Tesco Grocery Delivery Substitutions

It wasn't the subs that put the nail in the coffin for Tesco online, it was the out of date food they sent me, week, after week, after week, they weren't even reduced items, they came of the shelf OOD.
I was ordering for delivery the same time every week so must have been getting the same useless picker, granted they did refund everything (8 items one week!) but that was no use when it meant I then had to shopping to replace them. Never again.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Asda are constantly stupid for subs.
Ive ordered ground coffee and got tea bags, even tho they sell another 36 types of ground coffee, i dont drink tea, ive never ordered tea bags for as long as i have shopped with them,
I ordered fennel (a root veg) and get a bag of dill in its place.
Black bed sheet and black pillow cases and got brown pillowcases.
Pack of black mini briefs and got multi coloured full on big granny pants.
And many more i cant remember...
A driver told me a customer ordered a packet sauce worth around 57p and she got given a toaster.!0 -
I was thinking of switching to Tesco after the trouble ive had with Asda this week, but they sound just as bad, and they dont do many of the items that Asda do online.0

I've just swtiched from Tesco to Sains for my home delivery...and I only stayed with Tesco as long as I did because I was on one of those 6 month contracts to get cheaper delivery. The amount of things they didn't have in stock was getting more and more, but what really peed me off was that my local store (which isn't that big) would have the item there on the shelf pretty much any time of day. I always go and get some things in person, as I like to choose my own meat, fruit and veg, but I was doing half a shop each time instead of just a top up0

I switched to Asda a few months ago, so far the subs have been pretty good, or if they can't find a suitable sub they just cancel the item from the order.
Tesco subs were rather quite bizarre at times, I remember a pack of sausages being subbed with those frozen crispy pancake things  I'm not sure how they worked that one out0 -

I just find this hilarious, wonder if it was bread sauce that was ordered. How can anyone give a toaster in place of a packet sauce.0 -

As I started this, I thought I would comment again.
I've had no really strange substitutions since my original post but after my delivery today am left scratching my head.
We are a small family of two adults...... and that's it. No substitutions but the use by dates left me fuming. Have to eat a full sized Finest loaf of bread by tomorrow, and a pack of coriander, 16 satsumas, 2 salmon filets and smoked salmon sandwich slices by Wednesday (recipe ideas appreciated).
Rang customer services to have a bit of a moan and the lady on the line was lovely. She couldn't make head nor tail of what the picker had done (apparently they can see aborted attempts at scanning). She has refunded everything I mentioned plus the delivery charge without me even thinking to ask this.
I couldn't be more specific with my sub requests / use by dates. How difficult can it be for the staff in store?????...........0 -
I could see the logic with my favourite random sub, but definitely no evidence of common sense...
among my shopping list was a tub of hummus and 3 packets of filled fresh pasta. For the hummus, I got hummus (of course); for the 3 packs of pasta, I got... hummus. Three packs. I obviously liked hummus enough to buy one pack, but I'd struggle to get through a kilo of the stuff in a week, and it certainly isn't a filling meal on its own!0
