Yep!
The annoying thing is that I was going to go to the little tattoo place around the corner from me this week and just get it done... how's that for timing?!

Actually, if you trust your tattooist, know the place is up to code and see your own special needle come out of it's special packet - I was told it's okay to get tattoos when you're pregnant. But you've got your whole life to permanently mark your body!
Your right side? What about your collarbone? Or something along your bra line on your side. Thigh tattoos are pretty awesome. You've got the whole right side of your body, there has to be a place!!0 -
I know that it's technically safe for preggos to get tattoos but I don't really want to have my first one when I don't know how I'll react, seems a bit of an unnecessary risk (I've become a little risk-averse this week annoyingly!). OH would also kill me if I had it done now too as he's turned into a right Nervous Nellie! It's something to look forward to doing next year.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Birdie hubby's are the worst on the first child. Mine even asked me not to dye my hair when I have dyed it continuously since I was a teenager. I think it was the first time he's actually seen my natural hair colour
Cinny I didn't realise it was safe to have a tattoo while pregnant. You learn something new every day!Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
What's the deal with dyeing hair when pregnant? Is it OK then if you've been doing it years with no reaction? A lot of these rules are quite over-zealous aren't they, eg shellfish won't kill your baby but there's a higher risk of getting food poisoning from it than from battered cod and it's the food poisoning that would be bad for the baby, yes?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

It is one of those over reaction things Tete. Basically the dye could go through your scalp and anything that goes into your blood goes to the baby too. Plus you are more likely to get a reaction even if you have never had one before, as your skin and body changes while pregnant. I dyed my hair on DS with no problem but hubby asked me not on DD (first baby plus I'd lost one before her) and fair play he never tells me what to do/what not to do so I did do as he asked.
They do say if you go to a hairdresser and have it done properly then they check for reactions etc and its safer. Pfffft being pregnant is expensive enough without paying a hairdresser to do something my step dad has done for years for free!!!Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Ah that's true I guess - hormones are all over aren't they? Love that your step-dad does your hair haha!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Yeah, so many rules seem a little OTT IMO. Like you can't have cured meats because there *may* be some bacteria on it... but if it's not made me sick in the 25+ years I've been eating salami why would it now?! It's still OK to eat it hot on pizza etc so I'm cool with that, was the first thing I Googled!
Sadly pate is a big no-no.
The thing with hair dye is that they don't know what affect the chemicals have on your baby, if any, yet so it's recommended to avoid having it done in the first 12 weeks whilsts everything's developing. Your hair may also take to it differently when pregnant (I think) so something that may have always worked fine may not work when knocked up! Strange!

I had to laugh at the rule that I'm not allowed to eat shark now... because that was a staple in my diet before!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0
