2013: July week 1 £90/£87.41

I get paid on Friday so will do another weekly shop then or on the weekend.
Ham for DP and DD's school sarnies seems to be getting really expensiveI won't buy square ham and only get carved stuff but the prices just keep going up!
Iceland do a ham deal pack 450grms for 1.75. you have t sort through as some of the packs are thick chunks but I found a pack of mustard ham that was just perfect slices and it was lovely.Slimming World at target0 -

I've been so busy I've not actually been able to log in, never mind keep up with all of the posts. I did see that Bluegreen got engaged - congratulationsand I hope I'll get to read the rest of the posts before too long.
Anyway, I digress...
Last Sunday - first shop of the year - I spent £36.25 in the shop, £12 was not on groceries but I'm including it anyway.
I also spent £2 on school lunch for my daughter today as she hasn't been eating her packed lunches recently :undecided
So I've spent a total of £38.25, which is 1.59% of my budget and we're 4.1% of the way through the year. The remaining allowance has been put into savings.
I do need to nip to the shops later, but hopefully it's just some bulbs and veg that I need. I have a pork shoulder than I'm going to put in the slow cooker so that I have something when I get home from work. I'm trying not to eat heavy carby things, but I know I'll be a bit peckish by then0 -
Aldi here has milk at £1 for a 4 pt and their bread is £0.47 and up. Aldi wholemeal bread is one of the few breads I can eat, since most contain barley malt. Thankfully theirs doesn't and to me it tastes wonderful!

On another dairy-note - I will never buy any milk other than cravendale again! Yes, it's more expensive, but I was ending up throwing out half-full cartons of the other milk, just because it was a few pence cheaper!:eek::eek: This cravendale never seems to go off0 -
picked up a few extra vegetables today so another 4.50 to add, giving 304.50 in totalTrying to keep in budget.

Done a big food shop at Aldi , spent £29.17 which is pretty much all my budget for this week (though I could go wild and spend my 0.83p i have left!) Fingers crossed, I shouldn't need Anything else now this week, stocked up bread, washing powder and tinned spag, beans and chopped tomatoes.
I've stopped letting dd1 have a School dinner once a week ,( mean mommy that I am!) as its £1.85 and she'd still eat a big cooked meal in the evening anyway, I don't think the portions are very big at school.
Going to make some flapjacks and granola with the dried fruit and bananas I got today.GC September £69.64/£2000 -
had to buy veg to go with the sausage casserole thats in the slow cooker ( 1st time using it so if it doesn't work out then budget will be over as will need to be a chippy tea) also bought rolls for packed lunches though dd never eats hers so todays spend was £2.24September GC 30th aug-4th Oct £332.74/£375 NSD 3
