My hamper hasn't arrived so I telephoned Waitrose customer services at the head office in Bracknell and told them not to put me through to hampers as you just get left hanging on the phone. They have agreed that the service and communication is not up to standard and will be refunding my money plus £25 in vouchers.
This doesn't compensate for now having to go and buy a gift and then deliver it myself but at least I know I'm not going to get it.

Mine arrived yesterday, 5 days after my dispatch email. The ice pack inside had defrosted and I was not happy about eating the contents. I contacted customer services (after hanging on for yonks) and was told I would get a refund, but no offer of vouchers as well, so you did well on that. The whole point, though, was to take the stress out of shopping for guests, I was looking forward to putting on a spread of salmon, duck, ham and beef (cold) but I have had to dispose of them as I couldn't possibly take responsibility for serving up "off" food.

I really hope they get their act together on this. I have had hampers in the past and they have been good value (ish) but, as importantly, delivered promptly and in edible condition.

So, it's off to the shops for me. Grrrrr.

Credit where it is due for Waitrose. They have refunded what I paid for the hamper and for that I am grateful as I was inconvenienced at a very difficult time for me to have to go shopping.

As I said, I do hope they get their act together for next year and maybe, just maybe, I might consider ordering from them again.

thanks for the post, just quaffing the wine which came with the hamper and it's very yummy!! also polished off the cold meats for an easy lunch. Great stuff

Just had a surprise from Waitrose...

Had so many problems with the hampers i ordered before christmas. First one was sent before the 19th and had to be thrown as it has sat in a neighbours house for over 24 hours(not in a fridge) never had a dispatch email so didn't know it was coming. I was refunded in full.

Second order again no dispatch email.


Anyway just had a recorded delivery letter and it was from Waitrose and inside were £30's worth of gift vouchers to say sorry.
I had no idea they were coming and Waitrose never said i was going to get any.
