In what order did you chuck it in? How much liquid did you add? :)

  • I layered it - few leeks, carrots & swede on the bottom, then some chicken, then added 1/2 tin condensed soup & 1/2 tin milk ... then repeated whole thing

The liquid covered everything so there was plenty to be absorbed ... but it didn't seem to do this?

Ive never had a bother with chicken in SC.
I just chuck it in & chuck in a jar of Sainsbugs cheapo curry sauce.

  • *sigh*

I am a reasonably OK cook .... but there is just the odd thing that absolutely DEFEATS me.

I am now accepting that chicken in the SC is one of them & shan't do it again!:(

One of the others ... and don't laugh - actually scrap that as I know you will .. everyone does ..... cheese sauce :o

I know how to do it ... I've been shown how to do it (my BFF is a chef and just can't believe how much of a mess I get into :o) but I just can't do it ..... pain in the butt as I'd love macci cheese sometime :rotfl:

  • Right .. really exciting night planned ;)

About to head off for a bath as I'm pretty chilly :o (must actually go & see if the heating's on!) - will take a book & try to stay in for longer than 5 mins!:D

While my bath's running, will change my bedding - always have to have clean bedding on NYE:D

Then on with the lovely warm fleecy PJs .... grab the cheese puffs ... and try to find something to watch on the telly

Ohhh - and I've just made myself a 2013 calendar  I had the top section from an old one (had cut off the calendar bit at the bottom & kept it as I loved it so much) - printed off a calendar bit from a website and stuck them together :T:T

  • Hi RFTA
Been along time lurker & finally decided I should start joining in instead of reading all the good advice & bargains.
I too have a furry monster that only eats Royal Canin (I rally have tied to get her on grain free biscuits but no joy!).
Might not be the best time for you finances wise but petscorner.co.uk do offers fairly regularly for RC only thing is it is a S England company & you have to spend £45 for free delivery. Just now the Fit 35 is £9.99 for 2kg they also offers on dog food but really registered what Maisie eats.
Hope this will be of some help.
    All the best for 2013

  • Hi TheBairn welcome to MSE - feel quite proud that I'm your first post ever!

Thanks for the tip:) - that's not a site I've used before but it's now been added to my list to check when I'm looking to stock up! :T

Maisie's food is a working dog food and tends to be stocked by independent retailers and not generally available at places like P@H, Zoo+, Pet*planet etc ... but I can get it at Amazon (I guess because there's independent stores on there)

However, it's not really any cheaper than I can get it at my local pet shop (I think it's about a £) so I just get it there as I'd rather support a local retailer where I can :)

Wishing you all the best for 2013:D

I used to be a proffesional cook but I can't boil an egg - I get sidetracked and remember them when they start exploding when they boil dry :D

As the Scots will have realised I have nicked the aviator, name & signature from the Broons.
