Good luck Dinah. When OH was requesting flexible working hours they had to at least consider it. Who will mind Grace when you WFH? They will want to know what childcare arrangements you have in place.

Birdie - glad you feel better. Love the owl pattern!

Lara - I hope the words flow!

Oooh Tete, good question! I only really thought of kids characters, kids books are way more fun. Scarlett O Hara is my favourite too but I don't look anything like her so will concede that one to you Birdie! Maybe this is why they don't do it for adults... I'm seriously having such a mind block, I'm beginning to feel as though I've never actually read a book!

LOL Shrimpy, I had a total panic too and decided I was clearly stupid and never read a book ever as I was coming up with nothing! :o

I'm not petite enough to be Scarlett anyway so would have to be Melly... nowhere near as fun (or sexy in an 1860s kind of way!).

Noooo, you're much more Scarlett than Melly! Maybe I'll be Mrs Merriweather!

I hope you mean that as a compliment Shrimps, considering Scarlett's a grade-A b-tch (although she's my fave heroine because of it!). :p

Yay for booking your driving lesson CMD! When is it? :)

Next Monday Birdie. Am very nervous. I cant visualise having the skills to drive a car.

Of course, I mean it purely looks wise! She is the belle of the south! I'd give my left arm to look all glamourous like Vivian Leigh instead of my blonde child like features :o

Well done CMD! You'll be fine, just go easy on yourself. It took about a year for it to sink in that I'd actually passed as I was so certain I could never do it. Even now I sometimes say to OH "Look at me, driving about by myself!" :p

I don't remember ever dressing up for WBD when I was little  So come on then - if they celebrated it for adults who would we all be??? My first thoughts are Mog the Forgetful Cat or Luna Lovegood, but those are both children's books... adult book characters aren't as easy to 'do'...??

Jon Snow for me, assuming I could hide the developing keg I've got, otherwise I'm closer to Robert Baratheon :(
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

This sentence really stuck with me one the way home CMD as it is exactly how I felt, and your use of the word 'visualise' in particular struck a chord. I used to try to visualise myself driving to make me feel more confident but always used to struggle, so I started to just focus on visualising my hands on the wheel - just that and nothing else, just seeing them there and imagining how it felt. It sounds nuts but even that used to make me feel anxious at first but doing it over and over until I didn't feel anxious really did help when I actually got back in the car.

Sorry to keep bombarding you with possibly bonkers and useless advice, as you can tell I tried many many things to overcome my nerves! I was a total basketcase about it tbf, I only had a couple of outfits and a certain pair of shoes I could wear for lessons otherwise I drove really badly, and I always had to have the same thing for breakfast before lessons too :o Thank god I passed in the end or I'd probably have been committed!
