All the ideas for Maralum's home birth made me laugh out loud. Hope you manage to find what you need, nothing like being prepared. DS arrived twenty minutes after we had arrived at the hospital, after I was told by the delivery floor midwife when I rang in to take a couple of paracetamol and have a cup of tea...... luckily we ignored her and set off, or maybe I should have tried for an unplanned home birth??!!

I'm officially on strike. My dad managed to reverse into my car today causing damage to my rear wing and bumper, although his car was worse off. unfortunately his is a brand new focus estate that they have only had a few weeks. And according to his male logic, it was my fault because of where i had parked, even though it is no different to where i normally park. Male logic  although no offence to male flyers. I made out i wasn't bothered, but i am gutted as my car is my pride and joy even if it is 10 yrs old, and i won't get a new one very quickly. If it had been someone else i could have ranted and made myself feel better, but that just shows how stressed my dad is.

So that is my 3rd thing in a week, so i am due a change of luck now. Although if anyone has any spare positive vibes please send me some, as i can't take much more without thinking i am being picked on.

    Wednesday 25/4:
    Level Two
Dust any extra furniture in dining room, checking for cobwebs on way round
Tuesday Living Room, Hall and Stairs
    Level 1
Dusting and cobweb removal (if you want to dust round things that is fine)
    Level 2
    Vacuum sofas
Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe
Clean TV, other electricals and cabinets
    Tidy shoes, coats and bags
    Level 3
    Clean window
    Wipe light switches and banister
Vacuum under furniture (only if you won't hurt yourself doing it, don't want any injuries)
    Declutter mission task
Sort one cupboard even if it's just for 10 minutes

  • Not a good week for me, despite having started off the week well and achieved level 3 on Monday morning, having got up at 4.30. However, I would not recommend the latter as a means of getting through the list!

I am blaming the jet lag - it's a week since I got back and 'they' say it can take your body up to 2 weeks to recover from a trip to Oz. That excuse can't last for long though - and in reality I ended up going out after a conference yesterday and too much drink and food meant nothing done yesterday, and felt sluggish today so nothing today either! Got a very busy day tomorrow so not hopeful of getting alot done but will really try.

On the positive side, did manage to do a couple of loads of washing and run and empty the dishwasher.

Tomorrow is another day... at least the kitchen is still sparkly and tidy.

Evening everyone. Sorry such a late one but have been at a tutorial. Went ok actually. Found out I passed the last TMA :D

Anyway, the list for tomorrow is up should you wish to accept the challenge. It does look harsh as it's 2 rooms but neither usually take long and it means those without kids/spare rooms get Fridays off aswell so they can have a long weekend.

I will hopefully get chance to read through now before bed. I am at the dentist :( in the morning to get some work done inc replacing a crown so will probably come back moaning and my aim tomorrow is level 2 because of that. If I get higher then great! If not I'll do them at the weekend, I'll be in agony tomorrow no doubt so not going to aim too high.

scaredy cat - I also do the bed linen strip on the morning, starts me off much better
lbnblbnb - first times always weird, I used to fall over when I left the house without baby, basically because I was so used to pushing a pram I toppled :rotfl: :o
Shirley - hope you catch up on your sleep
thrifty katie hope you are feeling better tomorrow
tick - don't worry, everything comes round again, sure all of us have late start days, I know I did
pigpen hope the night went well
michelle - sorry to hear about the car, men will never accept fault when it comes to cars, well not that I have found, hope you get it sorted soon

Right then, good luck everyone :)
One day I might be more organised...........

Really busy day. Just sat down to catch up and there are so many posts I can't face catching up, sorry, feel shattered tonight.
Busy day at work, then home and quick tidy round and early tea as DH was going out to cricket practise. I did washing up, lunches for tomorrow, got washing in and put on airers the pieces which weren't dry, ironed the rest, did 2 lots of spelling practise with DS and one lot of reading, then got DS showered and ready for bed and read him stories. Then I got a text which I really needed to answer and my phone started to play up doing all sorts of bizarre things.
Not sorted even now and I wasted an hour trying to fiddle around with it.
Finally cleaned our bedroom at 9pm, will have to wait for tomorrow before it gets hoovered.

Hope everyone is ok. Hoping for a calmer day tomorrow.
...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

Just a thought michelle..... does your Dad have fully comp and is it protected? If so, and assuming they would not write your car off due to it's age, you might both be able to have your cars repaired.

Oh and maralum in true MSE Style if you are going to get bubble wrap for D day (great idea :) ) then go to Asda, they have oodles of the stuff protecting the banana's and love giving it away. Just make sure the ebayers don't elbow you out of the way first! :rotfl:
