I've worked hard getting our guest room back to a guest room from a junk room, I'd rather just sell the furniture. The only piece I'd even consider keeping would be the dresser but it's massive and it could well be 2 years before we have a room to put it in again.

The china etc will have to go in the attic. The furniture will have to be sold.

Really, you'll sell that dresser, after we JUST finished getting the stuff into it too?

Our spare room is the next room on my list to sort out. Trouble is its got my sewing table in there and if I move it its got nowhere else to go and I know that would mean I wouldn't sew as much as it would mean setting up and putting away my sewing machine (which is very heavy) each time.

Stop winding her up NIM! :p

Sounds like the conservatory needs to come down pronto. If you're worried about security, why not get a chain/latch for the door until you can replace it with something more external-doory. :)

Thanks for the heads-up about ebay Beccie. Must dig some stuff out this week! :)

Thanks for the Monkhouse Hill tip too CMD, does look very nice. :) Will add it to the shortlist! :)

Why must you make me doubt myself?! I don't want to but I can't think of any other solution.

Is there no where else the dresser could go temporarily so you could keep it?

If the patio door is being put into permanent lockdown then it could run along it...except the room would be very dark...run it from the corner over part of the door?

I can't think of anywhere. It's not the end of the world, we don't need to be able to get to our good china and place settings if we don't have a dining room to eat in anyway!

The room is really dark as it is, I don't think I'd want to spend any time in there at all if it were any darker. Technically I supose we could do a swap, dresser to the bottom of the stairs, sideboard under the stairs, blanket box across the patio doors where it used to be.... but I don't think I'd want to live with the room that cluttered for a few years until we got a new extension. End of the day this isn't somewhere to put it for a few weeks, it's a few years, and I hate clutter!

We'll work something out, the room will be lighter once the conservatory is gone.
