DH has tried to sort out the tap in the bathroom and it leaked ALOT...turns out the hose if kn@ckered! so he's gone off to B&Q armed with the card to get another one. Why are things never easy?!?
I did the matchstick Rising and it doesn't appear to be working! Sigh!!!0 -

That's great if he's not smoking at all :T - I know so many people who've found themselves then addicted to the replacement "thing" ... it's now trying to gradually reduce that reliance .... it's not an easy thing to do ... believe me!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Good morning,
DH totally full of a cold, DD a bit bunged up and I've got a bit of the sniffles, there's only DS who's ok so far.
The good news is that DH managed to fix the new tap in the bathroom.
Checked online banking this morning and all is ok so far.
I've had a play about with the spreadsheets with regards to the groceries etc and I think I've nearly got it sorted for the New Year but they need a bit of tweaking still until I'm 100% happy with them.
DH is out with site again this evening, he's not out for long mainly because he said he feels like crap.
Hopefully I'm cleaning today, if I've not heard from her by the time its the school run, I'll nip round anyway as she usually hides a key for me, will be in and out quickly.
Can't believe that we've only got today and tomorrow left and then we finish for the year...how exciting!0 -
HI Purple, loving the new diary, sorry things are going a bit haywire at the minute.
To be honest I can't wait to see the back of this year and start again, don't know if i should start a new diary or not though.0 -

Morning,
Ouch lurvlyloz, I used to hate working Christmas Eve. When I used to work in the office we had a choice if you worked Christmas Eve you got New Years Eve off and vice versa. I feel for you!
So DD appears to have picked up this nasty horrid cold bug that's going around. She's very bunged up, snotty and generally a horrible moo! Have dosed her up with Calpol and will take it in to school today for her.
Have checked online banking and DH's expenses and my wage has been paid in. We need to go easy with it and try not to overspend, especially as we've got DD's coming out over the next few weeks.
The kids finish today at the usual time, which is good as most of the schools around here are finishing at lunchtime. They go back on the 8th January...which seems a lifetime away but it's not, it's only a few weeks. DH is back at work on the 2nd January, so not much time off for him.
Will sort out the three savings accounts I have with regards to the various 'pots' and decide what I'm going to use them for come the New Year. None of them have huge interest rates so I'm not likely to make anything that way. I'm tempted to keep one of them just for building up money to pay it off the credit card? The other two split between the house and other things.
I need to nip to Tesco's today and get the last of the Christmas shopping, I was tempted to go tomorrow after climbing club but I feel that it may be too much hassle.
Which reminds me, I need to pay for the next set of climbing sessions for DS for the next term...something for tomorrow.
I need to try and get motivated I guess.0 -
Yay the holidays have finally started!
Managed to get the rest of the food shopping and even though we agreed that we wouldn't go mad....we have a bit, still at least it will see us through January lol
The downstairs is nice and tidy, having thrown nearly a full bin bag full of the kids drawings and penless tops and broken pens etc out. I feel ready to start Christmas totally now. Once the kids are in bed, I'm going to make a start on some of their presents and get them under the tree and the rest I will do tomorrow night
I've gone through the finances and have totally set up the the new spreadsheets for the three bank accounts I have...I have split them up in to three different areas and what will go in to each account. I want to be able to put aside £50 pm at the moment in an effort to build them up...looking at the figures this 'should' be doable but will take a lot of effort on the NSD's side of things.
I think initially the CC will take a battering with regards to the gas/electric bill but once things get moving, this should ease off and will come down but we'll see how it goes.
DH and DS have gone out on their bikes, so DD is playing on the PS3 and I'm checking out the diaries. Once they come back we are off to the pub to meet up with some friends of ours.0 -
Hope you have a fantastic christmas .0

Thank you PWPS the same to you and everyone here, lets hope next year brings lots of fun, happiness and lots of debt reduction
:xmassign:
Finally I think we are prepared for the Big Day tomorrow, having had DH go to Tesco's early this morning and my trip with DD earlier on, if we haven't got it now well it's just tough! I refuse to spend any more in there.
DH has gone out on his bike...I think he needs the space lol He can't stay in and do nothing. DS is on the Wii and DD is playing with her Hello Kitty bits.
I'm itching to get things moving but can't yet, so they'll have to wait and I'll just have to go with the Christmas Flow
Have a very Happy Christmas xxx0
