I hate getting it cut - can trim the sides / tidy it up myself but can't quite do the back so I do get it done every 6ish months

Mrs Mort caused a panic in a local barber shop last week. Her fringe had been annoying her for a while but she couldn't be bothered to book her mobile hairdresser. She walked into the barbers and asked them to trim her fringe. The two blokes literally ran a mile but the lady in there did it no problem, and it was half the normal price.

House seems really quiet after being with 2 dogs for the past day ..... had lots of Maisie cuddles & she's still def a "mommy's girl";) *sigh* - hoping I'll be able to bring her home at Christmas :j ... keep everything crossed!

DF very kindly gave me a donation towards the TD for Christmas :T so the Emergency Fund's not quite wiped out :) - just hope nothing else breaks down for a while!!

Hi Mort:) Mrs Mort is very brave :o I love the idea .... but  at the thought - sure it'd be fine tho.

Actually need to have a think about where I'm going to get it cut - it used to cost me £40-£45 to have it cut & coloured (small local salon) but the last time it was £40 just for the cut which I feel is getting just a bit expensive ... not sure if she's putting up her prices as people are going less often or because I've been going a while :(

  • So ... managed to get a couple of pressies @ SM this morning so at least that's something crossed off the list. :) Not getting a lot this year and really only 1 to get now!:T

Bit annoyed they're having to come out my Grocery Budget - I will have the "Others Pot" (incl Presents) up and running by this time next year!

Hi Rising, glad to see you had a good time with Maisie :)

Re the hair cut/trim /colour..have you got a college near you that does it?
I went to my local college when i lived in my previous town, and they did cuts from £4, Cut and colours from £12 and full on cut,colour,blow-dry, pamper/head massage for £15.
Never had ANY problems with them at all, all properly supervised etc :)

Ohhhh I wish .... nearest big town with colleges is 30 miles away so not really feasible due to fuel costs

I will have a hunt around tho' as if I could combine it with a trip when I was going anyway ..... might phone my old hairdresser (town where DM lives) and see if she can fit me in over Christmas - I only stopped going to her due to the fuel costs of getting from here but will be down at DMs anyway ....

Really need to get my eyes tested too  and pretty certain I need new glasses as now having to take these ones off to read!:o
