I can't wait until October! Not only for le meet, but there's the new series of American Horror Story and Thor. Plus I'm going to a Make a Wish fundraiser with my Mum for her birthday which will be fun
Then there's all the other good stuff like dark nights, toffee apples, old jumpers and life not being as hot as Satan's butt cheeks.
Heating wound up being on this morningSick of cold toes! I feel like such a softy, and ashamed!
The car I'm smitten with is a Dodge Caliber, but I was looking at the sizes vs our drive and it wont fitThere's no way I'm leaving it on the road so it was back to the drawing board. I was so excited! Oh well, we have plenty of time before we're ready to buy
Been paid, only sent the rent back out and I'm leaving it be! Once I have access to my new account I'll be able to sort everything out and have it all settledHoping that will be here by tomorrow, but I won't hold my breath!
Any interesting plans for the weekend? OH is off to the football again tomorrow with my Dad and Brother, so I have the house to myself. Planning on making cherry lime "soda" (American recipe) and rocky road bars. Then Sunday I'm hoping we can go look at some cars, just to get a feel for boot spaces and the kind of thing I like. There's no point me trying to save for something unless I have the idea in my head, need something I can picture myself working towards
How's everything coming together for his party?0 -
Oooh yay, new American Horror Story! Asylum was great, fingers crossed this new series is as good!
Hope Zachary Quinto's got a big part again, he's so spookily good; he gives me the creeps, but in a good way!
Shame the car won't fit on your drive.I'm sure you'll find a great car to save up for though, just make sure you'll stick to just looking this time!
Party plans are going well, I just have a few foody bits to buy tonight and my food pun labels to print (which can't be done at work as I can't download the Star Wars font to my work PC!), then I have to make rice crispie treats (aka Wookiee cookies!) and a big bowl of chilli so tomorrow it's just a case of heating food up and putting it all out just before everyone arrives.
Sunday will be pretty quiet after all that, although I have told OH I fancy Pizza Express so hoping to queeze that in for lunch if he's not feeling too rough!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Don't feel ashamed of putting the heating on, I put mine on at least 2 weeks ago, in my defence I grew up in Oz lol.
No awesome plans for the weekend as hubby is working so it will just be the usual catch up tv and trying to wash and dry clothes (another reason the heating went on).
I know what you mean about having to idea to work towards. I'm not happy unless I have a plan and my current plans are get rid of debts (hopefully April),TTC () and save up to surprise my sister for her 40th in 2015 by secretly flying to Oz. So no biggies there at all lol.
Birdie - birthday plans sound brill and nothing wrong with being cheesy.
Hope you have a great weekend.DEBTS ARE BEING DEALT WITH AS BEST WE CAN:heart: Married my prince on 27/08/2011Baby Girl born 21/10/14:D:D:D:D

Shame about the car not fitting but I know what you mean about needing to 'see' your target in order to save up for it ! Is the sofa all paid off mow then. Or will be soon? (Sorry I lose track) I'm sure you can save for the car once you know how much you need and you put your mind to it! I miss having a car sometimes but don't miss paying for a car!
Birdie the birthday sounds amazing I hope it goes down well!!
Alioops the oz surprise sounds amazing! Hope you can pull it off!0 -

Thanks Tink, I'm hoping I can too. She surprised me by flying over for my wedding and so it's the best payback I can think of but will cost a fortune so having 2 years to save is good.
Mum and Dad already know as we'd be staying with them and they'd be picking us up from the airport so they need to know when to get ready for us, plus they kept it secret about my sister so I know I can trust them.
I'm so sad that I've already planned what I want to do which is to land the day before her birthday, buy her a massive bunch of flowers to hide my face and knock on her door on her birthday or, if it's a cheaper flight, land on her birthday and drive directly to whichever house happens to have the celebratory meal at either way is going to work :rotfl:
Can't believe that today is officially the last day of summer, I'm still waiting for proper summer to show up let alone welcome in autumn.
Hope you're all having a good weekend.DEBTS ARE BEING DEALT WITH AS BEST WE CAN:heart: Married my prince on 27/08/2011Baby Girl born 21/10/14:D:D:D:D

You know me too well!! :A (Possibly) Thankfully things came up so we didn't end up going. And by "something" I mean the first series of Supernatural. Kind of stormed through it Saturday evening/Sunday so now I'm itching having to wait until Friday to order the second season. I NEED TO KNOW THINGS OMG.
Anyways. I've been thinking on the car search over the weekend and I think the best route will be to save about £2,000 then go looking. I'm pretty confident we'll be able to get something decent with that. Until then I need to cut down how much I travel with Ryder, I really don't feel he's safe in my car anymore. I swear he got bigger over the weekend!
The sofa isn't paid off yet, still waiting on my banking log in so I can settle everything and *fingers crossed* send OH the money to pay it off :T I'm scared to use my banks for money atm, which I suppose is kind of handy. I have £23.50 in my purse, although I'm trying to not spend more than £3.50 this week
I love that idea, Ali! Sounds like you have a lot on your plate, but I know that feeling. So much I want to save for, but not enough wage to go around
How did your OH's birthday go, Birdie? Hope everyone had a nice weekend0 -

 How can you have only just watched Supernatural, it's amazeballs although we've got the 7th season sat waiting to be watched as we're finding it a bit hard going tbh.Anyways. This sounds like a great plan and I have no doubt that you'll be able to do it. Did you decide if you were going to ease off on your savings or continue to save the same amount? Would it make it easier saving the same now that you've got a goal to work towards. The sofa isn't paid off yet, still waiting on my banking log in so I can settle everything and *fingers crossed* send OH the money to pay it off :T I'm scared to use my banks for money atm, which I suppose is kind of handy. Well done of trying not to spend more than £3.50. Are you waiting on your bank switch to finalised before you use the bank or is it something else?I love that idea, Ali! Sounds like you have a lot on your plate, but I know that feeling. So much I want to save for, but not enough wage to go around
I know exactly what you mean about not enough wage for what we want to do. We'd love to buy a house but can't get the deposit together, work want me to drop down to 4 days a week for health reasons which will affect my wage and hubby only earns minimum and everything else mentioned it's enough to send me doolally :rotfl:How did your OH's birthday go, Birdie? I second hearing about the party and pics please. Also is it team pink or team blue?DEBTS ARE BEING DEALT WITH AS BEST WE CAN:heart: Married my prince on 27/08/2011Baby Girl born 21/10/14:D:D:D:D

Because it hasn't been the right time until nowI'll admit, we didn't cope well with the end of House. We knew it was coming, but we ignored the signs and pretended like it wasn't happening. And then it was over. So we rebounded through some "I don't even care" TV shows like Revolution, those were some dark days and we toyed with some shows I don't even want to admit to watching. We turned a corner by rewatching our Marvel and DC favorites, but you can't get by on movies alone, you know? But when we started getting semi-serious with shows like Beauty and the Geek, and Under the Dome, I knew it was time to finally move on from House. And straight into the arms of the Winchesters.
I don't think anyone really understands the pain and heartache that TV junkies go through
I'm not sure about the savings to be honest, on one hand we were on a tight budget so it was pretty tough going and a little give-room would be fun. On the other, it wasn't too bad. Trying to be a bit more relaxed in October so we'll see what happens. I've spoken to my friend this morning who buys and sells cars, and he said as soon as I have my pennies saved and a good idea of what I want then he'll help me look for one. He's a good'un!
It's a mix, waiting to see where the direct debits come from and wanting my online log in so I can shuffle money about. Everything's a little bit of a jumble at the moment, so I want it all in one place before I send anything out!
On our list at the moment is a "new" car for me, paying OH's car off and saving for a house deposit. At least the sofa is one big tick off the list. Will you be okay money wise if you drop down to 4 days? Obviously, your health is more important but that was one thing in the back of my mind when I quit my second job - money, ugh!0 -
I know what you mean about TV shows, we don't have a licence so only watch movies or series. Under the Dome is getting to be really interesting and we're also watching Once Upon a Time which is really good too. We start something and either get really into and watch everything out straight away or there's too much to choose from so end up starting then not finishing shows, House and Bones are just two that we've done that too but it shall be rectified .
Would love to know what you won't admit to, I've become a Glee convert whilst I've been recovering from my operation much to OH's disgust :rotfl:.
Brill that you know someone that deals in cars, means you will get the full story and not ripped off by price or a lemon either.
That's a decent list for you and and your OH but I know that you're good at getting things sorted.
Dropping down to 4 days is manageable but going to be hard to enjoy life particularly when we have a child yeah it saves on one day's childcare but still have to pay for a few other days. I'm going to suggest working from home on Mondays as I already do Wednesday's, this way I still get the work done and it doesn't put as much pressure on my colleagues. I told them I couldn't do it until after April anyway due to money being too tight :rotfl:DEBTS ARE BEING DEALT WITH AS BEST WE CAN:heart: Married my prince on 27/08/2011Baby Girl born 21/10/14:D:D:D:D

I've only just started watching Supernatural too.
There's a lot of stuff out there that I missed when it first started and now there's just so much catching up to do! I'm so behind on Breaking Bad it's shameful!
Party went well, nice and geeky so OH was happy and our friends suitably confused! I'd attach pics but they're massive and don't seem to want to be resized which is annoying me so I've given up.
Oh and we're Team Blue!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0
