Hi Harry Harp,
Same thing has happened to me, how did your lawsuit go?0 -
Let's face it. Tweezing eyebrows hurts. If you get it right on one side, you'll get it wrong on the other and wear a permanently quizzical expression. Waxing hurts and can leave you bruised for days. And it's the best part of a tenner from the salons where I live. Then they tell you that you mustn't do anything at the top. So you are bruised, ten pound poorer and still have shadow creeping up towards your forehead.
There is a better way, which doesn't involve looking like the mutant offspring of Susan Boyle and Alistair Darling. Or Fozzy Bear and Sam the Eagle.
Threading. Sounds evil, but it actually more accurate, efficient and (after the initial session, which can be a surprise as it finds hair so small you probably didn't even know they were there). But don't go to a 'normal' salon, filled with permatanned highlighted blondes that offers it - you'll still hand over a hefty wad. (Sorry blonde ladies, I know you're lovely people, it's not a personal thing - it's the only way I can explain the difference in my words)
Go to a salon run by someone who comes from what, because I can't think of the right word - and I don't want to offend - I am going to call the Arab or South Asian world.
I go to a place owned by a lovely Iranian lady. I go in, sit down and one of her girls gets on with the task with cheerfully ruthless efficiency - not one hair is allowed to remain where it is not wanted. Guaranteed film star brows. Then the boss' face swims into view. Her eyes narrow, she grasps the appropriate tool - then painstakingly removes 1 - 8 individual hairs which she feels spoils the overall appearance.
I get perfect brows, the redness dissipates within an hour rather than 3 days, few people are allergic to cotton thread and she only charges £4.
Simples!I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
A couple of years ago I went a bit mad plucking my eyebrows until they were quite thin. However, I haven't had to pluck since then as the hair hasn't grown back and what's worse is I overplucked the edges so one eyebrow is only half an eyebrow!
I didn't worry at the time as I thought the hair would grow back. It hasn't! So I did a google about eyebrows and if they will grow back. Some sites I came across said that they do take time to grow back (I think I should have seen something by now lol!) and other sites I googled say that you can stimulate the hair follicles.
I came across this American site:

This seems really pricey too! Is there something in the UK to stimulate eyebrow hair growth? (Ideally I'm looking for a cream and not pills.) I looked on Boots and the only thing they do is Rogaine which is for the scalp and not to be used on eyebrows.
ETA: If anyone has found a reasonably priced product can you let me know if it actually works! Thanks.0 -
i wouldnt waste my money on that
mine have always grown back but my friend went mad once and that was that. i think if the follicles have been damaged no amout of creams or potions will work
you can have them tattoed on which looks good if done properly'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0 -
You can try massaging with some castor oil. Massage stimulates the blood flow and (hopefully!) will kickstart your follicles into working again.
Until they're grow in, you can pencil the bald patches or shade them in with some eyeshadow that matches.

My mum plucked almost all of hers off when she was young and they never grew back. She's in her 70s now. They've all gone now as she's just had chemo, but she was on a look good, feel better course and they show you how to pencil them in. What a difference it made to her.
How about going to a John Lewis or Debenhams make-up counter and ask to be shown how to pencil them in realistically?0 -
what do they do with eyebrows at beauty slaons? ive often seen eyebrow groom noted at around - £10 and am curious0
