I thought the same thing about your FB friend's blog comment Tete - I remembered you saying once your RL friends didn't know about it and wondered if it was an in-the-know- comment or an off the cuff one! (Errr I now feel slightly like I was stalking you now but I do love your spelling/grammar updates!)
At least one of my bosses are always in and I think they properly check your internet (as opposed to companies who can but don't really bother unless they have cause to) plus my computer is in the corner with the screen facing the whole room - it has basically ruined my life!
An ex started following me on Twitter which made me feel a bit weird - we don't have any mutual followers or followees so I think he must have looked me up  but I didn't follow him back and he unfollowed me after a couple of weeks - clearly I wasn't very entertaining reading! I like Cinny's plan too! That is really creepy about your picture Star, I wouldn't like that one bit

As an unrelated aside - I find it really hard to communicate IRL without smilies!Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0

Me too!
This one is my favourite and there aren't really any equivalent emojis on text or facebook - I always end up doing a :undecided - but it's just not the same!

I love Tete's spelling and grammar posts too, I read them out to my OH who laughs his head off!
He's a funny one in that he's borderline dyslexic and struggles with his own spelling and grammar (but tries so hard bless him) but can spot errors on other people's work in seconds. He's as good as I am at picking out mistakes in books (not that we make a game out of it or anything...
).
So strange about the ex following you on Twitter Shrimpy! At least he quickly lost interest!
I think I may go with Cinny's plan... if I change my name to my nickname you'll know why! Will leave it a week or so and if he's still following me I'll block him then mention how I was getting spammed so closed my account!
I struggle to communicate without MSE smilies too! On e-mails at work it changes : ( and : ) (no spaces obv!) toand
but it doesn't do any others... so often I need
,
and
! At least we've got a lot of smilies on our Instant Messenger but the blushing and winky faces are quite suggestive IMO so I feel weird using them! I could be overthinking things here!
As for the online life vs real life, I tend to find that I *do* keeps things pretty separate. My friends who come to my house regularly see that I'm a crafty so-and-so because there's usually something new on a wall/shelf that they'll notice and admire but I don't really see the point in sharing things like that on FB as I don't like the idea of all these old school friends who don't know me so well judging me.
How silly, right! I certainly haven't mentioned my little (sadly neglected!) blog to anyone as they just won't get it. Most of my closest friends are verging on the technophobe and simply have no idea about blogging and forums etc so I don't feel like they need to know about it.
I've got 2 of my oldest friends on Twitter and a while back I linked to my blog; the next time I saw them they commented on my blog and how they liked the things I'd been making and I was really flustered! At least they were nice about it!
Oh and it was *super* fun trying to explain how I 'know' you all to my Mum when I mentioned our meet in York and how more of us are meeting again in July! 'So you talk to these people online but don't see them in real life? O-kaaaaaaay'. She clearly thinks I need help! :rotfl:Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Me too. I find it hard to think of you all as your real names IYKWIM.
With the picture it was a company who sells Angelina ballerina toys. How they found my picture I don't know. Fair play they deleted the tweet as soon as I [STRIKE]asked[/STRIKE] told them to but what got me was that they did it without my permission. the picture in question was a professional one taken for publicity for DD's ballet class so it's all around here on flyers anyway. But they didn't even ask :mad:Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
No I wouldn't like it either Star - you'd think a professional company dealing in kids' stuff would have a bit more of an idea of the sensitivity around photos of kids on the internet.
It's quite handy that I did the sewing course with Dinah, cos whenever I meet her/you all IRL I say "Oh the girls I was on the sewing course with..." which isn't an out and out lieIt's strange because I met ex-OH on a dating site and when my aunty asked how we met in the middle of a big family gathering only about 6 weeks into our relationship I just took the bull by the horns and said "ONLINE DATING" and everyone was all, "Oh that's so great, I know someone who met someone... etc etc" - but when it comes to online FRIENDships there isn't the same sort of acceptance yet.

I think with online friendships a lot of people still have the attitude of "so you can find any friends in RL then" whereas online dating is becoming a lot more socially accepted.
I tell people I kind of know you all from work as I "met" you all when I used to come on the forums to stop myself falling asleep on nights :rotfl:Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Hi Everyone!
Sorry I haven't posted, had a very dramatic few days at work since Friday and it's stressful. Blegh.
Anyhow, paid £200 off the smallest loan and cleared itOH doubled up his payments in May so I'll get the last 2 loan figures off him later this week and update the total. But we're sub-3k!
I really am starting to think I'm a total over sharer! I will tell anyone anything, I don't really have any part of my online presence cut off from another... starting to think maybe I should?!
As I mentioned on Dinah's thread, I'm booked in for my next 2 tattoos. This is testing the theory that I can use my cleaning pennies to fund my problem - so we'll see how it goes! It's nice to book in and not feel a huge chunk of money fall away from my bank account.0
