Lol at your lesbian comment Cinny! And how rude of you to find a dress with my name in, surely I have to buy it now?! (With the millions of pennies I don't have!
)
Totally off topic but how are you finding Life of Pi Tete?Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0 -
Shrimpy, you just have to buy your namesake dress!
Did a search for dresses with my name and just came up with some very expensive sacks and a lot of questionable body con dresses (you could just see me squeezed into one of them, right?!)!
Found the dress I want for the meet in July... but there's no way I can buy it!Boo! Will just have to fancy up one of the dresses I already have. Going to have to buy/make a petticoat though... but I hate the feeling of net! Will tulle work?!

 to those dresses birdie. I dread to think what a search for my name would turn up. Love that 1940's dress though!
Tulle would work but you may need more of it as its not as stiff. I wonder if you could starch it? Probably!
Off to google namesake dresses :rotfl: cos I'm THAT sad!
ETA my search turned up a lot of wedding dresses :cool:Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Eeek, I really like a lot of the Lucy dresses that come up in a search! Wish I hadn't done that now! One, two, three... even this wedding dress is nice (and cheap!). Not so keen on this one though!
Birdie I LOVE that Vivien dress - a nice change from the identikit polka dot ones they normally do. I'm still thinking about making one, something along the lines of this from an old sheet I have like this!
Shrimpy I'm not very far through Life of Pi but enjoying it so far - have you read it?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Oh dear, what have I started?!?!!
I will admit, over the past 2 days I've won 2 dresses on eBay.. ahem. Probably won't be buying any dresses on payday
Worked out I should get £290 next Friday. That's £200 off one loan and £90 off another which'll shorten one loan by a month. Which is better than a dress (I'm such a liar)
You're going all 60s then, Tete?I don't know what era to go for. I like the idea of us all turning up like Land Girls!
I'll probably just stick to what I know, either 40s or 50s. I've been playing with victory rolls etc and surprisingly, I can make my hair look hair decent with it!
Having a no flucks friday tomorrowjust me and the other girl in the office so we're bringing in sweets, fizzy drinks, carbs and general rubbish. We're also rebelling and wearing none office clothes. Shock horror
Be a nice start to the long weekend!

No Flucks Friday sounds like a great plan!
I'm not too sure which era to go as either. I'll probably end up being boring and wearing the standard 50s style dress as that's what I've already got in my wardrobe but it makes me a little sad.Going to be scouring ebay for dresses like that amazing Vivien one.
I suppose I could go 70s, there was a really cool plaid maxi dress on ebay last night that caught my eye.
Ooof then I have to figure out what to do with my hair and make-up no matter which era I choose... no matter what I do I just look like me but with slightly darker eye make-up and even messier hair than normal!

Yes I hadn't even thought about hair and make up either but luckily my hair is fairly 60s anyway. just need to let my fringe grow a bit longer and get in my eyes, and then I guess just a tonne of black eye makeup?? Eep!
Ooh did I tell you I got a Pyrex dish like one of the overpriced sets we saw in the 'Vintage Emporium' in York? £3 from the British Heart FoundationWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Ha, excellent Tete! :T Maybe we ought to scour the charity shops for treasures and have a vintage stall of our own at the fair?!
Think I'm going to have to play with my hair and see what I can make it do then dress to match!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Well, today I bought what I thought was a silly little cup you get free with your Easter eggs for £1 at the carboot and it turns out to be worth £10. Never mind a stall, get me on Flog It
I meant to say on my last post, no point in searching my name in dresses. I'll just get a whole load of Middleton on my Google!
Hope everyones had a nice BH weekend so far? We went to Doncaster-on-Sea (Skegness) yesterday, and a local carboot this morning. We bumped into my Grandad on the way in so we partnered up. Got some new pyrex dishes, lots of veggies and OH got some "juices" for his electronic cigarette. I, on the other hand, got a very pretty work top for £3 and some equally cute heels for £4
Will do a proper update later in the week, hope everyones having fun!0
