Goodness it scabbed over?! Be sure to not go back to whoever did it next time!!!
Glad it's okay now!0 -
Some people are more sensitive to waxing than others. When my DD has it, her skin stays red much longer than mine.
Personally I love waxed eyebrows, I love the bald clean finish.
If you have it done again, you will probably be fine.0 -

I got my eyebrows shaped (waxed) in a beauty salon within Debenhams 2 days ago. I was expecting a bit of redness afterwards- the last time I had it done though, at a different salon, it was only for a few hours. However this time the area beneath each eyebrow has been pretty red and sore for the last couple of days, and has actually scabbed over as if the top layer of skin has been removed! I'm now worried in case it leaves a scar.
I'm going to go back there on Monday to see what they say about it, but in the meantime I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem getting their eyebrows waxed at a salon?0 -
I've only had my eyebrows done twice in my life.
First time the woman plucked them.
So the only "problem" I had the 2nd time was not knowing they were waxing .... really .... no idea... then they ripped it off!!!!
Bit of a SURPRISE!!!!
I'd just say - do you have any rich moisturiser until you get back to them? Especially with Vitamin E in. Or, if you have actual vitamin E capsules in your cupboards, you can crack those open and put it directly on.0 -
it does sound as if the top layer of skin has been ripped off, it wont scar as the damage isn't deep enough but is likely to be sore and unsightly for a good few days yet0

Same thing happened to me, there's a thread about it somewhere
Mine was only on one side, so I had a lop-sided red, weeping patch for a couple of days. At the time, the general consensus was that I'd been burned.
Interested to hear what your salon say.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Many thanks for all the reassuring posts! Yes, it was a young girl who did it. I will go and complain on Monday- it's not on really if they have the wax too hot. It must be that as it didn't happen the other time I had it done.0

Yes you're right about Debenhams- I just happened to be in there at the time and decided to get my eyebrows done on impulse! (Not very MSE, I know....)Cost £10- which I thought a bit expensive? And yes, she did put the wax on with a stick I think.
(Anyone know of a good salon in Chester??)0
