nell2, first well done for today. PC/Desk areas. If mine gets that bad I start with empty boxes. As I go through things if I don't know where to put them they go in a box to be sorted later. Hopefully organised (say one for paperwork to be filed, one for stuff that needs dealing with ASAP, one for junk, oh and the rubbish box for anything that can be immediately dumped) Eventually the desk area/study is clear then can sort through a box at a time from there. I did this last time, ok I am still sorting through the boxes, but I can get to it. I've done the same thing in the boys room this time, everythings in a box ready to be sorted through one at a time. Breaks it down aswell.

Just a suggestion of course but works really well for me, also helps me decide what storage solutions I need to stop it happening again - like a box for shoes in the boys room, more toy boxes, cardboard files to put paperwork in, storage box for manuals/instructions and receipts, filing cabinet etc. I start from the door and work my way in when it's really bad. Had to help a friend sort a house a bit recently of a relative who had gone into care, once we eventually got through the hall (piled high with post, newspapers, magazines etc) we just started from where we could get to throwing into boxes. Was so much easier that way.

Racy Red tut tut !!! Hope you feel more motivated tomorrow. I HATE coming downstairs to washing up from the day before. **lil_me sneaks off to do the left over dishes she has just remembered about :o**
One day I might be more organised...........

    Hi All,

Posting late tonight as had terrible probs getting LO off to sleep tonight. Noisy neighbours upstairs have been shouting their heads off all night and have kept her awake ggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Had quite a good day today, managed to get our bedroom done today, it looks lovely now!!! We haven't got any carpet down in our room at the moment which is driving me me nuts and have seen some tonight on e-bay for £23 quid brand new, not the best quality but it's better than nowt, auction ends lunchtime tomorrow, so keeping my fingers crossed, warehouse is local to us too, so sounds ideal for picking it up!!!! So if all goes well, I will be laying carpet this weekend!!!

Got a freecycler coming in the morning to pick some stuff up and need to wait on a delivery as well, hope it comes in the morning, if not hubby will have to go get the carpet himself if we win (!)

Does anyone know where you can buy curtain liners from? Light nights now and was wondering whether this may be also contributing to DD still being awake later than usual. (as well as them upstairs lol)

Hoping to get some paint as well as our hall way needs touching up and want to freshen the kitchen up too - don't know whats wrong with me - decorating fever!!!

Tomorrow, will do the bathroom. PC Area is in the living room so that's already been done this week. Will give the bathroom a good scrub.

    Dailies
Hopefully not too much, gave everywhere a quick going over today. Will prob do a load of washing, quick vac through and make beds.

Hope you've all had a good day!!!

    Em x

Em - sorry to hear about the LO being kept up, lining curtains my last set came from Rosebys, my Mam has bought them from all over inc most catalogues. Until you get some I used a towel over the top of the curtain, worked wonders. Could maybe ask on freecycle ?

Thanks lil'me, never thought of that!!!! I might give that a go tomorrow night see if it makes a difference before I shell out for the liners!!! LO's normally fast asleep by 7/7.30, was gone ten tonight when she dropped off!!! Poor thing, we'll know about it tomorrow lol

Dark thick towels work the best I found. DP steals my toweling dressing gown if the light coming through window gets to him as he works late nights, only have backing curtains for the kids rooms. Also another idea, black out blinds, Argos do them, I have one in another room works wonders. http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10001&catalogId=10651&langId=-1&searchTerms=black+out+blind most are thermal too.

  • nell2 - lil_me's suggestion of some boxes is a good one. Also, set a timer for say 10 minutes, and just do 10 minutes in there and then come out and shut the door again. If some of the things in there aren't yours, then also get a box for each person and put their things in it. Plus a box for stuff to take to the charity shop / ebay / freecycle and a box for things which need to be repaired can also be useful. If you don't have boxes, even carrier bags would do.

I managed to get some of the bedroom done last night before I went to bed, so that's a little more done. Have been organised this morning, put the washing in when I got up and now I've finally read the instructions for the washing machine it should be finished with enough time for me to put it on the line before work. I've done my morning study session, and had a nice relax in the bath, so I finally feel ready to tackle the day.

Time to get dressed and tackle the bathroom, and maybe my study....

    Hooray for lil_me's TMA! :j :T :j !!!!!

Good morning to all, I hope you're all having a bright, happy morning and are raring to go!

Can't say the same here sadly :( I had an argument with DH last night and it has spilt over into today too. It ended up as spiteful backstabbing - he poured my new 'birthday' Champneys bath foam down the drain and I cried for three hours. It may sound silly, but most of the time, I don't get to have nice things. For my birthday this year, I asked my mum for a breadmaker and my dad for an ironing board, so when my MIL bought me this set, it was a real, honest, girly treat for me. He knew that and that's why he poured it away. It was calculated to cause me unhappiness and all because I put a fingerprint on one of his DVDs. It's not so much what he did that bothers me, but the fact that he sat and thought about a way to hurt me. Nasty little man. We're still at the silent stage at the moment, so I hope the baby doesn't come today.

Still, that's enough of that. I'm sick of thinking about it now.

Well, I'm aiming for level three as usual, but at some point, I have to go into town and get the rest of my labour supplies. I started feeling funny yesterday afternoon, definite rumbles in the lower midriff and I was nearly sick when I woke up this morning (Haven't felt like that since month three, so I think it may be a warning).

Oh, I am feeling so sorry for myself! Horrid man, I hope he gets indigestion today, no matter what he eats.
