I think it's always best to be careful, most parents are with their first. My Brother and Sister were very carefully handled, then I cannon balled into the world and was swung around by my right leg by the sounds of it.
Had a lot of time to think over the weekend and I've decided it's time to leave Job No2. It's making me into the person I'm not, and I've just had enough. I've always found my male boss extremely stressful to work for - he's very passive aggressive, egotistical and just plain difficult. But this past week has just made it so clear that he is not the kind of person I want to work for, it's been getting increasingly worse and it's constant power plays. Like treating me terribly while being super nice to everyone else, or vise versa. I'm just so incredibly done, and even the thought of paying our debts off quickly isn't making it bearable. I was almost sick before I went back to my shift on Thursday, and Friday evening I couldn't really eat or sleep I was so anxious. I've always struggled with my mental health, but I know where I need to draw the line and I'm at the end of my tether. With the help of someone at work that I trust (who's also gearing up for leaving) and Mr Google, I've put my resignation letter together and I'll be handing it in tomorrow. I have to work a months notice, I'm just hoping he doesn't make it difficult for me. Although if he does, I'm fully prepared to just walk.
I've done the maths, and while we can afford to live with wiggle room there won't be extra for debt repayments from my wage, so I'll be putting the breaks on our DFJ for now - until we get our heads around it.
Just focusing on Wednesday at the moment, I get a bit of needle therapy. I popped in on Saturday to drop my designs off and just talk to him, he's the wise hippy type and just being near him is oddly calming. Would give pretty much anything for it to be tomorrow evening already - I just hope my letter doesn't stir up any more drama. There's always something, huh?0 -
Will be thinking of you Cinny! Sounds like the best thing to do0

Good luck handing in your resignation, I think you're doing the right thing, no doubt about it.
Well done for noticing the changes in yourself before things got too bad and you actually got really sick. I'm sure that you'll feel a massive weight off your shoulders once you know you're on the way out! If he does make things difficult you could go to the doctor and get signed off with stress for the month and you'll be entitled to SSP, better than skipping out with no pay!

Thanks everyone, it's done now! I feel ten times better already, although my leaving date still needs to be sorted but I figure that will happen on Thursday.
Said my bit though - that I've always found working for him stressful and recently he's just been too much. Put a lot of emphasis on how I've really loved working for the Lady Boss, and said that I'm sorry and wouldn't leave if it wasn't for the stress. But I was shaking like a right wally!
Once I've finished work (as in, 30 minutes) I'm off to get a nice new plain notepad, and some new pens and pencils. Spend the afternoon drawing and relaxing, try to forget I have to be back here tomorrow. Heart's still beating out of my chest as the other boss needs to find out still.. office politics, ehy?0 -

Thanks for the welcome girls and I'll try to join in more.
Cinny well done on taking the steps to recognise what needs to be changed and following through with it. As someone who's had depression in the past I know what it's like to feel it start and to make the changes that need to be done.
I've got a Dolphin tattoo on my right shoulder and am looking to get another one done as soon as I can just can't decide where, I know what I want (the rose from Beauty and the Beast) but am struggling to decide on the right place for it.
Congratulations Birdie and I've heard of crazy husbands/partners not letting their pregnant girls do quite a number of things and even banned one of them from buying Crunchy Nut cornflakes lol.

Well done for handing in your notice and more so for telling them the reason why - I know I wouldn't have had the guts in your shoes! Hopefully the stressful bit is nearly over. You're very good with money and full of initiative so I have no doubt you'll be good
I knew you couldn't bleach your hair when pg but didn't realise you couldn't dye it at all! (I remember Irene in Home and Away went brunette when she was surrogate for Finn's baby - on reflection I think it may have been henna - why do I remember this so clearly?) I haven't had my natural hair colour since I was 13 and its way darker than the colour I am now - I'm going to have to wear a hat for 9 months when the time comes!

LOL don't worry Shrimpy, I think you're allowed to dye it after 3 months.
Ali, thankfully my OH hasn't banned anything yet (other than [strike]heavy[/strike] any lifting!), I won't tell him about the crunchy nut cornflakes in case he gets any ideas though!
