The Ultimate Incentive natters on. Part 9

Good morning ladies, Poolies and NIMs.
£11 into the savings for those doing the weekly savings.
So March Madness so far - £56.83 from ebay sales, £9.07 from Quidco. I know I also have some money coming in from Amazon sales but it hasn't hit yet. A LONG way off where I need to be to hit the target. No idea if any of NIMs MS money has come in yet. Got 36 ebay items listed yesterday, and about 40 items on Amazon during the week. Once Grace goes down for her first nap I need to go clear out the guest room as NIMs dad is coming this week, but hopefully during the tidying process I'll find some more things to sell.
Meeting with the vicar who married us tonight to try to arrange a Christening for Grace, very exciting.
Meeting with work went really, really well. Boss agreed without a moments hesitation to me working one day a week from home. I'm meeting with him and the HR lady again tomorrow, I can't even really remember why, possibly so they can give me a copy of the family friendly policies? The thing that struck me though is both my boss and the lady from HR were very firm that they cared more about my well being than getting me back before I'm ready, they both stated they'd rather I took a few more months to get back and came back confident and able, rather than rushing back and struggling to cope. They want me to go to occupational health for an assessment to see if they think I'm fit to work, and to ask my GP what her opinion is. It's possible one of my colleagues is being let go this week, he's had repeated warnings and ignored all of them so I think they're giving him the option of leave of his own accord or have it on his permanent record that he is on his final warning and that will be his reason for termination of employment if he breaks the rules again, so he will struggle to find another job.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Great news about the meeting going so well! Sounds like you've got really good employers who care about you. They're totally right too, no point in rushing back 3 months early to find that you can't cope and you end up being signed off for 6 months with stress (or whatever, YKWIM).
Really exciting stuff about Grace's Christening! She's very nearly the Birthday Girl too, have you got a little party planned for her?!
I'm not doing well at all with MM. I didn't have any time for ebay over the weekend so missed yet another free listing day.Since I'm planning on using the money for me I can't exactly put in things like supermarket savings, council tax break etc into the pot as that's joint money so I'm struggling.
If it was a joint money thing I'd have hit the target already!

Great news about work Dinah, that must be such a relief. When are you due back at the moment? Or does that depend on what Occupational Health say?
I missed the eBay weekend too Birdie, I need to make it my mission this week/end! I probably have about 40 things to list, but they're all 99p starts so the free listing isn't such an issue for me. If they all sell that will make a small dent in MM!
Did everyone have a nice weekend? I saw the scary strippers on Sat night (although it wasn't as scary overall as I feared) then had the folks over for Sunday lunch yesterday. Super sleepy today!
Birdie - surely you could count half the joint money for the challenge?Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0 -

Morning all. Start of a brand new adventure for me today. I finally worked my last day at my health and social care job on Friday. I had a lovely bunch of flowers off one of my colleagues (I will not be holding my breath for a leaving present off the staff team) and one of the company directors almost made me cry by saying such nice things about me in my exit interview! I have always been under the impression that as I am so disliked by my team that the managers disliked me too. Turns out they love me and my "take no nonsense" way! Exactly what my staff team hated about me!
Anyway enough about that. Today is a brand new day and a brand new start. Today is the start of my life as I want it to be!! (I hope)

Hooray for a new start Star! Enjoy it!
Glad the strippers weren't too scary Shrimpy!
I don't really feel comfortable about taking half the joint money for myself since we're saving for a holiday and it's only fair that joint savings go to joint treats.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Morning girls - is it blizzarding where you are?
I'm another one who managed to miss the free listing - I wish ebay would send the emails earlier on a Friday as I never check them over the weekend and always find out on Monday morning that I've missed free listing. Prob for the best though as I'm away Sat-Wed next week and wouldn't have been able to post anything out if the auctions finished on Sun. I'm still off work Thur and Fri though so that should give me some time to get some listings done. I got my hair done on Saturday though and it was £5 cheaper as I didn't have it cut, just dyed, so I'll put that £5 in the MM pot, but that's about all I've achieved over the wknd
This week is going to be manic, I've already made three different to-do lists this morningReally shouldn't have to work overtime in order to have a week off should I? Gah!
Great news about your work Dinah and StarAnd glad the strippers weren't too awful Shrimpy haha!

It has got all snowy all of a sudden Tete! Seems to have stopped again for now, was a mad blizzard about 10 minutes ago. Sick of it all now, just want winter to be over!
Where are you off next week?
I'm looking for cottages/log cabins with hot tubs this week for a weekend away with my girls in May. We're going to sit in the hot tub till we get wrinkly then sit around with face masks on, doing nails, making pizzas and watching chick flicks. Can't wait!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

Dinah that is great news about the job. Really good you can go back when you are ready too.
That is good you are sorting out Grace's christening. Do you have an idea of when you are doing it?
Birdie - i think you should be able to include half the money saved. That weekend away sounds brilliant!
Shrimpy - glad the scary strippers were ok :rotfl:.
Good stuck with the new job Starnac!
We have had a couple of blizzards this morning, not laying thankfully!
Had a nice weekend. Is my Dads 60th today so we celebrated on Saturday and went out for a family meal. Then yesterday I took Poppy to one of her friends 2nd birthday parties and she had a lovely time running around, going on the bouncy castle etc.0
