  • Morning world,

So not feeling it today, I should be organised but I've woken up with a case of CBA. The kitchen looks ike a bomb site and I'm not in the mood to sort it out now.

Curtain pole was put back up last night by DH, he got some longer screws from site and he says it should now stay put...hope so!

Have updated my spreadsheet :D and checked online banking.

We might possibly have my friend come over tonight, she's back in the UK from SA visiting, it'd be great to see her, its been ages since I saw her last.

Filled out my application form last night, so need to print off my covering letter and then I can take it over to the college and drop it off...fingers crossed I'll get an interview.

Walking to the school with the kids this morning too.

Right off to get motivated, have a good day x

  • Hi diary and everyone,

Things have been a bit hectic the past five days so I've not been able to log on properly.

Today I managed to update the £2 and 20p Savers Clubs :)

DH's first payday of the year today and for once we managed to stay within budget so from today until the 15th February I am aiming to keep this momentum going.

Had a disaster with Tesco's trying to order food and ended up ordering it through Sainsbury's...as I ordered over £100 I got free delivery which is more than Tesco's give me :money:I still had to go to Tesco's to get the rest of the shopping though as there are bits in there that we prefer...Total shopping so far: £215.00 but I have enough to give me plenty of ideas for meals.

I've filled my car up and I'm aiming to keep the petrol in there as long as possible before I need to fill up again.

Have spent £2.19 out of my personal budget for the week and we are nearly half way through the week :)

Have transferred over £50 to the relevant savings accounts and I'm aiming to do this regularly in order to build the pots up.

Okay bad news time - I haven't kept up with the reducing alcohol during the week...I need to get a grip on it...I do enjoy my wine though.

Will do a better update tomorrow xx
  • Good morning,

Not such a good day today, spoke to my friend yesterday and his wife is quite poorly; she had a severe chest infection over Christmas and ended up in A&E yesterday, it appears that she's got a cracked rib (due to coughing) and a cracked vertabrea (sp?) as she fell out of bed a few days ago...she is in her 80's and the two of them are my closest friend's who I love dearly and worry about, not just her because of her age and lack of mobility but him as well as he is in his late 60's and will be devastated if she dies...they really are true soulmates :(

I've made it known that they can ring me if they need anything, their children live a fair way away (at least an hours trip) where as I'm just around the corner.

Anyway on to all things money wise...

Checked online banking and all is looking good, haven't updated my spreadsheet since last week so I need to look at getting that done.

I think I may have an allergy to wine as the past day or so I've been itching like crazy not long after I've been drinking it...it could be psychosematic I guess as I know I want to cut down but the itching is driving me mad...will see if it settles down and get some Piriton if it doesn't.

DD has Rainbow's tonight, so need to pay subs and insurance but it's included in the budget as I knew it was coming up.

Haven't done any Flyladying this week.

Snow is on the way this end over the next two days, I'm hoping we don't get it too heavy as DS has his climbing club on Saturday and he won't be able to go if we can't get off the road, we live on a hill with hills around us :(
  • hi purple.

sorry to hear about your friend. good they have you as a close friend so close.

i also live on a hill with hills everywhere and have to palk a fair walk away from my house to ensure i get outo ver snow times. horrible weather!!!

  • Ok, I'm getting slack again! A combination of DH and kids being at home and the snow doesn't help.

My friends wife appears to be on the mend, she was on morphine patches due to various factors and due to various different factors she ended up having an overdose  however the hosptial have sorted it out now, they need to assess her medication to ensure it doesn't happen again AND the hospital have said that they will get in touch with SS to get them reassessed to see if they can get more help at home once she is out. My poor friend was soo worried :(

On to all things money wise...

We seem to have lost the plot, which is not a good scene. If we are not careful, we will be in a bad state once DH gets paid next month.

Spreadsheet has been updated and online banking has been checked.

I really don't want to claw back from the savings what has just gone over.

I'm still itching when I drink alcohol :( so I'm not entirely convinced it's the weather now, so I think I will finish what I have and drink the gin I have hanging about...I tend to drink less gin and as its mixed with tonic it tends to last me a while (I will not be happy if I have an allergy to gin!)

Finally managed to dig my car out today, so I can get to my cleaning jobs this week :) I haven't been able to save any of it yet as it's been swallowed up in general spending. I will get to grips with it!!!

Still on the job hunt and have applied for a fair few, will keep looking and applying...someone some where will want me! I'd be happy with an interview at the moment though.

50p and 20p coins have been squirrelled away as has some shrapnel, even DH is handing me the odd coin...not got any £2 coins yet though since I banked the last lot...I blame karma lol

    That's all so far.
