Well done on clearing the small loan Cinny. Hope work is okay?
Yay for new tattoos and for using cleaning money to pay for them. I clean for DS's godparents and I use that money as "pocket money" so I can use it for treats for me or the kids as its "free" money in the sense that it doesn't affect my bank account.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Hope everything at work is OK?
What tattoo designs are you having done this time? I can't get one now.../:)

Things are okay, thanks
Nothing I can't handle, but I just feel like a bit of a duck at the moment. On the surface I'm calm and collected, always being there if people need a talk, trying my best to speak out for people when they're not there to stick up for themselves (and, in some cases, fighting the corner for someone who's too nervous to stand up for themselves) and I try my hardest to brighten the mood, bring in sweeties and try to be hilarious 92% of the time. But underneath the water I'm swimming like my life depends on it, knowing I'm putting myself in the firing line and it's getting to the point where I'm waking up with marks on my fingers (hello, old friend!) and I know I'm too stressed for this. I just can't stand people treating other people badly, starting to wonder (yet again) if £55 a week is worth this. Would be so nice to have my Thursday evenings and Saturday morning's back.. let alone the thought of just not having the stress.
Tattoo wise I'm just adding to my cuff, with the rocking horse fly and garden flowersI'm also getting Tom Thumb and Hunca Munca cutting the ham! (sounds a bit dodgy..) I really want my whole left arm to be illustrations, or line drawings. There's some amazing artwork by Simon Bethell that I think would translate beautifully, which I'd love. I've also worked on a design as a bit of a tribute to OH. With blue roses, an anchor and a sexy naked lady. It's the kind of thing where it's obvious to me and OH that it's for us, but to anyone else it just looks like another nonsensical tattoo. Oh, and then there's the mermaid foot tattoo I'm getting with my Sister (although, this is a bit up in the air atm!) so all this plus about 3 designs Mr Tattoo already has. Trying to spread them out as I'm overly aware of too much too soon, or it seeming like I'm going for coverage over quality.

Oh dear, it really doesn't sound like work is worth the stress it's causing right now! Whether you stick with it or not, I hope you're taking time out away from work to de-stress as much a possible.
Like the sound of what's happening next on your arm. I much prefer the delicate line drawing type tattoos.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Augh Cinny - that job does not sound worth the hassle!
Presuming this is J!!! and not Family Business? Could you not take on a bit of extra cleaning to make up some of the shortfall if you were to leave?

Oooh but in nine months' time you'll be able to get your baby's name and date of birth in 6" Sanskrit and roman numerals on your lower back! No?
Just had to google Simon Bethell ... beautiful in their way but I must say I prefer your mice! I want an anchor!! But I want it like on my wrist/hand/finger and not sure that'll mesh well with my teaching ambitions :undecidedWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Yep, it's the second job! I kind of want a reason to leave, more than the just go. If that makes sense? Like another job to go too, or something. Rather than straight up leave :undecided I mean, we'd manage fine on just my family wage but it's the second wage that's paying loans off in double time..
If you explain to the artist who does it that you want it to be easily concealed, they should be able to work with thatYou could get it on your wrist in a place where a watch would cover it. Forearm if you want something bigger as we all love a good cardigan! I'd be careful with hand tattoos though, naturally your skin is thicker there so your tattoo won't look as crisp, and overtime with movement you'll get some blowout with the ink. I don't mean to sound negative or put you off, I just know some studios flat out refuse hand tattoos unless it's knuckles/traditional places. Other than that there's white ink or just getting a tattoo without an outline, or just a thin border. My friend has her tattoos without an outline and they're so pretty, like a water colour!

Errr, yeah, maybe! (Hoping that you'll have forgotten this by February!!)
Can't see an issue with you getting a discreet little Anchor tattoo, if any of your students see it they'll just think you're incredibly cool!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

Ahh this may explain why my foot one is fairly blurred now hehe. I've thought about covering it with a watch but my tattoo I have now is on my left foot and I want something on the right side of my body so I feel balancedI might go with the white ink ... gah I don't know - I still can't decide on a place for it!
If work is stressing you out and you can survive easily on your other wage then you should just quit - your health and happiness are more important x
EDIT - Birdie - It's not the students who give you a job though is it?!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Well it's completely unethical to refuse someone a job because they have a small tattoo so don't worry about that too much!
If you get it on your wrist you could always just wear your watch on the 'wrong' wrist when you want to cover it up, or wear a bangle or something? All else fails, buy some camouflage make-up to cover it whenever you want/need to.

Ha Birdie you're such an enabler! Are you living vicariously though my skin now?!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
