Ooooh nice buys Cinny! I did think you'd bought a new kitchen worktop before I clicked the link though! Oops! I love good carboot buys but there's not really any here and I don't have a car! I need to scout some out that I can get to as I need new work clothes hut don't want to spend a lot on them! (Although when I do buy super nice things I do feel sooo much better and smarter.. Dilemma!)

I have that same dilemma Tink. :o I never feel smart enough compared to the other ladies in the office but then I guess it's my own fault as I like to wear bright colours instead of black (which = instant smartness) then instead of heels I wear comfy flats and I'm always cold so have to throw a cardigan on top of whatever I put on! :o It would also help if I bothered to wear make-up too... but the extra 5 minutes in bed always wins! :p

Anyhoo, very cute buys Cinny! I never seem to get a good bargain at car boots, maybe we need to widen our horizons and make sure we get there at the crack of dawn! :)

    Happy New Tat Tuesday! :)

All my work clothes, well the majority, are from Asda. They're really reasonably priced, but if you can wait for the sales it's even better. This one is my favorite at the moment! People are always surprised when I tell them my clothes are from Asda, so I suppose that's kind of a compliment? In a "oh, I didn't know you were that tight way" ;) I wear mainly black, but that's just because I like black clothes. I feel like the flip side to Birdie, because I have a few bright bits for work and I feel over dressed whenever I wear them :o

Today is indeed the day! 25 minutes in fact. I'm all excited, but stupidly sad because I don't want to leave Ryder on his own for a few hours :p Getting booked in for my next one when I'm there, I still have £50 from OH to spend on my next one and I know if I spend it on something else I'll feel guilty for the rest of my life.

Boss Man 2 pointed out it's payday this week, and I (very calmly) said "Oh, it is?" while thinking "damn bloody straight it's payday on Friday."

Did everyone have a nice bank holiday? Least the sunshine held out, horribly rainy today :(

Off to gather up all my drawings, and scout out a tattoo magazine that has my buddy in it. Was really generous of that client to give me all his back issues but, holy cow, whenever I think of an article or picture I like it takes me half my life to find the right magazine.

Will update money-ly on Friday :)

LOL, I'm the same with my paydays! The pay slips come out the day before and everyone will go, 'Oh, when do we get paid?' and I'm like '16 hours and counting!!!' :o

I really like that Asda dress, might have to sneakily order it tonight! :)

I had a fun weekend, went to Lightwater Valley for the first time in about 15 years on Sunday which was fun (and somewhat MSE as we used a 30% off voucher)! So shameful that we never go, it's literally an 11 minute drive from door-to-door! :p

With the massive stack of magazines issue... when I was doing de-junk Jan I went through all of my crafty magazines, which were in 3 of those cardboard holder thingies and cut out just the pages with anything I wanted for future reference and binned the rest, ended up with one small pile that took up half a holder instead. :) Might be worth doing that! You could even go one further and get a cheap 'scrapbook' pad from a £1 Shop and just stick the pictures/articles in (and go organising crazy and sort by theme/body part?). Pinterest old-style! :)

I love that asda dress, and the car boot top :) I need to go shopping for work clothes too. The dress code is smart, but I feel too stuffy in a shirt and proper trousers. Plus, people dress definitely more smart-casual. Got a lush blouse in primark though and when I got to the till it was £5 instead of £10 so I bought all three colours :o They're perfect for work! Definitely gonna check out asda though.

The only good thing about working as a temp is the fact I get paid weekly! So excited about payday! I'd be rubbish waiting until the end of the month, way too impatient.

I'm gonna need help with this era dress code! Completely clueless! :p

Getting paid weekly is the best, I get paid weekly from my main job - but we get a payslip every 4 weeks. My Uncle changed the payslips about two years ago because it's cheaper but never got around to giving us the walk of death of waiting 4 weeks for the first payday (if that makes sense!)

For anyone ready who isn't on my tweeter or facetube, here's the finished tattoo. I'm back on the 12th to finish the cuff off, and paid for it in advance so I don't have £50 floating in my purse. Will do a full blog post about it later, so I'll post a link then if anyone wants to see?

I did speak to the tattoo man about tattoo parlours up your way on, Birdie, but he said he couldn't think of any to recommend. If you want to, I could take the design you want in with me when I'm next in and see what my guy could do? It would mean venturing to Bircotes though.. and compared to your "posh yorkshire" location it might be a shock to the system :p

I'm going to get a right reputation with everyone's OHs, influencing dress purchases ;) That is a great dress mind, really flattering and swishy!! I'm in agreement with you Zig, I hate wearing shirt and trousers. It's stuffy and unflattering on me :( I look like a leetle potato.

OH is away tonight, so I'm a planning carb and Honey Boo Boo fest. Due to my extreme level of adventure and class. Don't feel like this week is a proper week, any week that starts with a Monday off is just a write off!

I really like that style of dress, got a couple from Dorothy Perkins and people always say how nice they are. :) Makes me feel a little better about my podgy belly that's appeared! :o

I also hate wearing shirt and trousers, don't even own any, just feel so uncomfortable in them!

My car has auto locking so I guess I'd be safe enough to drive to Bircotes! :p I'll send you the pic of what I fancy nearer the 12th then try to psych myself up to go through with it! :o

Zig, which era do you think you'd like to dress up as for the meet? Or what kind of dress would you wear, then we can work out which era that is IYKWIM?! :) I'm still undecided. :o

I used to have a few work 'shirts' but gradually phased them out of my wardrobe as they always needed ironing and life is waaay too short for that. Now I tend to buy see-through chiffony !!!!! bow type blouses and wear with a vest underneath - smart but low-maintenance!

I need to get cracking with my dress don't I? Eeep! Can't wait to see what everyone wears!

*OK, 'kitty' bow blouses then! Sheesh!

I'm excited too! Really no idea what to do though. :o There's a vintage shop in Harrogate I need to check out but keep forgetting to go and I really could do with a day to go round the charity shops in an attempt to find a hidden gem but never seem to get the chance as I can't shake off OH on Saturdays now that rugby's finished and I've got no time off work mid-week! :p

Oh and I absolutely agree that life is too short for ironing! Had to iron a dress last week and was so very unimpressed, think it's the first item of my own clothing that I've ironed in about 3 years! :o
