oven scrubbed, 5 boxes packed today and did a car boot sale this morning and raised £70 as well as decluttering heaps of stuff. This is starting to feel very real now.

Had to arrange an online payment for the reclaimed overpayments which have been sitting in the flex account this month. almost £39k to my solicitor - hope i keyed in the right account number or someone will get a nice surprise tomorrow :o. We have over 9k left over to get new things for house, and then will overpay the rest back.

Although OH keeps looking at a vintage campervan he has found for sale on fleabay

OH still looking at vintage campervans - I must admit to having a soft spot for them too. Might have to live with that blue kitchen for a while if we "invest" some cah in that rather than the house.

No word yet about the offer - they did say it might be tomorrow before it all gets wrapped up.

Another 5 boxes packed, started in the kitchen now, will manage a meal tonight and then probably have to resort to takeaways for rest of week - yuk! Still, at least i have the car boot cash to pay for that.

half the kitchen packed up this evening, finally got our offer faxed to solicitor....for the wrong amount. offer is for the valuation and not the purchase price. As usual, no-one from Nationwide available to discuss it this afternoon.

Wonder what else can they screw up? After this stress it will be a delight depriving them of any interest we can save over the next few years.

think the mortgage offer went through today, both nationwide and solicitor sent emails confirming, so hope it is all good. We have something to sign on Thursday and then should be good to go on monday. I have a pre-assessment appointment at hospital on thursday so don't think I will have long to wait for my operation.

I bought OH tickets to carfest north this year before we had any plans to move. It means driving down 3 days after moving day for a long weekend camping - I think we are mad! But have paid for the tickets and we have all the rest of our life to decorate our new home. The biggest challenge will be keeping OH away from the car auctions when he knows there is cash sitting in the bank.:rotfl:

had a voucher for £12 off supermarket that needed to be used this week, and went to buy 5 bottles of whiskey for pals who are helping us move on monday. Also took all my spare change to put through machine. Checking till receipt later, I realised we were only charged for 4 bottles (and they were on special offer, saving £4 each). With the voucher and £8 in small change each bottle cost £7.20. :money:

However, they had overcharged 40p on a reduced loaf - so I don't feel guilty at not owning up.

packing going well, and finally off work so can get cracking with the rest of it today. also need to organise house insurance for new house as nationwide were going to do it, but don't suppose they did as have had no paperwork from them about that.

Had the pre op assessment for tonsil biopsy, think it being done urgently so should not have long to wait. manager is less than happy, as i need 2 weeks recovery time cos of risk if infection. Not looking forward to it as even the nurse practitioner was saying adult tonsilectomy is really painful :( Hope the drugs are good.

Thunder here last night - one rumble went on for ages - i dont like lightening

Not too bad but they won't let you out till you've eaten something like dry toast to rip off all the blood clots at the back of your throat _pale_. I nibbled at some toast, left the crusts and spat most of the toast in a hankie when no-one was looking. Nurse was very pleased with me and sent me home :o. Where I ate jelly and icecream :T.

Tip - don't make summer pudding thinking it will be nice and soft on your throat. The acid in the fruit will find the wound and send you into orbit. As I found out the hard way :rotfl:.

    Good luck :)

Thanks Gallygirl, i don't know anyone who had their tonsils out as an adult, so that is a big help. The nurse did say to keep eating toast and crisps to keep the scabs from crusting. She also warned me about the bleeding and the fact that "everyone vomits". yuk.

Went shopping with my mum for bedroom carpets this morning - omg that woman can spend money! I feel a little faint at the amount i had to pay for carpets even though they are all good quality roll ends at a third of the usual price. Still that will be upstairs all carpeted and we can get that decorated first.

Took the first load of stuff round to the new house. the present owner kindly let us put pots in the garden and some stuff in his shed to save us moving it on monday. He turned up with OH and my dad were round with another load and let them see the house again. They report back it is empty and looks huge and fairly clean. What a relief - as it is a probate house we were worried we might be left with heaps of old furniture to dispose of.
