Just checking in to say last week I spent £35 on the weekly shop and an extra 5 pounds on milk. Kids go through it like no ones business!
I get paid on Friday so will do another weekly shop then or on the weekend.
Ham for DP and DD's school sarnies seems to be getting really expensiveI won't buy square ham and only get carved stuff but the prices just keep going up!

Been an interesting exercise this, so far.
Mr Fluffpot managed to spend £40 on some Spanish sausages and British steaks for dinner guests - EEKK. I don't even eat meat! The carnivores did say they were fab though...
That is a bit of a one off - and he's been told...
With that slight bump, our fruit and veg is about 1/3 of the overall spend. Without that bump with would be over 40%.
I'd be interested to know if this is roughly the proportions for other people?

Grr! I'm annoyed with myself! I've lost track! I know I've failed the challenge because I'm on or around the 250mark and it isn't even halfway through the month
It is really hard to keep track of it all if you don't write it down straight off and it doesn't help that I am only in charge of the house 5 days out of 7 (work 12hr shifts at weekends with 2hrs travel time either side) and OH is THE WORST PERSON EVER for keeping track of outgoings
Must try better in Feb!No more unnecessary toiletries Feb 2014 INS: 24 UU: 13. Mar 2014. INS: lost count, naughty step for me! UU: 80 -

Well it's been an expensive week to 10 days ish, not quite sure how long since I updated my sig but since then £72.05 spent on groceries!!
£63 of this in the planned weekly shop but it did include stocking up on Weetabix (on offer in Lidl making proper Weetabix the same price as the Asda ones we normally get so got two of the big boxes for £8. Also bought a kilo gammon joint and a kilo of extra lean steak mince (also on offer in Lidl). This is the first week I have really done a two shop grocery shop, and it went well. I am planning on taking it one step further this week and writing down a list including all Asda prices before then going into Lidl and seeing what I can get cheaper.
Anyway total up to £210 now which is awesome as it includes dog food which we have never included in grocery budget before. £90 left to last us till the 25th and we should only need one shop between now and then I think.
OH is still the biggest downfall as he tends to buy bits and pieces all the time and doesn't keep receipts etc. Drives me mad!!Kitchen Debt - 2820/260Save £12k in 2013 #060: 1293.24/3000MFW: 88760.00/85000.00 (4.24% paid)0
