So happy for you both about Grace. She is absolutely gorgeous , can't believe she will be 1 soon!
Sorry to hear about your parents money troubles Dinah.0 -
It's not really income though, if he's not getting anything? But regardless, he should tell this guy that 3 months without wages in insane, and it's unfair for him to expect him to just go with out. If I ran a company, even with cash flow problems, I'd make sure the people I worked with got something each week. It's better than naught. Hope he's out of this situation soon. Mainly so he can get his money and give him the two fingered salute on his way out!
CMD - It took me months to get through the first book! Pick it up tonight when the soaps are on, you'll be chapters in before you know itI got way too emotionally invested in those books, I almost broke my kindle one too many times throwing it down in disgust, or so I could take a victory dance! Should probably get a paperback version of the next ones
Lol Cinny. I am so emotionally invested in the series it's not even funny. My favourites are Aria and Tyrion. Love themTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

I'm going to have to read these books! I need a beachy holiday to do it though so I can spend hours at a time getting into the story!
I am also woefully behind on the series, as in, need to watch the entire 2nd season!
LOL at the weird Zachary love Cinny!I have the last episode to watch tonight as I ran out of time last night and I'm on tenterhooks to find out how it all ends!

Hehe I'm a Game of Thrones addict as well
And I also love Arya and Tyrion, CMD. Two fab characters! I've not read the last book yet - OH got it first. I'm going to try and put it off until the final book is released. What if it's another 5 years until it's written  The TV series is filmed in Northern Ireland, which is cool. Although it's so CGI-ed up it's hard to recognise. Apart from the bits set on the Iron Islands, which are the North Antrim coast :j
Sorry to hear about your Dad's work problems Dinah. That is so harsh, and a huge weight on your Mum too. Can you get your Dad addicted to MSE to curb those daily spends?Your Dad's really into bikes, isn't he? My Dad's friend had a great ebay business buying and refurbing racing bikes and also getting cheap ones and breaking them down for parts. Would he think of a side business like that?
The closet planning is going well (closet sounds so much more glamorous than cupboard!!). Debating about whether to go cheap or expensive on paper. There's some nice Amy Butler paper half price at £15 per roll (so £30 for 2 rolls) or some leftovers of okay stuff on ebay for around £7. The thing is, OH hates all flowery patterny coloured paper, so the inside of the closet is pretty much the only time I'm going to be able to buy something lush. Decisions, decisions. There's a 20% off code too which ends today so no pressure!!!:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Just been reading this post on my favourite blog - thought it might spur people on with the February challenge - it certainly has me!
Lara... how often are you planning on redecorating the closet of dreams? It's going to be something you'll be living with for a long time - go with what you love (but let's see the options!)
Fab idea on the bike refurb business, although there may need to be some outlay to begin with. It's a difficult situation but that is WAY too long to not be paid. Can he go to the small claims court over it? I think your mum needs to speak to him though about his small-but-often spends - he possibly just doesn't realise how it'll be adding up (and adding to her stress)?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Fantastic news about Grace Dinah and NIM! I had a little tear-up at my desk too
Sorry to hear about your folks situation though. I hope your dad finds something else soon, if the business has such serious cash flow problems then it can't last much longer, plus its illegal to trade insolvently which it sounds to me like they are doing if they aren't paying their staff. Fingers crossed for him. Is this other guy a friend of his or just someone he works for?
I will no doubt be coming to you all soon for TV recommendations for OH, we are working through Breaking Bad at the moment which he has becoming obsessed with, but we're fast running out of episodes so I will need something new to distract/console him with!Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0 -
My dad views the computer as a magic box, I'm still trying to get him to understand how gmail works from any computer. The idea of him browsing a site for fun is hilarious if you knew him.
Going to see a mum and her little boy we met in the nicu today, looking forward to seeing them again.
Really pleased that our nicu seem to have funding to open up more cots, they're currently doing building work to convert the mums ward to an extra intensive care/special care combined ward, so that should be 4 extra cots once they've changed the current nursery into the new smaller mums ward. It was looking like they might be shut down completely, so hopefully this means they're out of the woods for the moment.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

He's a friend of dad's unfortunately. He's paying his other member of staff a monthly wage, it's just dad who works on commission he's not paying. Dad hasn't quit as the guy has given him a petrol card so at the moment he pays for all dads fuel, so dads not out of pocket, just not in pocket either!
I need to start making on the deb challenge, tomorrow we have no hospital appointments, no visits anywhere, so might get a chance.

They're even better in the book! I love Petyr, Jaime and Samwell. I think every woman wants to be a little bit kick-!!! like Arya! Heck, I loves them all :happyhear
Shrimpy - OH and I have just got into House, we picked it up on Sky Atlantic on the 6th series and watch it pretty much every night
That's great about the hospitalHope you have a nice time with the Mum and her son!

I'd add Jon to the list of characters I like, along with Arya and Tyrion. Lady Catelyn is clearly where Arya gets her not so demure and wishy washy nature from so she's not bad either. I have to admit to liking Daenerys too, initially she just hid behind the men in her life, but I like how she's developed now they've all gone and died on her.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
