Sorry but it not customers' fault they are underpaid - everyone has the option to gain extra qualifications and better their chances of improved pay. Why on earth should this fact be reflected in their attitude. If you don't like the pay, don't take the job.
I get so peed off when I hear people making excuses for "underpaid" staff. A good attitude should not be comparable with your pay!

Please do report this to Trading Standards as they can investigate the product to see if it is a manufacturing defect and remove them from sale if others show the same signs of problems.
Another poster asked this and I didn't see a response - does the product, or any of its packaging, carry a CE Mark? The CE Mark itself is no guarantee of quality but it is legal for all products to show the mark, and if there is no mark on the product or packaging this is another issue TS can look at.0 -
What does the battery compartment cover look like? Does it screw down, does it have a rubber seal?0
-
Yes it does have a CE mark. Sorry, I missed that post.
The battery cover just screws down. No rubber seal. This country is called Great Britain. It would be called Amazing Britain if it wasn't for people like you pulling the average down0 -
Now i know why i always get a crap response by CS in Asda. The way you have went on is rediculous. If you wanted to complain about shoddy far eastern toys, thats one for their headoffice, not to rant down the phone to someone who is nothing more than a grunt.
And the fault is with the batteries, not the toy.0 -

Do we know this? I'm no technical expert, but I believe the concern is that the toy should have been waterproof, and it is the fact it leaked water that caused the battery problems. In addition, the battery acid leaked out into the bath water, which should not happen if the product had been watertight, which it should have been designed to be for the sake of safety.0 -

I take offence to that post. I am probably what you would call "underpaid" I'm on minimum wage AND I am at university GAINING qualifications. At the moment, working in a shop is the one of the only jobs I can get that suit my hours."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

And OP, I agree with the majority, yes, you may have been upset, but there's no excuse for talking to someone down the phone like that. The best approach would be to explain the problem rationally and calmly, not go in all guns blazing, shouting and swearing at someone who probably had nothing to do with the toy at all, and would only be trained to do exactly what she had done in your case."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

She's doing her job what do you expect! With your attitude how on earth you can criticize someone else I don't know.0
