I hope your OH is happy with the new car, they're lovely!
I'm sure there's plenty of room for a car seat too!
I'm bad with the CC too, always forgetting to move the money over to pay it off!I don't even carry mine in my purse now and whenever we do use it, we put it on OH's card as he's very good at paying it off ASAP.
Well done on the productivity yesterday! :T Hope you have a nice afternoon doing all of your odd jobs. I'm useless ATM and pretty much just vegetate as soon as I get home.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
I only work until 1:30 though, you do a full day while making a tiny human. You're allowed to vegetate!
He is really happy with it, I remember the first weekend he had it. He kept saying "I can't believe I've got my dream car!" We've named it Dolph
I've been ebay-searching a few other things I have that I could sell. I found a bunch of Penhaligon samples the other day and they're actually selling for decent money, so I think I'll put them on when I get home. Was just going to chuck them as they're not "me" smells (I wear Britney Spears Fantasy FGS!) glad I didn't now. Well, if they sell :A
ETA: Also called not-so-proactive about not having my refund yet. Apparently they haven't received it, so I just need to find the postage receipt (I'm 98% confident I've binned it) for my refund which I can throw at my August challenge.0 -
It always surprises me what sells on ebay! If I could've been bothered I'd have made tens of pounds with the stuff I've just binned!
Love that the car is called Dolph! Hope you get him an appropriate car sticker to back it up!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
The car is a beaut ! And in sure it's a lovely drive/ride! Sounds very productive Cinny I'm impressed! I need to do some sorting at home tonight and a humungous washing load but can't be bothered! (Washing it is ok it's just the folding and putting away I don't like!)0

I'm now 100% confident I've binned the receipt - why is it always that *one* time?! I did, however, have a productive afternoon. Cleared and cleaned out all the kitchen cupboards, plus the oven AND the fridge (I keep looking at the fridge because my cleaning skills are just that darn good. It's so sparkly!) Got on top of the laundry and cleaned up the house so it's looking pretty taken care of at the moment.
Put those samples on ebay, and got the okay to put some gifts on (I thought it's only polite, plus saves the awkwardness of people asking after things) so that's this evening sorted.
Had to go and get Ryder food, his little bag of food ran out so I borrowed £10 from my savings to go grab a bigger bag. It should be enough to see us through the month, so there's a positive. Will pay the £10 with bells on when I get paid. Also patched up the harness he chewed through this morning, and it survived the morning's walk so all is good!
My Mum is popping over this afternoon for dinner, so I won't be doing a great deal MSE style today. Using my feet instead of my car, planned tea around some near-their-best things in our cupboard and will list some things on ebay later.
Oh! Also decided I'm going to apply for seasonal work, just holding out for local stores to advertise and I'll apply. Thinking my sleeve might work against me, but I can wear a cardigan for the interview if I get that far.0 -
Good luck with the seasonal job search! Sounds like a good plan, much nicer to pick up a job for a short while and enjoy it then have a break until the next time seasonal work is offered.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Exactly Birdie! It's all just a matter of if I can get anything, I really don't mind working long hours as long as I know the house is tidy and Ryder is looked after, if I can get one in my old town I'll be able to drop Ryder at my Parents so it won't be a problem
But I did get paid this morning! My 4th weekly wage so I made the most of the extra and upped my budget a little bit. Updated my signature to match! Also, my parents have offered to pay the rest of my insurance as my Christmas present, how generous is that?! I asked for a night to sleep on it, just to talk it over with OH as it is a fair bit of money, but I'll speak to my Mum later and make sure she wasn't hyped up on the can of pop I gave her and actually meant it before I alter my signature. If my parents did mean it, I have another goal I'll switch for paying the insurance off. Always thinking!
Put another 2 things on ebay last night, and work up this morning to 10 watchers on one (plus a question, oo!) and 3 on the other.
Attacking my last two "rooms" on my to organise hit list this afternoon - under the stairs and the old coal house. You know that room/cupboard/space that just seems to soak up all the junk in a house? Well, these are ours. I know I'll feel better when they're done, and hopefully I'll find some things to ebay in the process! But I'm not looking forward to it. Partly because of spiders, not going to lie.
Just need to pop to the petrol station and the shop after work, have a £10 fuel budget and £20 food budget this week so  I know I'll be fine, I have £20 spare but that's going in my "Save" envelope! Working the envelope system for my budgeting now, made up a bunch of cute envelopes last night while we watched cartoons so I'm all set!
Tried watching Sharknado last night too, we had to turn it off because we were in hysterics and spent more time pausing and rewinding to just take in how awful it was. I just felt bad for the sharks0 -
Hi Cinny
So glad that things are back on track for you and as for mental health that's definitely something that needs looking after and you've said that you could see it getting worse but sounds like you're coming out of it.
My DH has been ebaying like mad and made a great profit however when he put up some of my things they sold for peanuts lol.
We've just had a run of putting things onto a credit card as well however the ebaying and careful planning is allowing for it to be paid off quick smart.
Great idea about seasonal work too, hopefully less stress for you and some perks depending on where you can find the work. As for buying the car needs must and it's important that your OH gets to work and he's on the MSE bandwagon in wanting to pay it off in 2 years rather than just sit it out.
Have to say that you're sounding chirpier about things now.

Thank you for the lovely comments, Alioops!
It's weird what does and doesn't fetch money on ebay, my Dad puts some right old tat on there but makes a pretty penny when he can be bothered. Just looked at your signature and congrats on the weight loss!! (only with glasses of water, not pints!)
Had a funny weekend, I feel like we didn't do anything but at the same time we did a lot? Had my parents over for tea on Saturday, but decided to treat them to a meal out with some of our savings in a way of saying thank you for paying for my insurance this year. Although I did make pudding at home, and sent them packing with the left overs so OH didn't extend his "treat" day to snaffle the rest yesterday.
So now I have £60.08 in my savings account, I moved the remainder of what we needed for the CC payment into the credit account so I can draw a line under that and focus on the next challenge..!
We're wanting to double up our loan payments so we can knuckle down and be debt free in two years (paying the car off 3 years early :T) this means paying off an extra £356.80 a month. £89.20 a week, or £12.75 a day. I can comfortably save £50 a week towards the overpayments from my wages, which makes it £5.60 extra a day that I need to find to make this happen. Considering how many people take on and win with the £10 a day challenge month in month out, I know it's do able. I just need to actually apply myself. I'm going to try doing some extra hours at work, carry on putting things on ebay (also helps with minimising our lifestyle) then do things like STP.
But as I know it's important to have a safety net, so this month I just want to focus on an over payment for the sofa loan while working up my savings to £200. After this month I want to try and save £50 a month into an emergency fund alongside the loan over payments.
OH and I worked over a meal plan last night (I actually got him on board ) so we can use up what's in the freezer, and I've let go of the idea of a new winter coat. Will fix up old faithful instead, to be fair it's an aviator style jacket which I love so I'm not at all put out.
Popping to the shops after work, just to get things for our meal plan in one go so I don't need to go there again this week. Also need some parcel things, have over £70 worth of bids now and the items finish up tomorrow evening. Wednesday will be a fun day if everyone pays up0 -
Had a busy day! Got up at 5am so I could get to work for 7am and worked through to my normal finish time. Only just sat down, watching Benefits Britain 1949 from last night while tea cooks. Making shredded honey chilli chicken sandwiches, with salad and rice *pats gut* I made the bread from scratch too, because I'm fantastic (haven't eaten it yet, probably tastes like glue)
Also cut the front and back garden. That means I've been in the garden every day since Friday and that, quite honestly, scares me. Am I garden proud now?! Made things for after tea (cookie dough truffles!) Sorted the laundry and cleaned up. Took Ryder on a good walk too, so he's happily snoozing.
Ebay items are up tonight, at £90 for todays sales so I'm more than happy even if things don't get any more bids. Have another £43 worth of items that end in a few days tooLots of packing to do tomorrow!
