I agree - will let him out of doghouse now though as he is one of the things that usually make my life worth living.

And he picked me and my drunk mates up from a hen night last night and drove us home, made cheese on toast and tea without complaining. Too old for hen nights - overpriced watered down cocktails and nasty food. was home by 11pm

Off to a classic car rally today to let him drool over his cars. Better hide the credit card in case any are for sale. Then meeting with another bunch of pals to go to cinema this evening. I will be glad to get back to work for a rest after this weekend.

Didn't make it to the cinema - cannot do 2 nights out in a row these days never mind 3... Bonus is I only have 2 days to work this week then off to glasgow for a couple of days.

one of our direct debits for new scary mortgage is off, £613.32, but i think there should be another one for the smaller mortgage, so will have to keep an eye out for it. New balance is 100534.82, so should be just under 100k the week after we move. Then we can get started again.

Blooming daughter in Spain has sent a message to say she has forgiven flatmate and no hard feelings as after all her phone "only cost 20 quid at end of day". Thats the price she paid to upgrade, not the replacement price. meanwhile i have paid £30 for cheap nasty phone which i cannot work and have to spend hours transfering all my data onto so she can get my iphone. I will see if i can work out how to operate this new phone, otherwise will send it to her.

You're doing really well with the mortgage Kirsty. :)
Your daughter sounds like mine-doesn't really have much idea about the value of things-my daughter is 20 and still lives in cloud cuckoo land half the time. :)

thanks for visiting tattycath (love the name) my daughter is 24 and spends every euro she earns. There is probably an arguement for not spoiling her with my phone, but miss her more when she has no internet access or even sending messages.

Quiet day today, had to pay £6 as someone screwed up restuarant bill on hen night. It was a late night for some of the girls..I went home quite early.

Made 55 points on nectar adpoints and will submit my mileage expenses for the past 3 months tomorrow, I think. Chicken soup and sarnies for tea using leftover chicken from yesterday and lettace out garden in the sarnie. Enough to freeze another couple portions too.

I am in awe of the folk in their 20s on this board, although I was 18 when i took out my first mortgage, we didn't have a clue and never occurred to us to overpay. I know, Calfuray, she should stand on her own two feet now, but she's still my girl, and I don't get the chance to spoil her often. I have emailed her to ask her to cost out a new phone, as I don't want to learn how to work a new one again.

Off to Glasgow today to see Bon Jovi tonight in concert. Maybe this will be the night Jon asks me to run away with him...

I know what you mean KP- If I'd started doing this when I had my first mortgage I would be living on a beach somewhere now rather than sat in some dingy office!!
Good luck with Jon - remember if you don't ask, you dont get :D

took me till my first mortgage was almost at the end of it's 25 year term, before i realised i didn't wnt to spend the next 25 years still paying the other one!

Jon didn't ask me to run away with him - shame. Actually he needs to lay off the teeth whitening stuff, looks awful and a bit scary with dazzeling teeth. The rest of him still looks fine though. Ended up staying an extra night in Glasgow and enjoyed window shopping for new house in all the fancy shops. Been nice to spend a few days away from the bombsite that is my present home.

Might have to transfer some cash back from savings however:o well, there was a shoe sale on. Didn't buy the jimmy choos reduced down to £125, even though they fitted. :A (but did get 2 pairs of Dune shoes for £42).

met with mortgage advisor again yesterday. as well as transfering the overpayments back onto mortgage we had to increase the term back to 13 years and 11 months as one had been paid and the other had come down to 10 years. But have the same mortgage we would have had all along if we had not started overpaying, and will have a bigger house so not all negative. And we can start overpaying once we have moved and have the final bill from solicitor, etc. Might have about 5-7k left over and can use that to do the house up with. Am trying to talk myself into just keeping the blue kitchen so can overpay a chunk of that. Would love to have it all paid off in 6 or 7 years if possible.

In fact going to buy a king size bed today. Then declutter shed and garage and maybe sell some old gym equipment on facebay for ready cash. Weather is glorious here and not back to work until tuesday :T
