Got some great news today, my Grandparents have told me they'll pay for me to go to Laura's wedding!! :j:j:j We have to pay for OH's ticket, but we were looking at purely going to Las Vegas - have a day before they come up and a day after the wedding to ourselves - looking at around £650 (plus spending money) to go :) Just want to figure out an awesome way to tell Laura! Eep!

We'll have to find a cheap weekend somehow. And Shrimpy has no excuse not to come because of reasons ;)

Oooh actually, this one's got my name all over it, you think it would class as suitably 'vintage' looking for the fair?! :D

Hope everything gets better at your job Cinny! its horrible when you dont feel comfortable at your job! I like the idea of giving it a year/however long you need to pay off your debts etc and then reassessing the situation?

The holidays/weddings sound amazing too! I've been to Barbie land but i think the china one is different to the usa one.. I didnt think it was that good as it was basically just a huge shop! Nice to see all of the barbies from over the years and the different countries but the cafe was nothing special and everything seemed very overpriced i.e. the design your own barbie.. I probably would still go to the US one though!!

How is the new sofa!? And how did it go telling your sister youll be able to go to her wedding?!? I bet she was super excited! When do you have to save up for your OH's ticket by? How much will you need to save up do you think?

That's definitely what I'm doing :) I get paid next Friday and I'm so excited to see a big chunk just vanish. Holding some pennies back as I'm coveting a few Hell Bunny and Stop Staring dresses - will probably just buy Hell Bunny as they're a bit more day to day! But £200 will be paid off, no two ways about it.

Also, excitedly, worked out that if I save my cleaning money I'll be able to add to my sleeve every 3 weeks. Having a bit of back and forth with my family at the moment, as I'm getting this done, and they aren't keen. Apparently, as a "straight" girl it's strange to have another woman tattooed onto me, and people might god forbid, think I'm a lesbian  That's like saying when I died my hair pink people might confuse me for a watermelon. I'm not arguing the point with them, they don't have to like my tattoos as I'm not getting them done for anyone but myself. But it is a bit hurtful, as I've supported all of my family and friends with any body modifications they've wanted and fully defended their choices to people who try and put them down for it, so it's like - okay, maybe this personal respect thing isn't a two way street.

We're not 100% sure on the Vegas trip yet. My Grandad has offered to send both me and my Brother there, but my Brother won't be going as he can't afford to pay for his OH to go and doesn't want to go without her (understandable) so he's going to ask my Grandparents if they'll pay for OH to go instead. In which case we'll take about £500 with us, which we'll either save up for by taking a break from debt overpayments for 2 months. If my Grandad says no, we'll just get creative! OH's commission has been cut though, so it might be a case of me going on my own. One thing for certain is that this is my Bridesmaid's dress. I think Birdie will approve!

As for my Sister, my excitement was quickly replaced with regret! I forget how crazy she gets over things. I told her we'd be going, but we'd like to have at least two days to ourselves as that'll be our holiday. At first she was okay with it, and then she said "so you'll want time to yourselves..? because Grandad is paying for you to come to my wedding, not to have a holiday." It's annoying because she treats my Grandad terribly, he isn't exactly a saint and has a sense of humour that isn't everyones taste, but he's doing this for my benefit more than hers as he knows I want to be there. But there's no joy in telling her that. I just hope the whole week isn't filled by her being a psycho. To put it bluntly!

But anyways, things are looking good money wise. Should have £80 spare after bills when I get paid on Friday, but I don't think we have any bank holiday plans get. Gives us a bit a push-room if we decide we want to go too the cinema or something. Will probably just relax and take Ryder on some good walks :) Anyone have any plans?

I do indeed approve of the dress, goes with the 'Lucky' fascinator quite nicely! :)

Need linkies to the other dresses you're coveting though! You know you can't just throw something out there like that with no links to back it up! :p

LOL at your family's fears that people may think you're a lesbian if you've got a lady tattooed on you! I'd much rather have a pin-up girl than a man on my arm! :p If that's what you want, then just go for it and sod them, once it's all done they'll appreciate that you've got what you want and it means something to you. :)

Is it worth being a little creative with your sister about what exactly your Grandad is paying for? I.e. say, 'Yes, he's paying for me to come to Vegas and stay the nights before and after your wedding but we wanted to make it our once in a lifetime holiday so we're paying for 2 days before that also.' Or whatever! :p When we went away for our wedding we were more than happy for people to spend as much or as little time with us as they liked as we were fully aware that it was everyone's big holiday for that year and didn't want them to regret coming! :o

It may work out expensive/difficult but if she is leaning towards the Bridezilla and demanding you spend all your time with her in the days leading up to the wedding, why not look into having a couple of days elsewhere before heading to Vegas? :)

No bank holiday plans here yet, hoping for a bit of a [strike]cheap[/strike] quiet one though, it's just nice to not be at work! :)

Too right! I'm cleaning once I finish work on Friday (roped the other office girl into it and we're splitting the money 50/50 ;)) so I get 3 full days off! :j

I was trawling through my back issues of Total Tattoo, as there was an article about women getting women tattooed on them so I could pass it around my family. It's just the first time they've been so interested in my tattoo plans, I'm not used to it :rotfl:

Dresses, dresses! It's either a case of, buy 3 cute dresses or buy one absolutely killer dress :blushing: I'd love to get some fabric and patterns from ebay and try my hand at making my own dresses but I'm likely to sew it to my leg or something :(

I think I'll just stay firm with her, I've already told her that we won't be staying in the same hotel as them as it'll add £250 to the bill and we can't stretch that far. She knows I'm stubborn and basically the only person who won't put up with her business, she should know that if she over steps the Bridezilla line I'll just take off somewhere else and have a full on 5 day holiday :p

I do worry that she's going to try and make me act a certain way around her OH's family, though. She's already asked me to pretend that OH and I are married, and when we go out to eat they "say grace" and she's asked us to join in. But it's not happening.

Sorry to be an enabler but I like the killer dress :D

As for your sis - surely she'll be too busy and wouldn't want you under her feet for two days either side of her wedding?!

Birdie you beat me to it asking for pics of the dresses. Love love love the hell bunny ones. I'm looking for inspiration for a dress for a party DH and I have been invited to and those are perfect. Might have to have a look for suitable fabric as I can't justify spending that on myself :(

Yay for Vegas. And so lovely of your grandad to offer to pay for you too
