Fear of JSA being stopped.

If you don't want to be sanctioned you need to attend the interview. You could sell something to raise the money eg CDs, DVDs, games, jewelry, ipod etc etc. To be entitled to JSA you need to stick to the terms of your JS agreement. Not turning up to the interview is going to be a lot more hassle in the long run.0

I have friends but not any that would give me even £2.50 let alone £5, they are tight themselves most of them paying off student loans an a few have kids to feed and I can't ask them for it because I wouldn't want to put them and their children at risk for food for themselves when they struggle already.
You wouldn't be asking them to give you any money, just to lend you a fiver for a day!0 -
go to the jobcentre and ask for the bus fare, make sure to get details of who you speak to, even put it in a letter and keep a copy, say you are more than willing to go but do not have the fare, if they do sanction you, then at least you will have something to fight with, also do not be afraid to tell your MP, you can email your MP and they will always reply to you, make sure to include your name and address in the email or they are not allowed to answer your email.
Good luck mate.0 -
Well I was at the JC on the dot of 9am.
I waited in line and let people with their booklets go in first.
I asked the lady at reception if she could tell what a travel warrant is and she looked at me dumbstruck, so I then asked again if they do travel warrants would I be able to get one for tomorrow and she went through the back door where security usually is and presumably upstairs to people with the knowledge.
She came down and said that they don't supply them at all, I knew it'd be a pointless task to ask but I asked her if they could lend me £5 for a bus fair for tomorrow, she came out with the expected reply that they need proof of a fare.
I'd ask to see my adviser personally but you can't do it here without an appointment, which is annoying when I can see he isn't dealing with anyone from where I was standing so presumably he isn't busy and I don't get to see him till 19th of December and no I can't phone to make a sooner appointment they don't allow that here you can only put an appointement further ahead if you can't make it, and you can't speak to an adviser over the phone here neither god knows why I mean if I need help then why have an adviser if I can't make use of them?
I've actually tried contacting the interviewer by phone and email from the information sheet given, I tried email first put I get the post master delivery failed notification thing I tried 4 different ways and 5 different operating systems and I still got the same error which means that I typed in email wrong or it's an invalid address that doesn't exist, I know I typed it in right so I know it's an email address that doesn't exist, I also tried looking for the website the place is called "BlueArrow" I tried using their "Contact Us" section and oddly enough when I finished trying to email them that way I also got an error and I've tried 4 of my hotmail addresses and 2 of my yahoo addresses so it's nothing to do with any email server problems it's their end.
I phoned the number on the information sheet they gave at JCP when I seen my adviser and the phone just rings....literally just rings there's no voice mail or anything and I tried 4 times during the day and another 2 times after I posted this thread an still it just rings, i am in a way believing it's possible that this interview thing is fake and one of the supposed "Ghost Job Applications" I've heard about that they send some people on to monitor and check what people say.
I'm not at all happy with the service they have given me at all nor am I happy that they have possibly given me a interview which doesn't exist, someones going to be in big trouble with how I'm being treated.0 -
Good for you for making an effort like.
But its only a fiver. Is there no way you can borrow it or get someone to give you a lift?0 -
Blue arrrow is likely not the company name but the address of the agency handling the interviews as Blue Arrow is the name of a huge employment agencyI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
Jeez. People travel for years with no money just for the opportunity to work illegaly in this country. Whereas natives seemingly can't travel "a little distance away". I know which I'd employ.0

I know it's just a fiver, a fiver I don't have or can borrow from anyone and I can't get a lift I'd cycle there if I could if it meant getting there.
And I know what BlueArrow is it shown on their website when I tried using that to contact them that way, I just find it suspicious that their contact form didn't work on there, the email address given didn't work, the phone number doesn't work, it seems far too dodgy for my liking by the JCP.
I actually look forward to getting work that way I can save up money for a solid year so I can study abroad to study Japanese and then take a Uni course in Game Design, I want to do something with my life not have the Job Centre try dismantling my dreams, I do my part of the agreement and more, they should atleast try to fulfill their end of it.0 -
When you get your payment and after you have given your father housing costs please do not give any more away to your family. They were prepared to leave you with nothing to live on. Surely they get their own benefits and could use their own money rather than leave you without?
I'm sure a friend would lend you a fiver with promise to pay back this week but I do know its difficult to ask.
Good luck with the job interview Rainlight.0 -
Have you even tried to ask any of your friends/family? You are assuming that they don't have a fiver, but they might actually be prepared to give up something for a whilst if it means they can help a friend get a job. I know students are not rich, but there is surely one who can spare £5.0
