Gosh i nearly had a heart attack:eek:
When i ordered the hampers Waitrose took £1(well it was pending) in my credit card account. Which was basically Waitrose testing the card is valid as they were not dispatching straight away.
Today that £1 disappeared off my pending items (which is normal) and i also no thanks to Citylink i received the book i had ordered too.
Well i just logged in to my credit card and it now says RECURRENT TRANSACTION £3.75 (which is the correct price of the book)
After going into panic mode having heard nightmare stories about recurring transactions i spoke to my Dad(who knows everything) then my credit card company he explained that because Waitrose didn't take full payment because the hampers have yet to be sent it is classed as recurring because they will be taking it at a later date.0 -
Hi,
got my black and white tower today, and the sharing sweet hamper. Pleased with both, especially the tower, beautiful boxes, and ribbons. Put it under the tree, and it looks super posh!!
Expecting the ultimate refresher next week, so hope I won't be disappointed!!

Just wondered if it is just me that has a pending amount for the item i received today which is showing as a recurrent transaction?
I have always been very wary of Recurrent transactions and have been so careful to avoid them. Although i have been told it is because items are being sent separately and billed for individually i can't help but worry.
I can't be the only one who ordered a fresh hamper that is coming later and an item that has already been delivered (in my case a book)all on the same order.0 -
Did the people who have had delivery get despatch emails? Both my orders (not fresh products) are showing as "being prepared" and my credit card showing as pending £1. however, I got a despatch email for one of the hampers yesterday! I just want to be sure that they are not going to be cancelled so that I can phone my father-in-law to expect a delivery. I don't want to do that and then find out he is not getting one!!:eek:0

I received the stacking tower of three boxes today - forgot its official title! As a previous poster said, they look beautiful and it was only lucky that we were in, as by the time my OH answered the door the delivery man was getting back in his van, having left the boxes containing that and the chocolate desserts book on the doorstep.
Sadly, the other stacking tower did not survive City Link and was delivered a soggy mess to our elderly relative. The box was upside down and the bottle of red wine had smashed, despite the bubble wrap, soaking that box and seeping into the next box. I phoned Waitrose Direct to find they have sold out of those boxes, but offered to send a hamper of greater value at no extra charge. Let's just hope that this one survives the journey!0 -

I had a despatch email for one but not the other, yet both were delivered on the same day (different destinations).0 -
I really hope they don't dispatch the fresh hamper I bought for my parents - they are away until the 18th and I live miles away from them so can't go and take it off the doorstep if it is delivered early. I would also have to unpack and refridgerate it all which would defeat the point really.
I was banking on this arriving from the 19th!!0 -
The cheese cooler one is still showing as available on their website this dosen't have delivery between 19-22 dec below it. I didn't order the refresher hampers as we will be away between the delivery dates it stated. I ordered 2 other christmas hampers on 2 seperate orders, i had an email yesterday saying one had been despatched! Will wait to see if any turn up today!0

I received my black and white 3 box stacking tower yesterday. Luckily I had my father-in-laws hamper deivered to me first and took a little peek. Very, very, very disappointed!!! 3 items were missing on the check list which left 1 box with just a packet of popcorn in it. I was on the telephone for 28mins in the queue before hanging up and trying another option. Spoke to someone who was very hard work and said they will investigate it their end and let me know the outcome in 2weeks. I explained it was a christmas present, christmas is in 2WEEKS and NOT HAPPY so therefore wanted the supervisor. The superviser couldn't be bothered to speak on the phone but we ended up having a 3 way conversation which was totally unprofessional. They have decided on a full refund but I kept explaining that all I wanted was the missing items which they couldn't do. Strange.....very strange.... Hamper 2 is arriving today, fingers crossed!!!!!0

I received my non-fresh hampers today. I haven't checked the contents but they look amazing and well worth the money paid for the 'wow' factor. Thanks again Claire21 for posting the glitch.
