As for spreading the word, between now and Christmas i will be taking part in a charity bag pack at a supermarket, so i will spread the word there as well, including to the parking attendants (TCP/Euro car parks i think)
Just be careful what "word" you spread as some of the action you have suggested that you are going to take reminds me of the book "1066 and all that".
The word is simple.- Ignore any PPC tickets you may get.
- Expect letters from the PPC and possibly fake solicitors, Debt Collectors etc
- Only get worried if you get a summons.
- Read this forum plus pepipoo
Nothing else, please !!!!0 -

Im not that familiar with that book, so thats lost on me, should i be concerned?
Im currently on the strategy of ignoring cp plus and complaining to moto, I will be going past/near that moto services in the next week or so, where I intend to pop in and complain.
Im well aware that some say its a waste of time, but I would like to make them aware that having this company on site, issuing un enforceable threats is not on.
Should i still keep to the ignore everything form CP plus route, or should i appeal? regardless of which i wont be doing anything until next weekend at the earliest, by which time the reduced offer of £50 will have increased to £90, will cp plus throw out another letter on that date?
If i do spread the word would this cause problems? im not planning on letter dropping everyone, just showing some people the original cp plus letter and then the pepipoo flyer/info.
To sum up, time scale of events:
Letter dated 13 days after the pictures were taken/so called overstay
Letter received 15 days after the 'event'
Time to pay the discount : 14 days after the letter date
£40 'admin' fee levied after 28 days
No where on the letter does it state how long you have to appeal so i will keep on ignoring, unless advised otherwise.
As for the letter chain, theres very little on the post 1st October stuff on here, or pepipoo, if any one is interested i will Scan and attempt to post any further letters from them, from what i can understand the next letter will be the same/simalar, but in Red ink, and possibly using slightly larger bold text, maybe IN CAPITALS TO MAKE IT LOOK REALLY IMPORTANT which just makes it look desperate, and a little amateur0 -
Glad to hear you are going to complain, I agree that is the way to fight back.
And it's up to you whether to appeal or not. The good thing about appealing is that you cost the scammers money to fund the POPLA procedure. And many PPCs are cancelling fake PCNs left, right and centre when they get an appeal that makes it clear the person wants a POPLA verification code.
I am SchoolRunMum on pepipoo and I posted a suggestion for an appeal on this thread below, which is designed to have a bit of a laugh - but they will probably cancel when they see you know about POPLA:

You'd need to tweak it to suit your own ticket, depending on whether it does ask who was driving. If it does then just make the appeal very short but obvious that you KNOW ABOUT POPLA.
Then if the POPLA appeal doesn't find in your favour, you go back to ignore mode as it's not binding on you.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

If i do appeal to CP plus, then it will only be via e-mail, and then towards the end of the 28 day period, using some red herring/lame duck excuses, such as you cant prove it was me that was driving, and your pictures dont show my vehicle parked.
As for going in person to moto, I will probably tell them that i think its outragous for them to allow this company to opperate on thier land, sending out letters that are nothing more than demanding money with menaces, and ask them to justify why its set at £90, as well as why theres an aditional £40 charge. I will also ask if CP plus have any land interst in the car park, or own the car park, if no then i will ask to see a copy of the contract that allows them to opperate on the land.
Any pointers on this approach would be gratefuly received.
Again there is no apparent timescale give to appeal, just a note saying that if payment is not received in 28 days an aditional adminstration fee of £40 will be incurred, making the 'fine' £130.
Some where via google i found a record of how many times parking companys took people to court for non payment, any ideas on where this is as i cant find it againhave CP plus/whatever 'debt' collection agency they use ever done court?

I wouldn't waste your breath going into the Service Station to complain. You'll only get the Duty Bozo who won't have a clue.
Remember, Moto and CP Plus are in league with each other.
VAT registration number gives you the clues.0 -

Ive searched for moto's vat number, and so far i haven't found it, i did read however that the parking company's have cleaned up their act in this respect.
As for complaining being a waste of time, maybe.
But if people just sit back then the staff at the service area will believe there is no problem.
I'm fully expecting to get fobbed off by whoever is in charge, though a few pointers on things to complain about would be helpful.
As for CP plus, i intend to ignore for as long as possible, with the exception of a basic appeal ( cameras may not be a accurate etc.), if the debt collector letters start up, i may ask them (moto and cp plus) to cease and desist sending me these letters, will they listen? could I do anything about it, or will the threat mail start to roll in, harassing me for money I don't owe?
Could they potentially ban me from any cp plus car park?0 -

Don't bother.if the debt collector letters start up, i may ask them (moto and cp plus) to cease and desist sending me these letters, will they listen?
You may ask but they won'tcould I do anything about it, or will the threat mail start to roll in, harassing me for money I don't owe?
Yes it will but you can ignore it. Why worry, it is costing them. Second class stamps are now 50p.Could they potentially ban me from any cp plus car park?
They could if they wanted to but how the hell would they enforce it?
You are taking this far too seriously, relax and laugh at them like the rest of us do.0 -
Just a brief update:
The early payment date has now passed, and nothing yet from CP plus ( i was expecting a letter )
The next key date will be the end of the 28 day period, which will be sometime in the new year.
I was going to call cp plus, but there office is either closed when i try, or it just rings off ( all our advisors are busy automated type reply )
I havent yet been able to visit the service area in question to make a complaint - in person, so that will have to wait.
For now im going to do nothing.
Have a good Christmas0 -
Communicate with this company will be your undoing.
You have been warned, you are determined to ignore the advice you have been given.
As it is now, they do not know you from a Crown court judge.
Keep it that way, you keep your strength.Be happy...;)0 -

Forgive me for saying so but I cant believe you are still considering ringing these people after all the 4 pages of advice from members/moderators that have been through what you are describing and bought the T-shirt!!
It's almost like you are attempting to talk up their legality/officialdom in the minds of readers here when they clearly have none.
Apologies for my frankness but thats how it reads to me.
Anyway, a very happy Christmas to you and your's and a healthy and prosperous new year to you:beer:
May I wish all on here who have given of their time and advice so freely and expertly a very happy Christmas and a really wonderful and prosperous 2013!:A:beer:
Thanks for everything:T0
