So today is a new day. Online banking checked and nope no one has suddenly dropped in a few hundred pounds for us :o

Had a result yesterday not just with the short listing for the job I applied for but I sold three items on FB, so £6 made there, the lady is coming to collect Thursday morning :D

Had a NSD yesterday and aiming for another one today. The lack of personal money helps as I'm less inclined to spend it.

Flyladying again today and today's list looks like this:

Tuesday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level One - Done
    Level Two - Done
    Level Three
Make time for somebody else, a child, a pet, a friend - in memory of our friend Diva
    HHMe time for everybody
    Clean the sink/DW/WM drawers
    Extras
    [STRIKE]HHPaperwork or bill paying/budget updating[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Dust any surfaces which need it[/STRIKE]

At least doing the flyladying keeps me from the shops :rotfl:

DS has football club after school today and we are walking to school again this morning, despite the rain.

Nothing much else to report yet but no doubt I'll update later :)

Have a good day everyone x
  • I may have had a break through, although I'm not counting my chickens yet!

I've just gone through my finances spreadsheet and I've calculated wrong...I have no idea how...so if we are careful we 'may' just scrape through this month intact.

    Morning PMO2

I love it when I find I have duplicated something on my spreadsheet. Its amazing how many hours I can spend tinkering with it :o. Fingers Crossed you can scrape through :T:T:T
  • Morning Steph,

I did a rough estimate of what will be left in the account once the rest of the DD's come out on the 1st against what will roughly be coming out on top of that, such as DH & my petrol, food etc.

It appears that I added something that only goes out once DH gets paid...ditzy bird!!

Will be keeping a very close eye on the account over the next few days and see if I am right :D

    Morning,

A quick update before I head off to proper work.

I did my cleaning job this morning and the lady has got one of those VAX steam cleaner things, she told me how to use it but neglected to tell me how to put water in it...I tried for 15 minutes to figure out how to do it but gave up in the end. Her DH normally works from home on a Wednesday but he wasn't about today so I couldn't even ask him.

Washing up was done this morning and put away, first load of washing is in the TD and the second load is in the washer. Chores day for the kids today when they get home from school.

Use some of my cleaning money to pay for DS's Wednesday lunches at the school, that takes me up to half term, so will settle the rest once they go back to school.

    Flylady today looks like this:

Wednesday - Living Room, hall and stairs
    Level One - Done
    Level Two - Done
    Level Three
[STRIKE]Declutter anything that doesn't belong in this room[/STRIKE]
Give all the remote controls and phones a wipe
    [STRIKE]Dust the mantle and tv[/STRIKE]
    Extras
    Eat a frog
    Clean and polish some shoes
    [STRIKE]recycle any old newspapers/magazines/catalogues (eg Argos[/STRIKE]

I don't get the whole frog thing?!? We had a frog hiding in a bucket in the garden a few days ago.

Resisted Mr T's again today, so far so good. I think that puts me on NSD #6 today as I didn't spend anything there yesterday.

Buyer coming tomorrow to collect some clothes I sold and its DH's birthday too...kids want to buy daddy a cake, so won't be a NSD then lol

Right off to work, will update later xx
  • I've been to work and done that and come home. Sorted out the load that was in the TD and put the last load from the washer in the TD.

Avoided Tesco's like the plague and have made it to NSD #6 with today being my third day in a row. I'm trying to avoid spending my personal allowance and keep hold of it instead, £20 a week is a lot of money especially when I just spend it on carp from Tesco's.

Have decided I'm going to walk to the school this afternoon as the sun is shining and we actually have some blue sky :) seems a shame to waste it sitting in the car on the plus side it will save me some petrol and it is really only a 10 minute walk so the fresh air will do me some good too.
  • Hi PMO2.

You are doing so well with your NSD.s Have you signed up for the February one yet? I have gone for 25 days again , not sure how that will pan out with it being a short month but will see how we go.
Some people might be more strict at it than me. I only count a No Spend as something that isn't in my budget.
So food, petrol, usual bills are not counted. I know some people even count regular bills. I doubt I would manage 1 NSD if I did that :).

Wish we lived a little closer to school. We are just under 2 miles and when our car was out of action one day last week. I really enjoyed walking to school with the dog.
The children were abit whiny on the way home, but it was the reaction of half the parents that put me off.
They were all astounded that I had walked so far and kept mentioning it for the rest of the week, saying how I should have asked them for a lift. :rotfl:. felt quite embarrassed in the end.

Hope you are having a good day. xx
  • Evening,

Steph - Yep, I'm signed up for the February NSD challenge. At the moment if I don't spend anything from my personal spends for the week I count it as a NSD, once I have the hang of that then I may think of other bits that I could include :D

The kids were surprised that we walked home today...DS said to me 'I bet we're in the car!' I said no and DD looked at me and said 'Are we walking?' which resulted in a big 'YESSSS!!!' from the kids. I don't know why they like walking but it is a great help to me that they do.

The walk resulted in catching up with another mum whos DD is in my DD's class and as a consequence my DD has been invited round for tea and play time after school on Friday, which is nice as I like the girl and get on fab with her mum (a lot are too cliquey at school).

So on to the Flylady stuff, have managed to get levels 1 & 2 completed so far this week and both kids have done their chores so even less to sort housework wise the rest of this week.

Dinner tonight is undecided, we have some steak to use up & we have pizza in the freezer too so will see what DH wants when he gets home.

Sorted out the clothes for the buyer tomorrow, so that's one less job.

Nothing much else to report money wise x
  • Morning,

Well DH liked his presents we got him, so that's a relief.

DD didn't want to go in to class this morning and was in floods of tears, admittedly she did slip on the grass in the playground and ended up with some mud on her...I'm feel cruel as I told her off for it; if the headteacher had seen her she'd have been in trouble.

Buyer collected the clothes, just hope she likes them.

Had a phone call from my manager to ask me to go to another school today and tomorrow, so that's a bit more overtime as I didn't get out of there until 2pm last week when I was over there.

DD has Rainbows tonight and the kids and I are going to Tesco's after school as they feel DH needs a birthday cake lol :rotfl:

DH is off out for a few pints after work, he said last night that his colleagues seem to think that it's going to be a session and he said no as he wants to see the kids :D

    Flyladying done for today :D

Put £15 of petrol in my car...I think its evaporating lol seriously though it has lasted me longer than I thought it would when I filled my car up so more walking required me thinks to eak out this lot.

Haven't checked the bank account or updated my spreadsheet, will do that later.

Have a good day, off to work now x
