it's a public holday weekend for me, so loving not working this monday. Went out for a meal with some freinds who live in a wee village some distance away and had a fab (but expensive) meal out with them and their kids, then a great walk around with the camera taking some shots and playing about with it. The course OH went on has taught him so much, I am glad he is getting so much from his dad's old camera. Swung in past my brother's house for a cuppa then went to ald! which i never usually do as too far away, and stocked up on loads of veg. so today, gonna batch cook and do some baking.

Carpet is down, looks like a real home at last. We just have the kitchen to paint, a greenhouse to buy, and sunroom to paint and then we are finished. The bathroom still has tiles i am trying to persuade OH to rip off, but he is not keen, so it can stay unfinished for now.

The blue kitchen units are staying, but we are going to build a new unit for a built in cooker as the one we have is awful and can't live with it. Bought a very cheap glass dinig table from arg@s at the weekend which is being delivered late oct - not really what we wanted, but so cheap that it doesn't matter. Had budgeted about £400 for that, but is only costing £40 and can paint old chairs for now. Once we pay the plumber there might be a couple of thousand left that can be overpaid I hope. :T

have been very busy - started painting the bathroom tiles - there is a horrible green and pink border tile around plain white tiles. OH not keen to retile the whole bathroom, so had a google on here and found some posts about using floor paint for tiles. Got red gloss floor paint for £4.50 and so far it looks ok - not wonderful as it is hard not to paint on grout, but anything is an improvement. And got another 2 days overtime this week and 3 mornings next week that I will claim in october's pay.

OH gets paid tomorrow - have about £80 in account left over - would have been more, but daughter in Spain sent a begging text so had to put some cash into her account. Goodness knows when i will see that back :rotfl:

OH pay day - mine isn't till monday, and i need to leave some of his for the monthly budget as not sure how much i get paid yet. But have paid this month's credit card - should be paid off next month just before our interest free period ends. Have moved £100 into holiday fund, and have overpaid £280 into mortgage. Hope to do more on monday once i know what my wages are like. total outstanding is £98,442.37. :j

My dad has arranged for an electician to look at our very dated fusebox today - not sure how much that will cost. We are hoping to rip out our gas cooker and have bought a cheap electric oven and hob to replace it, but will need an electric socket to fit it into. And now that the hall is painted and carpeted the doors really need replaced so that is on my list this month.

Off shopping this weekend - OH is visiting his mum in Lothian and has promised we can go to outlet shopping place as both of us need some clothes. Got a cheap hotel room on laterooms last night so making a trip out of it.

shopping in outlet place was fun - and a bonus was that mum in law was busy so managed to avoid a visit! got a couple of oufits for work, shirts for OH and a great bedding set for our room as well as some tiles. Have started decorating large bathroom now, but our cash has almost ran out after getting plumbers bill in. There should just enough for a greenhouse and we are putting in a new kitchen unit with hob and oven next month, tiling and painting kitchen and that will be us finished just in time for christmas i think.

Got more overtime 3 days this week, then a meal out on friday night, and then getting on a plane to spain on saturday morning to see daughter on her 25th birthday:T

Our direct debit for monthly mortgage came off today - £713.66, and i was brave and overpaid another £300 which came from overtime, so the total this month so far is £1013.66. and the total left to pay is £97,455.65:beer:

back from sunny benidorm, nice to be home, but missing the lovely sunshine and :beer: managed not to spend too much and even came home with 50 euros which i usually spend in duty free on make up, so feeling quite proud of us for that. Daughter is well, although fed up and wants to come home now - maybe another month and she will be heading our way again.

paid in £157 this week, bringing our total to £97,378.75. OH away to do a couple hours work and i am batch cooking soup, chicken stew and chilli as well as drying several loads of washing on the line. Have had 2 nights out - one just as we leaving last friday and another last night 2 hours after i got home, so socialising all done this month and will have a frugral rest of the month.

Why did u not bring the sun back with you??!!
Glad u had a nice hols and well done on the duty free! Whenever I travel with work I have to walk with blinkers on thru the airport to save temptation!
