No your not the only one purple, Constant bickering and 'I'm bored' fom DS is driving me mad, DD is not too bad as she will use her own initiative and can go and get paints oyt or craft activities etc, DS needs that school enviroment where things are structured.
Sounds as though you have a busy day ahead, have fun!!0 -
Went to Makro and spent £89, of which £45 is party stuff, my friend is giving me half of that back so not too bad. The laundry stuff will keep us going for a little while.
Went to the chemist to collect DH's prescription and there's a manufacturing fault with this particular item. Went round to the Dtr and apparently there is only ONE, yes one! dtr there today and she is running behind so chances are I won't get the prescription now until Monday  the receptionist said she'd mark on it urgent and to ring this afternoon to see if it had been done.
Both of the kids misbehaved this morning and initially I was going to send them to their bedrooms, however I changed it and they did their chores and other bits besides. They've been quiet ever since
Washer is on and the school stuff is being sorted.
Tomorrow I am going to Croydon to buy DD's birthday presents, she's got a list an arm long!
Plan next week is to get the ironing done and get the house sorted, DD wants to go back to the cinema next week on her birthday to watch Planes so that's another expense but it is her birthday.0 -
Back again
Such a lot has happened over this past few weeks. Went back to the Doctors to discuss my blood test results and she booked me in for another one (which I had on Monday) this one is to test my parathyroid...researching on the internet, if my thyroid is malfunctioning it can cause the Vitiligofind out the results on Monday and then possibly book to see the Doctor again.
In other news, DD's birthday party and subsequent birthday went well as did the second trip to the cinema
Since DH has started his new job, we've been dropping him off at the station every morning and picking him up again - he's been there a month already! and so far so good and I'm sure its been saving us a bit of money already.
My car is finally booked in for an MOT and Service tomorrow, I'm dreading how much it'll cost due to it being nearly 3 years since it was last done however once it's done, it's done!
Good News!!! DH was paid today as was I, calculations done and some bills paid. Can't get excited with the money that is in the account as it needs to last us a whole month.
Aiming to restart with the AFD's come September, have booked myself down for 15 but we'll see, not going to beat myself up if I don't manage it.
Need to restart the NSD's as well and I need to get a full months menu plan sorted...this I will work on over the next few days. Good thing is that the shopping was delivered today, so I have a full freezer in which to work from
Feeling very confident now, things should be back on track for the first time in a long time!0 -
Good morning,
Nearly the end of the Summer Holidays :j Roll on Wednesday
Ok confession time...The credit card has gone up again (sigh!) DH wanted a new bike and my car was serviced and MOT'd. My car was over £1k due to many things going wrong with it, but as it hadn't been serviced for 3 years, I was expecting it to be a lot worse than that.
As for the new mountain bike, to be honest DH did say he wanted one but I expected him to get it out of his redundancy money. We did discuss it after andI told him I wanted to pay at least half of what has just gone on the CC off, anyway after much discussion, it has been agreed that £1k will be paid off outof the redundancy and DH will put his old bike up for sale and the proceedsfrom it will also go off the CC....we'll see!!
DH wants to try and keep as much of the redundancy as possible then if thisjob doesn't work out and he gets potted before his probationary period is up,we still have the buffer...I understand that so we'll see how it goes.
So for the moment the VC is higher than it was at the beginning of the year.Got a lot of work to get it under double figures before the end of the year.
In other money related issues.
Online banking has been checked and spreadsheet updated
Menu plan has been sorted for the month now we both knowthat we spend last month eating carp and that we need to change this.
September personal plan:
15 AFD's
15 NSD's
Avoid Tesco's, only go when necessary.
Walk to and from school as much as possible.
Sell stuff still.
Sell DH's old bike.
Get my health in a reasonable state.
I have to go back to the Doctors tomorrow morning to find out the results of my blood test, then I can decide how to proceed. I do think my thyroid is acting up as there are days when I feel very lethargic and grumpy but will see what comes back first.
I have told the kids that we are going to be walking to and from school as much as possible once school starts, to be honest I cannot see why we can't,think it's mainly laziness on my part.
I have Wednesday to me as the school I work at has an inset day, I plan to use this day as my chance to relax...a 'me' day
Taking the kids to the park this morning and catching up with a friend.
Need to go to Boots and Tesco's but will do that later this afternoon. I'm aiming that this is the last time I will go this week.
Not going down without a fight!0 -
Still following hope all is okay xx0

Life getting in the way is not how I wanted this year to go. Everything has been getting on top of me/us and financially we are haemorrhaging money like its tap water!
A HUGE part of me wants to say 'what the hell...not going to try any more'
A small part of me is thinking....'don't be stupid'
This past two months have been a nightmare car wise, had my car serviced and it needed - new clutch, new brakes, new battery and new fuel sensor. DH's car needs a service but hasn't been yet but has needed a new windscreen plus week before half term his car caught alight and has had to be fixed (thankfully not too much damage due to help from the quick thinking actions, rightly or wrongly by a certain person). PLUS to top it all both cars needed taxing.
The good thing is that the cars have been taxed for 6 months, therefore come Feb/Mar next year, I can then get the 12 months again.
Hubby had an argument with MBNA recently because we were one day late in payment, they took us off the 0% deal....but it got resolved in the end and they've put us on a 1.9% deal instead.
I have an idea of how much the credit card has gone up but haven't got the guts at the moment to look at it.
Have been feeling for the past few weeks that I should write in this diary but also whether I should even have the right to be on here anyway as I don't seem to be making any headway debtwise like other people on here seem to be doing.0 -
Hi purple, we all have times when things go wrong and it all seems out of control.
So start today as day one again, what has happened has happened and can't be changed, Take a look at the CC, see how much it is and then think about what you can do to start paying it off.
You have taken the first step you have come back and started posting again and I'm sure someone will come along soon with much better advice than I can give you, but in the meantime I'm sending you a huge hug:grouphug:.0 -
Hi PWPS,
Thank you x0 -
I was thinking last night about how I used to be a few years ago when I started this journey and how drastically things have changed, granted the recession hasn't helped but there is no excuse for plodding is there?
Okay so good news is that my hours have officially gone up and I'm now on 15 contracted hours but have got one extra hour not contracted.
Have sold a few things on Amazon over the past few months which has been swallowed up by everyday stuff.
Have tried to keep my drinking under control and so far I've managed 7 days, not many but small steps...I don't think I am an alcoholic, however I do think that I have a problem that I can sort out.
Meal planned for last month and was surprised that we had some food left overaiming to do the same with this months shopping.
Still not looking at the big CC, however I have paid £5.59 from Amazon off the small CC...yes this was supposed to have gone when we did the balance transfer but it didn't all go over. Have been thinking that may be, anything I get from Amazon or FB could get paid off the CC regardless of the amount???
I need to have a look at the spreadsheet and see what we've got in the account and what is due to come out, I get paid tomorrow and its three weeks until DH gets paid lol.
Will do that later, DD wants the laptop.0
