Morning world! Another wage in the bank, so it's been all divvied up :)

Rent and bills have been accounted for, and the CSL payment account is at £433.50. £381.50 to go, we're over half way there  On one hand I'm thinking I can turn the heat down a little, as the £815 is dependent on two payments coming from OH. But on the other, the quicker I get that saved up the sooner I can open an ISA and start on our long term housey savings.

OH is wanting to hold off on shopping. In all fairness we have enough in, what I've been buying uses a little of our store cupboard but it really is my safety blanket so I don't like using it :o Is that weird?! I pointed out we don't have bacon or cheese (obviously, two main food groups) and he said "well, we'll have to cook without bacon or cheese" Not cool! So we're going to cook from what we have until Tuesday, that's when I'm over in my old town and can switch to shopping at Aldi :)

So after all that I have £55 to my name. No plans for this weekend, I've been so tired all week that I don't want to do anything! Only thing I have planned is bring my Sister to the office to use the printer. Thrilling ;) Just want a nice relaxing weekend of home, dog walking and nice food. I think that's reasonable!

    Happy Monday!

Lots of money flying out of the bank today, but it is the start of the month :) Ryder's insurance, TV licence and payment for my phone have gone out. £60.27 all in, have one more bill that comes out on the 5th and that's me done for my personal bills this month.

Had a lovely weekend, and actually feel like I rested up! We went to the cinema again yesterday (pre-booked and saved £1.20 ;)) to see the new Percy Jackson movie. We're kind of testing the waters to see how interested we are in weekly cinema trips, as weird as that sounds. I'd love to get the unlimited card again but OH isn't too sold on the idea. Only down side is that OH bought mixed popcorn. It wasn't mixed, it was freakin' layered. By the time I'd forced myself to eat through the salted and finally got to the sweet, I'd made myself feel sick and couldn't cope with the stress of possibly eating another piece of salted popcorn :rotfl: Wuss, me?!

Round all the bank accounts down this morning, not a massive amount but it's 84p into the loan OP account. No big plans to add money to it this week, kind of sold everything I'm willing to sell that's worth anything, so now it's a case of knuckling down and doing what I can to our budget. Mainly the food part ;)

After work today it's back in the garden time! Need to cut the grass and pull up some weeds. Also want to make a strawberry and lime cake for after tea tonight. It's jacket spuds with salad and some magical chicken dippers I discovered in the fridge for tea

No major challenges for September. I just want to get our loan over payment to £700, so even if I jump ship and can't keep motivated longer than 4 weeks, I'll only have to save £30 a week from October to have the CSL loan paid off in October ;) I like to prepare for my ultimate failures!

Hit with bank charges after my bank messed up payment dates last month. It isn't fair, but whatever it costs to call me to argue with them will probably outweigh the fee. So I'm £10 out of pocket :( Made 100% sure the money for the card payment was in my bank waaay before the payment date!

It leaves me with £19 in my bank, and I'm really hoping not to touch this. Have £20 in my purse so I'm setting myself a mini challenge of just using this for this weeks shopping. I think we can do it.

I don't suppose anyone saw Jamie's new TV show last night? I'm not sure what to think of it, really. OH saw more of it than I did, but even he was grumbling that it wasn't "that cheap" Regardless we're giving the pizzas a whirl :) They looked pretty tasty and we have everything in for them, so it's worth a try!

It's my Brothers 28th Birthday today, so his present came out our present stash and card from our pile of 10p sale cards. Feel so cheap saying that but he was happy with them, so that's what matters :) Can't go wrong with toiletries! Plus he's going to get a puppy tonight, 14 week old male border collie so it isn't like I could have beat that as a present.

Been snooping on the baby bargain thread, I asked my Cousin if they had a wish list for Baby G but he said they kind of have everything. So I'm going to stick to essentials and see if there's anything I can pick up for points in Boots today :A

It's a toss up tonight between a junky (but quick!) chilli dog casserole or apple pork chops with cheesy mash and heaps of veggies. We tend to have our junky tea on a Tuesday, with wrestling, and I am out all afternoon so it might be the quickest option.. Just need to get a meal plan together before I go as I only need really need to buy for 3 meals. I did make a list yesterday, but it dawned on me that I'm on my own tomorrow, we're out on Friday and have everything in for 2 meals already.

It's kind of dead at work today, so I'm soaking it all up as we'll be manic from Thursday! Eek!

I saw Jamie, I agree it didn't seem much different to his 15 min meals type thing, but it was a good way to make people aware that you can still eat healthily with plenty of veggies in between the meat and not resort to carb overload to cook on a budget.

  • Are you able to phone the bank from work saving you the cost of the call? I've been hit with charges as the CC people decided to up my dd without consulting me unfortunately I only get one refund for the life of my accounts and I've already had one.

There you go with the nice sounding food again, makes me grateful that I'm useless at cooking so know that even though I like the sound of a recipe I'd never be able to make it :rotfl:

I've not watched Jamie's show but did see the new cookbook the other day but as above no point getting a cookbook when you can't cook ;). Might see if I can find it on catch up though as I enjoy watching cooking shows.

How did you go with resolving your eb@y non-payer?

We've got the cinema cards and are really glad that we do as it's so expensive otherwise. Think the most movie's we've managed to watch in a day is 4 so far, the staff are brilliant at helping us to work out the times as well so we get all the tickets at once have a break between them to go and get a meal and then we just go back through. As we've had them so long now we actually get 25% off the snack bar too.

Spent £20 on the nose yesterday  £2.68 of that was dog food, so sub £20 to feed us for a week :) got a couple treats in there too! SUCK ON THAT, JAMIE. I did spend £3.49 on my card though, but that was on hair dye (my normal box is £5.97 and the discount shop had it for £1.49) and two £1 boxes of red lindt chocolates for my Parents anniversary.

Round the accounts down this morning, 48p into the loan over payment pot ;) Hoping we'll be pass the £500 mark this time next week, but we'll see. It's the 4th weekly wage, but I'm basically down £20 with the bank charges and the credit card was £9 more than I worked out at the start of the month - me thinks OH spent the difference between getting paid and the cut off point. Always something!

Couldn't find anything in Boots that was "nice", but I had a little ebay search and found a woman who does lovely felt hanging letters starting at £1.75. So nearer the time, if they haven't wavered on the name they've picked, I'll be able to get Baby G's welcome to the world present for £10.50 :) Have the card already!

Offered to take my ex-Bosses daughter to a football match in a couple weeks, OH is already taking his Sister (a certain member of a certain boyband is playing..) so for £7 and a good deed I thought it'd be a nice evening out. I'll just need to clean my car out the day before ;)

Not heard a thing from ebay, and it's made me not want to sell it :o I decided I'd let myself keep two things - my kindle and the blythe, maybe I'll just up it to three :A

When we had them yeeears ago, I think we saw 4 movies in one day too! It just seems so appealing now as there are so many movies we want to see, but I know it won't be like that every month :undecided I think that's why OH is a little off the idea.

Slept horribly last night. Woke up at 2:15, 3:30 and when I woke up again at 5:15 I thought to hell with it and took Ryder on a long walk. It's my own fault because I've been so thirsty since Monday - like today when I got to work I drank a pint of water in one. Feels like I'm coming down with a cold too (sniffles!) so we'll see how I feel in a couple days. Such a hard life!

    I have to ask who...?

I came down with a cold a few days ago but luckily it hasn't been too bad. I can't remember the last time I had one either so figure it was overdue. My immune system is generally pretty hardcore! Hope yours goes away.

I just had a mini splurge in Primarni but picked up some skinny jeans, a vest top and a jumper for £22 so shouldn't need much more to be winter-ready. I just need to find a decent coat, was almost tempted in a charity shop yesterday but not quite sold. Did pick up a really beautiful Warehouse dress for £8 though, 100% silk! I may have squealed. I have a wedding in November so that will be perfect. I have also managed to pay 15% of the CC debt off since we got back as well so it hasn't all been Spendy McSpenderson behaviour!

Weird about your ebay buyer but its clearly a sign you should keep it :)

Have a sad looking £6 in my bank account this morning! But I'll get paid tonight/tomorrow morning so everything will be hunky dory again! Have the budget set up, and we're ready to go for September :)

Puppy sitting little Max this afternoon, so that will be fun although he's a scrappy little thing for 14 weeks. Very feisty and holds his own with Ryder, they're going to have their hands full ;)

Gave myself the afternoon off yesterday. Ryder is really clingy recently, as in he doesn't like to be out of my reach for too long. Even followed me and sat outside the bathroom yesterday! So had him sat at my feet while I watch some Disney movies, dozed off for half an hour so I must have needed it from being up so early. Woke up again today at 5:15am but managed to just lay with my eyes closed until 6am

Louis from One Direction *rolls eyes*

Sounds like a bargain with the dress! :money: I found an old coat yesterday, it's a skirted mac which is cut exactly like this. So I'm going to give it go through the washing machine and have it for my "smart" coat :) Good going on the Primark bits too, I'm keeping an eye on some ebay things. Think I'll be able to get everything I need for just under £10, I kind of just wear my clothes all year anyways. Just throw tights and a cardigan on in Winter!

OH gets paid today, so once he's done his money shuffle I can tweak the budget a little to get the figures 100% for this month :)

Hunters chicken with Jamie's pea mash and roast veggies for tea tonight. Stomach's grumbling already!

Mmmm can I come round for tea? ;) I'm cleaning after work tonight so will probably end up with a bowl of cereal of something when I get home.

Got to take the Primark jumper back today as I found a big dirty mark on it last night - bleurgh!

That coat is gorgeous, love the collar.

Also, my friend is actually developing a Harry Styles obsession. I have warned her I may have to defriend her if this behaviour continues! I'm not sure I know which one Louis is :o

    Morning World!

Paid this morning, under paid of course ;) But it's okay, I can make up the difference with fuel. Put £50 into savings and moved some money around. Got my ebay bill of £35.11  So I've moved that money into my paypal account, and move the bill in my head to mentally paid!

Applied for the Halifax account today for the £100 reward. Got locked out of changing my OTP because I have no idea what mythical number they have on my account, so need to pop to the bank this afternoon. Works out well really, I can let Ryder play with my Parents dogs so he'll be sleepy when we go out for tea tonight :) Another bonus of the account is that I'll get £5 a month for no reason :j Will be keeping my 123 account as I can a good rate ISA and it keeps the 123 credit card free. So I'll keep my long term savings separate, but move my emergency fund to an easy access with Halifax. Does this rambling even make sense?!

OH is calling BG up today to see about taking us off of pre-pay. It should save us about £30 a month, only thing I'd struggle with is not knowing what's what during Winter :o upside is the house will be warmer with me not fussing over what's on the meter :rotfl:

You're welcome any time! :D Hope you managed to get something nicer than cereal for tea too.

Nasty about the Primark jumper  It's the only shop where you need to worry about the fact what you've bought has been thrown on the floor and kicked about!

My ex-Boss's daughter is obsessed with Harry, I had to break the news to her that she'll never be old enough for him. She was born 25 years too late for that ship!
