Apparently I'm "maid of honour" aka "whipping post". So I have no choice :( she's going on about planning her Hen now, she won't let me do it on my own because her inlaws will be attending and she's worried I'll do something they'll frown upon. But I really want to go to a strip club with dollar bills and make it rain on dem booties! (see, I'm all gangsta!)

Star, look on ebay :) Loads going cheaply, if you go on BIN there's someone selling them for £16.99 on clearance. It was really lovely of him, although he was pressured into it by my Great Aunts ;)

I was also thinking, if I go for the killer £99 dress - surely it will last longer than the cheaper ones? :A (although, I have a £6 dress from Asda that's still killing it 3 summers later..)

I've just been looking at fabric and mentally spent more than the dress. Oops :o may have to decide on one fabric and leave it at that. Thanks for the eBay tip. I might have a look on there anyway.

I'd be tempted to go with the strip club too if she wants to pretend she's proper!!! (And I'm the furthest away from gangsta you can get!)

I'm with Tete, loving the killer dress! It's a beaut! :) Oh and guess who has 2 thumbs and will be spending the evening looking at pretty dresses?! This gal! (huh... this works better IRL! :p)

Not very good of your sister to ask you and your OH to pretend to be something you're not though. What does it matter if you're not married? And his family can't hold it against her if *you* choose not to join in saying grace. It's not like you'll be disrespectful while they're doing it, you just don't join in. No biggy. Hey, if they don't like you, who cares, you'll probably never see them again! :p

Ooh what pretty dresses birdie? Can we see?

Cinny like birdie says she can't make you say grace. We say grace here but are always mindful if we have guests who we know are not Christian. At other people's houses we don't say it unless they do as its a bit rude IMO. I just add a thank you for all meals in my bedtime prayers ;)

Do I need a reason?! Just want to see if there's anything nice enough on the sites Cinny linked to tempt me into parting with my money. :)

Goodness me, in my experience of hen dos it's always the mothers who are the worst - producing w!lly straws for everyone in posh restaurants and so on. Don't know how I'd cope with a real staid family like that!
