Just went to get quotes for my car, the three garages I called didn't bother to call me back :( So I went up the road to the one I know I can walk back from. He's quoted me £220ish for the work on the nearside rear door, said it'll be the same price if I want the offside one done. Also the service will be about £120. Crashing into walls is not cheap :( but it needs to be done as it's down to the metal and I'm worried that salt will get into the paintwork over winter and cause rust. At least I have the money available to pay for it, so with that and the watch for OH it puts the sum up to around £790 I'm going to spend of the £1000. We shall see if that changes at all after they've done the work. I also won't have a car for a few days :( best not have to go anywhere then grr.

Morning, morning, morning.Have been up bright and breezy this morning, well for me anyway, and put the car in for service and bodywork repairs. I've bitten the bullet and told them to try to get both sides done if they have time, saves me having to go back to get the other side done next month. It does mean my savings will be slightly impaired this month as bodywork repairs + service will cost over £500  but the car will be all shiny and new again so less of an embarrassment. It might actually stop OH giving me a hard time about hitting walls, albeit accidentally.
I caved in, after weeks of there being nothing on iPl4yer, and ordered N3tflix last night. We're on the one month free trial and after that it's only £5.99 per month which is still cheaper than a tv license and doesn't have adverts. I've hacked the xb0x so we get the US version which has SOOOOO much more than the UK version :D I did have to buy 12 months of xb0x live, however I found a deal for 13 months for £29.99 which worked out about £3 per month and used my weekend fleabay sales to pay for it :D So now I have umpteen films and tv shows I can watch happily yay.

Our freezer is absolutely chocker full of food at the moment and I'm waiting for 100 foil trays to arrive. I ordered 24 packs of cat food this month which saves on postage, however I think next month I'll reduce this as it's taking up about 3 drawers in the freezers and could do with it taking up no more than 2 drawers really. If I order just enough for one month then that should be a little bit easier for us with our batch cooking.

This week my batch cook is going to be some kind of pie and OH is going to make some kind of pasta thing that we can shove in the freezer. Then we have sweetcorn with roasties for tonight with some steamed veg, and the rest of the week will be out of the freezer. I've been trying to work out what cycle we need to do to make sure we always have food in the freezer but that we're adding to it and eating it at the same time. My maths is failing me. I'd like to get it so we're not having one week where we're cooking every single day of the week, but maybe cook two batch meals each week therefore taking away quite a bit of the stress from cooking. I'll give it a go and see what happens I think.

Today I am a grumpy pregnant lady, my hips are sore from lying on them all night long. I've worked out baby is about 4lb now, which is half the weight of my cat lying on my hips each night. Not a lot I can do about it though, she's only going to get bigger! The cat is still growing too, although not actually getting much heavier than the last time I weighed her. Chloe is a decent 9lb and Leo almost 12lb!I also have either a cold or a sinus infection, either way it's making me feel lousy and all I want to do is curl up and sleep. But then the baby gets hiccups or starts kicking, which accompanied by heartburn really isn't much fun.
I've also been spec'ing up a new desktop so I can play 'puter games. I'm not a fan of playing them on the laptop and using OH's machine isn't really plausible because he wants to be on it when he gets home. Ho hum, I shall just spec it up and then not buy it :) It's sat at about £800 now whoops!
Good news for today, let's end on a good note, the little seeds I planted have started to germinate :) Rocket is in the lead followed by thyme and jalapeño :D

Well, you could look on the bright side. There won't be room for the cats to lie across you hips soon, just think what it would be like with all three there!

The last stages of pregnancy are a bit uncomfortable, but try and enjoy it. It's a special time in a woman's life, quite unique. You are a very lucky lady.

  • Oh I remember many sleepless nights in the last trimester with ds2! I had too much water (forget the technical name now?) And by the end a 9 and a half lb baby in there I would wake up everytimer I accidently rolled onto my back as he was completely squashing my insides (lovely picture I paint lol) he totally put me off ever having anymore lol! I hope you've go a nice 7lb one by the end so won't be too uncomfortable ;)

We seem to make 7lber's in this family, so fingers crossed. I was stupid and ran to get to the postbox before the postman left, didn't need to run as he was running late. As soon as I got there I felt some tightenings and I think her head is now firmly wedged in my pelvis! Or that is how it feels anyway. She's been wriggling like anything ever since as well which I'm finding uncomfortable but tolerable. I'm currently on the sofa with my feet up as, although I want to tidy up, every step I take is quite uncomfortable and I can feel quite a bit of pressure in my nether regions grr.

Anyway finances...I seem to have spent all my £200 I had leftover, or was it £300. So no more spending for me. Out of the £1000 I had extra I have just paid just under £554 for repairs to the bodywork and a full service. I could have serviced it myself for cheaper, but they wouldn't let me buy and fit the parts :( Quite a setback really :(
Anyway, this PC I've decided I have to get has now been priced up as £622 with some shopping around. OH would need to build it for me and I've decided that fleabay sales can pay for it :) So I currently have £99.15 towards it. Something out for something in remember ;) Plus someone is going to come and take my old mixer off me for £25, so that puts me around the 20% mark :D
Some more seeds have germinated now, there's a few chilli/pepper ones that have sprouted and a few of the herbs yay. I've also had the blackboard paint & pens arrive, so when I go to pot them up I can write lovely little labels on them :D My only concern is there might not be enough light for them, but I keep checking in the morning to make sure they get the good light.
Thoroughly enjoying n3tflix, definitely worth the £5.99 a month as I'm now watching Tud0rs, well something has to get me through the last 2 months. Although, with my coat on you wouldn't even know I was pregnant. People are going to wonder where the baby came from! :)
Hope you're all ok, I need to catch up on diaries xx

Hello Mrs B and Happy :) Lovely to see you drop by and don't worry Happy, at least you own your own home, we are still renting. I probably have been over-doing it a little bit, so am prescribing no more running to the postbox :)I've just been in the garden for the past hour, I went out there to look for a seed tray that I couldn't find so no idea where that is. Ended up using the hoe type thing on the veg to aerate and uproot weeds. I've also loped back the tree that was taking over the back of the garden so now we can actually walk down the path again :D
I've also done some research on how to grow seeds, I know it might sound simple, but I didn't realise you had to take them out the propagator when they start to germinate so they don't grow spindly. Luckily I already have a white light SAD light, so when I go to find the seed tray in a minute I shall be placing the germinated ones under that so they can grow big and strong, instead of weak and spindly trying to get to the light.

I had a consultant appointment today as I'm 32w :D next one booked for 36w. They've reduced my thyroxine as I'm thyrotoxic, my T4 count is way above the norm at 33 and should be in the low 20's. What that means is I'm not putting on weight and can lead to baby not growing, but as it stands she's growing fine and I'm just measuring small :) They made me do another growth scan and they've booked another for 36w to be on the safe side.

Even better news, OH's debt with Ll0yds which has been passed to a DCA...they've accepted his offer of f&f, well partial settlement but pfft that'll be fine as will be gone before we get a mortgage, for 33% :D I did a dance for him round the kitchen then text him to let him know as he wasn't answering his phone. That's saved him about £5k off the debt and makes him debt free when he pays it. Whoop whoop hip, hip hooray.

Ooh and other news, OH is going to give me £125 towards the car service which is half the amount :) as he uses the car as well. So all in all a good day.

Now do I put the £125 towards the PC as I wasn't expecting it...or do I put it towards the savings? I can't decide.

Good morning you lovely lot. I've just sold my old mixer to someone on the FB group for £25 :D so I've put that into the PC pot and along with some more fleabay sales I now have £138.77 to go towards it yay. I might go take a photograph of the Singer sewing machine we have that OH wants rid of and stick that up there for the £20 he paid for it and see if it goes. Might be cheeky and ask for £25, they can always barter I guess. Otherwise that can go on fleabay and see if it'll sell there.

I still have £371.35 left from the £1000 extra from O/T this month and I'm going to try my best not to spend very much of it. This doesn't include the £125 the OH needs to give me towards the car service, I might try to grab that off him tonight as that'll put me back up at £500 again which looks better than £371.
I've flung open all the windows in the house this morning to air the place out and the cats are looking at me like I'm mad. Chloe has the coldest feet ever and is sat on me trying to keep warm. She should go put a jumper on :p

Another little plant has sprouted, this time it's the sweet basil but I'm waiting for it to grow a little taller (it's merely peeking up out of the soil atm) before I transfer it upstairs to the SAD light. That'll make 4 little plants so far :D

Ooh and what a naughty little cat Leo is, I came down this morning and he'd run off with my jaffa cakes! So I scoffed the remaining 3 this morning for breakfast and thought of you DFw, one for you, one for me and one for the baby :D

NCT class last night was good, I still feel awkward around people I don't really know. I found it easier to talk to them about the games we were playing than to strike up conversations. I will get the knack of it eventually I hope. They were all really lovely though and hoping this will be the start of a network of people I know in Bristol :)

Right, off to hunt out the choccie fingers, who's for a brew?
