Dinah - Hope the meeting went well.
CMD - Good luck with your first driving lesson. I was as nervous as anything and even had to take rescue remedy for the first few lessons but then I was ok after that. I find I can only really drive in converse style shoes as the soles are thin and flat and I can feel the peddles properly. I would say I'm an ok driver, but I get nervous when I have to drive anyone other than my OH or parents. I've agreed to give a lift to a friend to a wedding in May and I'm mildly panicking about it now!
Tete - I also say yes! I've been buying some clothes as well since I got my new job offer (any excuse!) Your weekend plans sound really nice.
Birdie - I'm heading back home for the weekend and taking my mum out for dinner tomorrow night rather than Sunday lunch as it's going to be so busy everywhere!
Hope everyone has a good weekend, got the day off today so just going to chill out!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -

Tete I completely agree! I think us intelligent folks are our own worst enemy sometimes!
I've accidentally ended up with quite a busy weekend, got a friend coming for tea tonight, two more for tea tomorrow morning and then a hen do tomorrow evening to see some strippers _pale_Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0 -
Lol Shrimpy, I take it you're not looking forward to it?! Just think of those tiny man-briefs :rotfl:
Don't worry CMD you're doing so well. Those figures have just kept on coming down, down and down. Once the debt is gone you'll have all that repayment money to splurgeThe debt hasn't stopped you doing the most important things, like adding to your lovely family. Good luck with the driving too! I am a 30 year old non-driver so no words of wisdom here either
Tete - those are some very nice plans for the weekend
Hope you have fun with your OH too Birdie!
As for me, I managed to get roped into an International Womens Day bake sale, so I have to bake a cheesecake today and man the stall tomorrow morning. Something I could well do without, but it gets me out of the house I suppose.
A friend is having a housewarming party tomorrow evening too. I was supposed to go with a friend as OH is away, but he hasn't got back. I really need to just stay in and do work so I guess I'll do that.
Sunday is more work. Anyway, I better get started!:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Crikey Shrimpy, that'll be... fun?!
That is a good tip to wear Converse when first driving, much better when you can feel the pedals but you're not worrying that your shoe will randomly fall off (like with sandals or pumps).Even now, after driving for 9 years and being a pretty confident driver, I feel a bit 'off' when driving in high heels or flip flops.

Lara, surely you have to wo-man the stall...? (Sorry)
Happy International Women's Day to all of you marvellous women! And to the men who are in love with marvellous women too.
Bravo to Lara for all your words, Ruby for your promotion, CMD for booking your driving lesson and resisting booking a hol for the long term gain (even if it is dull as sin in the short term) and everyone else for just generally being quite awesome.
I've missed all the chat - I've been reading, but too busy to post (*poor me face*) and working tomorrow too, so pretty grumpy at the mo.
Tete, buy them!
I'm still trying to think of my book character - my first thought was Thursday Next, but she's just a bit ordinary. Scarlett is a brill shout, BirdieLBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
In honour of International Women's Day, am I allowed a brief moan about OH? I have *finally* finished the design for our invites, asked him to check the map and directions as the church is where he grew up (v rural) and my sense of direction is absolutely dire whereas he obviously knows the area like the back of his hand. Just doing a sneaky test print at work and thought I'd do one last check of the postcodes just to be absolutely sure. I've only put the wrong flipping church on there! There's one with the same name in the next village which is where my map and directions would have led everybody to! Obviously v glad I checked and sort of seeing the funny side now but honestly! Just had to have a little Google of Thursday Next, sounds like an interesting book series, might have to try it.
Not good that you're too busy to post Poddle, you need more skive time to talk to us!

Thanks Poddle, your post really cheered me up. Well I'm signing off for the night - ridiculously close to my target word count for once :j.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0
