Please don't call it a fine. It's not, it's an invoice which you are not obliged to pay.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • just a little update.....

I was a bit miffed to receive a second letter saying " as a letter was sent to you on xxxx which gave you 14 days to pay the reduced rate or challenge its issue" instead of giving me 28 days, so i sent off an appeal.

I appealed based on these points:

The cameras may not be acurate, and as such they cant prove i was parked for this amount of time.
the charge is extremly high ( £90)

Today i have had a reply, although i cant access my emails taht well on this Bt wifi hotspot, 9 ive got a message but it wont connect to the server to tell me what it is :( )so i will let you know later this evening, my phone will pick the emails up, but ive got no signal at my current location

The op is a wind up merchant, quicker to just tell this one to pay and help genuine people.

this is the second letter i received

    cpplusletter2frontedit.jpg

As above i was miffed at the 14 days section, so i sent an appeal off to see what would happen ( this is my first parking ticket fake or not fake )
I recently received a Charge Notice number 0xxxxxxxxxx for a vehicle of which i am the Registered keeper – reg number xxxxxxx

You appear to be attempting to charge me £90, for parking which is excessive, as this is a motorway service area parking should be free,

in line with government advice about taking a break, also at the time the car park was not full.

You have provided photos showing my vehicle entering at xx:xx on the <DATE>, and leaving at <time> on the same day,

There is no supporting evidence stating the times on the cameras are accurate, and there is also no proof that my vehicle was parked stationary

on site for this amount of time, as it could have been elsewhere and a fault with the system may have caused an error.

As you have not provided any proof or other evidence that my vehicle was parked, and stationary on site for that amount of time,

and that you have not stated the accuracy of your camera system, which I believe to be in error, this charge notice is not valid.

    And this is the reply
    Dear Madam,

and with that I was under the beleif that this was then end of it, but in my mail pile today was this gem, secreted in a brown envelope, second class post from Borham wood:

needless to say I'm not happy as they havent honoured their word, if I didnt know what i do now about this parking scam I would be extremely worried.

note the poor formatting, with regards to spacing and lack of spacing..

£40.00has instead of £40.00 has and £130.0within, not very professional looking when you study the detail.

It sounds like the !!!! edit ( swear filter ) > arce doesnt know what the elbow is up to ( although with cp plus theres proabbaly just another arce ) as the fake fee should have been cancelled after the email.

Possibly a complaint to the DVLA?

Just thought i would pop in and give you a minor update...

Last letter received towards the end of January ( see previous post) threatening legal action pending, nothing since then.

the pay my pcn website is still showing that I owe them £130 however.
But for now however i will continue along my current path, and that's do nothing.
If I receive anything else then I will complain to the service area, but for now the ignore tactic appears to be working well.

    3 letters so far:
Charge notice, issued early December for daring to visit the same site twice in one day in November
Charge notice reminder, issued early January
Legal Action pending, issued late January.

    since then nothing.

We got a similar letter to this from CP Plus recently. It was at a roadchef motorway services site. We contacted the site director directly with regards to the charge and the charge notice was cancelled.
