Thank you for the lovely comments, Alioops!
It's weird what does and doesn't fetch money on ebay, my Dad puts some right old tat on there but makes a pretty penny when he can be bothered. Just looked at your signature and congrats on the weight loss!! (only with glasses of water, not pints!)
Thanks CinnyI'm pretty please with myself too especially as it's been done not exercising just by changing what I eat although I wish I could say it was all me but I'm attending fat club so not very MSE but is worked into my budget and obviously getting the results that I need. Oh and if you keep posting delicious sounding recipes I might start putting the weight back on :rotfl:.
Your money plans sound like you've got your spark back and if you're both on board that's an even bigger bonus.
Ooo Disney and Thomas Sabo. DH bought me a chamilia bracelet with the Belle rose on it for our anniversary and has added Lucky, Nemo, Thumper, Snow White and Cinderella to it over the course of a week. I've been very spoilt as I had an operation and he's a soppy get so he had to give me my presents early, all bought off ebay or discounted so semi MSE :rotfl:.
I am constantly trying to keep on top of the paperwork mountain and completely agree that DH would have no clue whatsoever should anything happen to me. Why is it always us women that have to keep on track of everything??
As for birthdays Birdie, my DH was 30 last year and wanted a Monkey Island cake - luckily some friends make cakes for a living and are just as geeky so they were able to make it for him. The lightsaber cupcake idea looks great and pretty easy to do. Could you maybe take a couple of small presents with you on holiday and then surprise him with the rest? Saves you having to worry about getting them in the suitcase and you'd be bringing them back with you anyway.
Hope you're having a good week.

Ooooh I really wish I hadn't clicked on those links Ali, love the Belle Rose and Snow White charms especially!
When the Chamilia Disney charms first came out I drooled over them but OH put his foot down and said that one charm bracelet is enough- so mean!
I have a Tiffany bracelet with a mix of Tiffany and Thomas Sabo charms on (since Tiffany are so expensive I have to rely on the odd one from my Mum when she goes to America, otherwise it's Sabo all the way!). I've currently got my eye on a little green chameleon because it looks like Pascal!
Think I've got OH's pressies sorted now, a t-shirt and flip flops to open on holiday, some bits for when we get back and I've got him tickets to see Jimmy Carr in October so he's actually going to be quite spoilt!
Was looking at Star Wars parties last night and decided that I'm totally going to do a 'Hoth' dog bar!Not sure if I'm going to do the lightsabre cupcakes or get a fancy Star Wars cake made, will have to speak to my friend the cake maker. She normally sticks to pretty simple wedding cakes so this may be beyond her capabilities! A Monkey Island cake sounds so cool Ali, would love to see piccies!

Sorry to hear you've been having such a rough time Cinny - I seem to have fallen quite behind on your thread
It sounds like you have a great plan in place though. I need to tackle the bits of CC debt that have crept on in the wedding run up when we get back so will be rereading for inspiration!
Birdie your Star Wars party sound amazing! If I lived nearer I would totally gatecrash

What a mean OHJust had a look at the charm and it looks so much like Pascal that it would be a crime not to get it :rotfl:. Never come to me stop you from buying anything, I'm a b*gger for spending other peoples money
.
Might be a silly question but what's a 'Hoth' Dog bar? Star Wars cakes are easy from Mr A's, I reckon go with the lightsaber idea, cupcakes mean no cutting up of cakes and less mess as no need for plates or cutlery to eat them.
As requested a link to the Monkey Island cake http://www.flickr.com/photos/97369611@N03/ also included a couple of pictures of our wedding cake as we had Belle and Beast as the cake topper.
We're Disney nuts, can't wait to actually have kids to be able to explain all the disney blurays and toys. Our niece actually asked where our kids were as we had loads of toys on display :rotfl:.
Hope you had a great wedding and honeymoon Shrimpy and don't worry about the CC creep up you know what needs to be done and I'm sure you'll get there.

A Hoth Dog bar is just a play on words.
A regular hot dog bar (so I'll be doing hot dogs, buns and lots of different toppings) with a funny sign that only the geeks will get!
That cake is amazing! Your OH is very lucky!
We're Disney nuts too, can't wait for the baby to arrive so we have an excuse (well, who needs an excuse really?!) to watch Disney all the time. OH is determined that baby's first photo at home will be with him holding him/her like Simba! :rotfl: I really hope we have a girl so I can finally buy all the Disney Princess stuff I want without looking weird!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
That cake is amazing!! Love your wedding cake and topper too, I think Disney themed things are the best. Hands down, they're classics!
Even if you have a boy you can buy the princess things if he wants them, I love this little story! Is it bad that the Simba comment just seems like a normal thing to do coming from you and your OH?! (I mean that in the most loving way!)
More than being organised, I like having the file box because it's eliminated cleared lots of space! Although OH got some paper out yesterday morning so cancel some things, and when I went into the room where it is I noticed he'd just left the paper on top of the file. Whhhhyyyyyyyy.
Was off work sick yesterday, I don't know why I was dying but OH was perfectly fine so I can only suspect that he's tried to killed me and failed ENORMOUSLY. Silver lining was I finally got some little projects done with altering my hoard of men's shirts. Completely reshaped 2 into cute peplum tops and have my eye on some of OH's that he never wears
Interest paid on all my accounts this morning so that's 18p into the loan overpayment account. I want to say every penny counts but it's not really anything to yell about! Still not heard a peep from the person who won the bracelet, I sent her a message yesterday but I'm wondering how long you should wait to offer the item to someone else if you don't hear a thing? It'll have been a week tomorrow. :undecided
Budget is going well, we have £20 left in the food envelope too which is nice! I was worried when we started the budget that I was being a little too tight but I think it's just made us more conscious of what we're spending. It's kind of funny that I expected to feel kind of sad and so restricted but I just feel a lot more secure now I have everything organised. It probably helps that I've fully settled into my new routine now too and feel super relaxed!
Feeling a little guilty though as I haven't seen some people in what feels like months (and in some cases it actually has been!) so I've been proactive and made plans with people, and I'm hoping I can drop in on Mr Tattoo man as he's the person I haven't seen for the longest and I've heard he's been asking after me (I mean, he knows where I work so he could come and see me if he really wanted to) Just hope I don't get suckered into booking in for my next tattoo as I don't really have the money for that right now.

Hope you're feeling better today Cinny, there's nothing worse than only you being sick as it definitely makes you suspicious. I had OH try to kill me with washing up liquid as he'd tainted to potato hash with it, and last weekend I ended up with food poisoning and he didn't although payback was making sure he didn't get any sleep mwuahahaha.
Men don't have the ability to file, I have come to learn this through both home and work life but I'm a bit of a nut when it comes to filing and find it therapeutic.
I thought it was a play on words Birdie but then second guessed myself, sounds like a great idea.
Glad you all like the cake, it tasted amazing too.
Disney will always be a winner although we're mad on Muppets too. We've actually bought some Muppets bibs and I'm not even pregnant yet :rotfl:. A friend did say that if you see something buy it as you'll probably regret it if you don't.
With regards to not seeing your friends, definitely make the time to see them. I regularly have girly nights, we take turns in hosting and being taxi driver so that everyone has the opportunity to have a drink if they want to.
Eb@y is not my forte but OH has done heaps over the past couple of months and I think that you have to open up a dispute case before you offer it to the next highest bidder.DEBTS ARE BEING DEALT WITH AS BEST WE CAN:heart: Married my prince on 27/08/2011Baby Girl born 21/10/14:D:D:D:D

That story is so cute Cinny! I'd like to think that OH would be a Dad like that but I'm not too sure, he's very much a boy's boy although when he was little he went through a phase of carrying a little Bisto bag around with him as his handbag so surely he must understand the funny phases kids go through?!
Hope you're feeling better today, being sick is the worst! Sounds like you to keep yourself busy with little jobs even whilst dying! Have you got picks of the upcycled shirts?!
How ridiculously annoying about the ebay buyer! No idea what you do in those circumstances but I'd be so mad, whenever I win an auction I pay straight away and expect other people to do the same!
Ali, The Muppets is all Disney too so there's no need to feel any conflict there!I agree to a degree about buying little bits as and when you see them (if they're going to be difficult to find again) but only if you have somewhere you can hide them away! When we were in Disney World last year there were loads of things we really wanted to buy for a future baby but at the time we were struggling to conceive and couldn't really see the light- buying a bag load of baby stuff would have tipped us over the edge I fear! Although now of course I wish we'd bought it all!
Luckily Ma and Pa are off to Orlando in October so I can send them with a shopping list!

I love that cake Ali! It looks amazing!
Hope you're feeling better today Cinny, OH always gets the bugs in our house and I never catch anything, it has occurred to me now that he may be harbouring suspicions! Also would love to see the shirts, your upcycling skills leave me in awe!
We bought a Johnny Cash babygro in Nashville as it was too cute but I was a bit concerned it was a weird thing to do and worried it might somehow be a jinxBarclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0 -

Oh my goodness, bless him! I think he'll surprise you, while OH isn't keen on my view of not gender imposing our kids I know when it comes to the crunch he'll support his child over other peoples views. If that makes sense?!
This is my Doctor Who oneHave another pinned to go this afternoon it's getting addictive! It's just so nice to have my fandom shirts fit.
Nothing to update on money wise today. I've raised a case with ebay for the unpaying buyer, didn't like that at all but why bid when you're not going to pay for it? More than anything I'm annoyed my savings aren't at £200 when they should be
Making Frank's roast chicken for tea tonight, so it's obviously an exciting day in hour householdwith cheesy mash and veggies. So tempted to make yorkshires too but that might be too much..
Not much planned for this afternoon! I have some laundry to do, and just a bit of cleaning. Hope I can have an easy afternoon really as I'm still so tired from Sunday night and then being sick. I don't feel like I've fully caught up!
Went to see Mr Tattooman yesterday, I've missed him! You know those people in your life that you just click with? He's definitely one of those people, and I 100% need to make more of an effort to go in and see him. His little face lit up when he saw me too, it's normally a more darkened look that people get0
