There's not really anything to say or do is the hard part, its a difficult situation but I don't really think there is blame to be laid here.

Had 2 counselling sessions, so far I've gotten away with just talking about what is bothering me, but she's made it clear I can't do that forever and next time we need to start coming up with solutions.

Mum called this morning, as she does most mornings, she sounds incredibly miserable. S

Poor Momma-D! Your Dad needs to go speak to the guy he's working for and tell him either he pays up, or he's not working for him again until he does. Not getting paid for 3+ months is stupid! Must be hard for your Dad to go from being a provider to having no income, but if it's putting extra stress on your Mum she needs to speak up and tell him to quit buying things. Could you do anything to lessen the stress? Go around with tea one night, make sure she doesn't lift a finger on her next day off?

I did that trick with counselling too! I think it's the default setting, but honestly, once you get to solving the problems you will feel so much better and be kicking yourself for wasted sessions. It's scary, but you'll be fine :)

I'm on episode 6 of Asylum Cinny. Had really freaky dreams on Sunday night after watching it all evening, Zachary Quinto was after my skin! Why is he so good at playing the bad guy?!

I don't know! All I know is I've never been so attracted to a murderer, I was just sat there telling OH "I wouldn't mind if he wanted my skin" "I'd stop being a lesbian if he kidnapped me"

  • Love love love Game Of Thrones!!! OH got me the first 3 books for Xmas but have yet to start.I never seem to find the time and yet I never seem to get anything else done either. I have a heap of things in the house that could be sold but I am so wrecked after cleaning up after 2 toddlers when they go to bed that I usually just watch the soaps!

Sorry to hear about your Mum and Dad Dinah. I think it is unreasonable that he hasn't been paid since Oct. What is the hold up?

The business has cash flow issues. Which is unfortunate, but they're going to have bigger issues if dad walks away as he's one of only two sales people they now have.

  • Woohoo! Brilliant news about Grace! She certainly doesn't LOOK like a baby with anything too untoward going on :) The bit with the doc asking to dance at her wedding made me a bit teary haha! I'm not surprised that you cried Dinah, it's like a huge amount of pressure you've been containing has been released, you're bound to get a bit emotional.

The other sales guy being the owner who, imo, is a 2 faced self serving user of people. He is also recovering from a breakdown and had his other sales people walk out due to his being as per my above description.

Cinny I like your idea but at the moment its really the only income stream FIL has. Hopefully things will change soon, FIL wants out but until he has another revenue stream flowing he cant.
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

  • I presume your Dad is looking for other jobs Dinah. Judging by what NIM has said it doesn't sound like he will get paid?

It's not really income though, if he's not getting anything? But regardless, he should tell this guy that 3 months without wages in insane, and it's unfair for him to expect him to just go with out. If I ran a company, even with cash flow problems, I'd make sure the people I worked with got something each week. It's better than naught. Hope he's out of this situation soon. Mainly so he can get his money and give him the two fingered salute on his way out!

CMD - It took me months to get through the first book! Pick it up tonight when the soaps are on, you'll be chapters in before you know it :) I got way too emotionally invested in those books, I almost broke my kindle one too many times throwing it down in disgust, or so I could take a victory dance! Should probably get a paperback version of the next ones :o
