I found the website of Kalmora spa where I got my eyebrows done. I complained via their contact page and received this response:
'I am writing in response to your complaint at kalmora spa chester, we apologise for the way you felt you were treated , this is not typical of kalmora spas and we ensure you this is a one off incident , in compensation we would like to send you our apologies and a £20 gift voucher to use at kalmora spa as we value your custom and would like you to come back .
Please could you forward your address so I can send the gift voucher to you.'
Not a bad outcome I suppose, but I would feel funny going back there. Would feel happier if they just refunded the £10.
It's 2 weeks on now, and there are still faint marks where the damage was done.0 -
Try having your eyebrows threaded (if any salons near you do it). Normally you get an excellent shape and it's over within minutes. No hot wax involved"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye."...Miss piggy0

Never had my eyebrows waxed in a salon as I react badly to warm or hot wax, but I use Wax Away Eyeshow Shapers from Boots and wax them myself at home. Costs around £3.45 a packet and the packet last a couple of months. Its more like sticky plastic than wax but it works really well for me.16 x Sanyo HIT 240w panels, 3.84kWp, south facing, 30 degree slope in the SW, 4.4 Eltek HE-t inverter installed 27/03/120

Def agree with threading, costs about £3, my skin is super-sensitive & i can cope with it with no red marks or anything. But don't go near your period time as its abit more painful! HTH:)No one said it was gonna be easy!0

If it was done with the spatula and pot method, it could even be an infection. When an area is waxed, the top layer of the epidermis is taken off, and the pores where the hair follicles have been taken out are still open. If there's bacteria in the pot, this will have been applied straight onto the open follicles.
Personally, I'd never go near spatula and pot. The same wax that's been on someones underarm and bikini line could be going onto your eyebrows! And we all know that bikini and underarm are prone to bleeding. yeuch :eek:0 -
i got mine done at saks, they use disposable spatulas which are thrown away after one use and the wax has tea tree oil in it. the wax also felt warm rather than scorching hot. it costs £12 but i found it well worth itCiao £6.72

they are great... a friend of mine has some and let me 'have a go' on my eye brows!
they take an absolute age to go blunt and they also grip the hairs really well.
I don't know where would be best to buy them from pricewise, but I know boots do them... could you go through quidco maybe (and redeem your boots points of course!)
good luck!0 -
they're brill! they get every hair easily. i also like that they're bright pink so not easily lost
bought mine from Boots years ago0 -
There fantastic, I brought a gold pair, they were pricey, but as they are gold they will guarantee to sharpen them for free for life, they also have more precision than the normal tweezermans I also have!0
